How To Anchor Tags (for Internal Links) Be Put Into A Gridview
Mar 3, 2011
I have a long alphabetical list to be displayed by a gridview.
I need to have links at the top of the page that will link to anchors in the gridview. How can I get anchor tags in the gridview so that the links will jump to them when clicked?
i'm trying to find all the anchor tags and appending the href value with a variable. for example
<a href="/page.aspx">link</a> will become <a href="/page.aspx?id=2"> <A hRef='http://www.google.com'><img src='pic.jpg'></a> will become <A hRef='http://www.google.com?id=2'><img src='pic.jpg'></a>
I'm able to match all the anchor tags and href values using regex, then i manually replace the values using string.replace, however i dont think its the efficient way to do this.Is there a solution where i can use something like regex.replace(html, newurlvalue)
i am developing website in which i am using web.sitemap to create breadcrumbs now the problem is that when i use to debug the nodes the internal links come null
Only in master file, and only in <link> tag Links.Content.Site_css doesn't work. That is, if I have [Code].... If I put the same thing in <title>; or if I put the same link tag in a regular aspx file; or if I use Links.Scripts.jquery_js - everything seems to be working fine. Is there anything specific for resolving <link> tags in master page? I am using MVC 2 RC2
I've noticed that when i switch (browse) in between internal links in mywebsite "about", "services", "home", "contact", using Mozilla Firefox browser pages are moving slightly from one side to the other.(right to left and vice versa)
Tried the same in Explorer and it's fine. Any ideas why that is happening and how to fix it?
I am looking details on the internal working of asp.net architecture. The topics need to include the following:
Asp.Net Thread/Application Pools HttpRuntime HttpApplication - When and how it is set up How HttpContext is set up How objects can passed along the pipeline using HttpContext.Current.Items Why does modification of static variables requires locks in ASP.NET (advanced)IIS 7 Integration Mode
I am trying to render a simple hyperlink that links to a named anchor within the page, for example:
<a href="#namedAnchor">scroll to down</a> <a name="namedAnchor">down</a>
The problem is that when I use an ASP.NET control like asp:HyperLink or HtmlAnchor, the href="#namedAnchor" is rendered as href="controls/#namedAnchor" (where controls is the subdirectory where the user control containing the anchor is). Here is the code for the control, using two types of anchor controls, which both have the same problem:
[code]....
I am using the HtmlAnchor or HyperLink class because I want to make changes to other attributes in the code behind. I do not want to introduce a custom web control for this requirement, as the requirement I'm pursuing is not that important enough to justify abandoning the traditional ASP.NET link controls. It seems like I should be able to use the ASP.NET link controls to generate the desired link.
I have a Gridview with ID "GVSeasonsOfResort" which has selectable rows.
One of the fields in that gridview is RSLinkID which is an ID field of the table from which ths SQLDataSource driving the gridview gets its data.
I have a textbox outside the gridview with ID TxtBxRSLinkID and when I select a row of the Gridview, I want to assign the value of the RSLinkID field of the selected row to the TxtBxRSLinkID.
where id is the datakeyname of the grid now i had a requirement to add another datakename as UserId. and i need to have DataBinder.Eval for UserId also.
How am going to use two values in this anchor tag using DataBinder.Eval?
i have created a aspx page with the script manager, update panels and so on. Now, when i use some jquery functions which are included inside the head tags, when the page is run, i find the script tags generated inside the body instead of the head tag. i'm using visual studio 2005 only.
I am building a forum and I want to use forum-style tags to let the users format their posts in a limited fashion.Currently I am using Regex to do this.As per this question:How to use C# regular expressions to emulate forum tags. The problem with this,is that the regex does not distinguish between nested tags. Here is a sample of how I implemented this method:
public static string MyExtensionMethod(this string text){return TransformTags(text);} private static string TransformTags(string input) {string regex = @"[([^=]+)[=x22']*(S*?)['x22]*](.+?)[/(1)]"; MatchCollection matches = new Regex(regex).Matches(input); for (int i = 0; i < matches.Count; i++) var tag = matches[i].Groups[1].Value; var optionalValue = matches[i].Groups[2].Value; var content = matches[i].Groups[3].Value; Now,if I submit something like [quote] This user posted [quote] blah [/quote] [/quote] it does not properly detect the nested quote.Instead it takes the first opening quote tag and puts it with the first closing quote tag.Do you guys recommend any solutions? Can the regex be modified to grab nested tags?Maybe I shouldn't use regex for this?
Is there a way to apply your own CSS tags to <li> tags when using ASP .NET 4.0 menu control? For example, say I have an external style sheet that has tags "class1", "class2", "class3", and etc. I want to apply "class1" to the first menu item. Then if menu item is selected, I want to apply "class2" and if it's not selected, "class3". I played with various 'Static' styles, but just can't get it work. I finally gave up and created my own menu control that extends ASP .NET menu control and provides my own custom rendering. This works, but I'm wondering if there is a way to get it work with built-in menu control.
I'm populating a GridView with data from an Excel sheet. I'm using some code from MSDN that grabs the data via a range.
VB.NET Code:
Public Sub GetExcelData(ByVal gv As GridView, ByVal path As String) ' Define variables and default values Dim i As Integer = 0 Dim j As Integer = 0 ' Create connection string variable. Dim strConnection As String = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;" _
[Code] ....
Which works great. I have different areas of the intranet where I'm using this. The first page only needs to read the plain data from the Excel sheet. But, now I'm trying to read the data, but also keep the links that are within the sheet.
The data that is populate basically looks like this:
#1 Name Link1 Link2 #2 Name Link1 Link2 #3 Name Link1 Link2
But the links aren't kept. So, how I can accomplish this.
There might be an easier way, but this is what I was thinking. The links correspond to PDFs on the server. When the data loads, I could loop through the list and dynamically change each "link" cell to a hyperlink. The problem is matching up the link to the PDFs. The name of the PDFs aren't exactly the same as the name in the cell. So I'd have to create another table or something, that could reference that data. A Select Case would work, but that's super time consuming and I have to make this as seamless to update as possible.
So I'm not sure I want to do that. If I could just maintain the links as the data has bound, that'd be awesome. But I have a feeling that won't be possible. My searches are coming up short so far.
I have a SharePoint web part that I wrote in C# which is used to display SQL Server data based on user selections. I pull the data with a DataReader, fill a DataSet with it, and set that DataSet as the DataSource in a GridView and add that control to my page:
This gives me a simple HTML table with a declared CSS class and that's about it. The only problem I'm facing is that line breaks in the data fields are not being rendered at all. I'm simply getting a block of text that ignores the breaks that are present in the database when it's rendered to HTML. In stepping through my code, I see that the newlines are coming in as text in the form of "". I tried a regex:
Sub MakeAccessible(ByVal grid As GridView) If grid.Rows.Count > 0 Then grid.UseAccessibleHeader = True grid.HeaderRow.TableSection = TableRowSection.TableHeader grid.HeaderRow.CssClass = "" 'grid.FooterRow.TableSection = TableRowSection.TableFooter End If End Sub
Now I need to add attributes to the th tags like th xyz=boom.
I have a hyperlinkfield in Gridview control. I am using the below shown stylesheet for the gridview. But for some reason, the hyperlinkField column in the gridview is not in blue color and there is no underline. How can I display the hyperlinks as regular hyperlinks as blue in color and underline?
Using a GridView to display unique website department names from a database table, is it possible to create a hyperlink in the GridView to that specific departments page? I'm a beginner and haven't found any examples so unsure as to how this would be accomplished.
I need to disable the edit command link if a record has links to other records within the tables.
I have a table that has worktype and that is captured when certain records are entered. So if a record exists with that value, then i want to disable the "Edit" link for that record within my gridview.
I want to provide them access to add more worktypes, but if they want to edit a worktype, i need to make sure its not used anywhere in the other tables, before they can edit it. For now atleast, because i will need to allow full editing and deletion functions for this table. how to do this or maybe suggestions on other things i can do to give them full functionality?
I have a grid view (using sqldatasource & C#) which returns no rows. By design asp.net does not show header/footer. I looked at couple of sites and suggestions and found it to be too complex. Nothing was simple. The one I found was to create a empty datatable, insert rows and bind it to the gridview. But that code does notwork for me because I am using sqldatasource and using datatable gives error.I decided to just add the following to empty item template.
THe link shows up in the bottom but the event gridview_RowCommand is not fired as the grid view is not created or it does not have rows
How do I call a function on click the add new link and put all my code in there to insert possibly using a modal popup. I cannot use onclientclick because it is javascript.
