How To Enter Key Triggers Wrong Submit Button

I am working on an mvc application. Two tables each have their individual submit button. Table1 has default submit on enter key. How do I change the submit button based on textbox focus?

I tried using the panel, but "the DefaultButton of 'Panel1' must be the ID of a control of type IButtonControl".

I have a logout button on the master page.
I have a textbox on my subpage.
When I click the text box i notice that the logout button on my master page gets focus. So if the user types something in the textbox and then presses enter/return (a common reaction it appears) the user inadvertantly logs themselves out as the logout button is triggered.
Is there any way of stopping this?

I have a text box and many buttons. When user is in some text box and presses the "enter" key then specific button click event is raised. I read on the internet that there are some problems with the "enter" key and I tried few solutions but still it always enters that button event (that button is the first button in the page).
I tried creating a button which does nothing and writing this in the page_load:

All my page controls are in a form and I tried giving the form "defaultButton" property to that button I created. That didnt work either.

I have an AJAX PopupExtender that popsup a panel with submit button. I want to recognise the enter key press as the click event for the submit buttNeed to set the form property called "AcceptButton" to this button to achieve this functionality. I have two popups with a submit button on each of them. How to set this behaviour ?

I have a web page, with three buttons which allow a user to cancel, save & exit, or save & continue. to assign the Save & Continue button the ability to accept the Enter key as being equal to it being clicked? Thought this might make it faster for data entry, so they can keep hands on keyboard, and just hit enter, instead of having to use mouse to click save & continue.

I have a page with multiple textboxes and each has a button associated with it. This works as a search 'hub', I suppose, where the user can search by ID, name etc. When entering a search term for e.g. name however, pressing enter 'clicks' the very first button on the page (ID search), causing an error if the associated textbox is empty (which it would be if someone meant to search by name). I have attempted to rectify this using JQuery, and have written the following:

I'm simply using the click event so that I can monitor where focus is redirected, but eventually I would use .keypress. However, nothing happens upon clicking a textbox and I can't see for the life of me what is wrong with the JQuery. To elaborate on the problem, the .NET code used looks similar to the following throughout the page.

I'm using Quartz.NET for a system I am creating, where jobs are run via a Windows Service and can be added and editted (inlcuding trigger details) in an ASP.NET page.
I'm having some issues though - I need to be able to modify a triggers details, such as the type of simpletrigger or the cronexpression, and I've been told that I need to unschedule the job then reschedule it. Problem is, unscheduling the job then rescheduling is totally removing the trigger from the job for some reason. Here is my code for when the Submit button is clicked on the edit page:

I have two search textboxes and two corresponding buttons on my web page.One of the textboxes is a default textbox coming from the .master page and the other one is local to the page.Now,when I enter some text into the local textbox and press enter, the event of the master page button gets fired instead of that of the local button.How do I fix this issue? I tried to shift focus to the local button and on the text changed event but the master page button event is always the last one which is getting fired. I tried changing both the buttons to LinkButtons but then enter doesn't work!A

I have a few sections in my code with a button to do something different in each. I'm pretty sure the user would press enter to submit the section, but I would like to handle it nonetheless.To handle it, I put the "sections" into Panels, and set the default button for each. There is a total of 4 panels and default buttons set to their respective included buttons.When I press enter in 3 of them, the correct event fires, but not in one (it calls a different button).I put MsgBoxes (for testing) at the beginning of each server event to see which is being called, and it's not the correct one.I might as well post the code, but it's fairly simple. I don't know if the accordion affects it at all, but it doesn't seem like it should...

I'm adding a extra functionality to an existing program. Its a Login page to manage the time a user came in and out. So first a login is asked, then (on the same page) a list with the login times are shown. The same button is used (just relabelled) for the login and time in/out.
The problem exist when users want to use enter to login and time in/out. So quickly press enter twice. No problems with the login. But the second page wont recognize the enter. even when I capture the keypress with JavaScript nothing happens. I have to click the form (or a object in the form) so the enter would work.
Tried UseSubmitBehavior, Javascript, changing focus.
I'm actually desperate and thinking of rewriting the whole thing.

I have a weird thing happening. I have two identical databases installed on one virtual machine but under two different instances of SQLServer. For some reason, periodically when saving from one it will save to the other instead. Using debug, I have verified that the connection string is correct and when the item saves, it still saves to the wrong database.I use session variable, and am of the belief that it might have something to do with it...and t hat when I go from one to the other it is still getting the connection string form the other for some reason.To make sure that it isn't a problem, I make sure that I completely close out one database before opening the other in a new IE window.I assume that when I completely close out an internet explorer window that it abandons all session states. Is that true?

I have a chat application I've developed which sits inside a master page. When the user presses enter inside his/her chat input field, I want that to trigger the submit chat behaviour (same as clicking the 'submit' button under the chat input field), but because there is another submit button inside the master page and higher up the page (a search function), that is what gets triggered. So if the user hits enter, s/he gets sent off to the search page.

In ASP.NET when we have multiple input section with required field validator (Like on header for login with userid & Password is required and second on footer for subscription) when we click on subscription login section's userid required field validator activates and say userid required & i can not submit subscription.
when i submit subscription details login section should not have concern with this. how to avoid this conflicts.

Initially I am doing validating form by clicking on btnOK and in btn_Submit I am inserting record into table. I again want to call btn_Ok event in btn_Submit click event for re-checking validation, if it validates properly thne rest of code of btn_submit should work.

I have a form that I am using with jquery for an application... everything is working fine but I have one issue....I do not want the form to submit when the user presses the enter key... if they press the enter key it will reset the whole sequence and I am running through an array that is placed in the system memory of the client(client-side javascript)is there a way to capture this event properly? Are there other ways that could submit the form?

I have created a user control which has a form and 2 buttons; Save and Submit. Both buttons are created at design time. Users can enter details in the form (e.g. title and description of an item) and click Save which does some server-side processing to create an 'Item' then clears the form.
The buttons:

And a placeholder to add dynamically created controls:

I am saving the Items in ViewState and dynamically creating a LinkButton control for each Item which allows the user to edit the item:

Now, when I test this in Visual Studio 2010, it works fine;
1. Enter Item title and description in form
2. Click Save
3. Save button triggers postback and onClick event code is run
4. ViewState list is displayed below the form
When I create a local IIS web site for testing, the postback on the Save button only works the first time I click it. Postback is false on the second click and the page reloads without running the onClick event code.

I'm reading an invoice dataset and building a html table with checkboxes and textboxes in it, and I put that code in a postback = false block, then i got a button and a literal. The button click will loop through the html table checkboxes to calculate a total and assign it to the literal and display it. I got everything working except one thing, every time i click the button, the html table refreshes and lost all the value in textboxes....even though I put the html building block in the postback = false block,it seems like it still won't preserve the values in the textboxes once there's a button click...Anybody knows a solution to that? I want the textboxes keep what values are there.
