But my problem is that if the description is larger it stretches in the browser and show it in one line. I want to display description in multi line (like a paragraph)

Jan 7, 2011I have a page with about 8 dropdowns at the top, and a gridview at the bottom. The user will select values from the dropdowns and then I want to populate the grid. I would like not to do a postback when filling the grid, so I'd like to have an html input button which calls a web method. My web method accepts an array of parameters (i.e., the dropdown values), passes these to a stored proc and returns a List (Of myClass). I then want to bind the List to the gridview. First question: Is this possible?
Second question: I need to pass the dropdown values to the web method. So I need a javascript function which looks at each dropdown, gets the value, and puts it in an array, then passes this array to my Web method. The web method needs to know which value goes with which parameter, to feed the stored proc...so am I locking myself into a situation where the ORDER of the parameters matters, and is there a better way?

Mar 31, 2010Brief overview of my problem......I have certain text boxes(say, txtbox2) in a page that have to be filled only if certain other text boxes(say, txtbox1) are filled. For this, I have disabled the requiredfield validators for txtbox2 in the asp.net code and then wrote a javascript to enable these text boxes on the required conditions. All this works well. In my submit button I have written this,

Jun 23, 2010I have a grid. Inside the grid I have a button which is placed inside an update panel, which when clicked should do something I tell it to do in code behind. The problem is that when I click the button, it ignores the fact that the button is inside the update panel and it refreshes the entire grid, instead of refreshing only the stuff inside the update panel. What I need it to do instead is update only things inside the update panel my button is in, but leave alone the grid.
This is the setup I currently have:
