I have items like:

where 1, 2, 3, 4 are the itemindex, i want to be able to get 1 if text link1 is clicked, or 2 if text link two is clicked etc.

How do you get dropdown lists to refresh after a submit button has been clicked and the radgrid has been populated? Basically I have built a search tool which allows users to select the items from a dropdown list, click a button their results are displayed in a grid. However, currently it won't allow users to carry out a second search. It it a rebinding issue?
View 1 Repliesi am working on an asp.net mvc 2 web app and i have ran into an issue. I have implemented client side validation using Html.EnableClientValidation() in my View page for providing the site users the ability to submit or cancel some form fields back to the server database. For this i have implemented an Html.BeginForm() along with 2 submit buttons. One with "Ok" and the other with "Cancel" text.
The ok/cancel funcionality is handled server-side from the controller action. The result is that the form fileds are client-validated when the user clicks the cancel button and this is not what he would expect.
how could avoid this issue? Of cource i could remove the submti cancel button from the form and implement it via an Html action link, but i would prefer finding a solution using the first approach.
I have a TextBox with AutoPostback="true" and an AutocompleteExtender for the textbox.
My problem is following:
- I type a text in the textbox;
- Autocomplete shows item list;
- If I click out item list (somewhere on the page) - the autocomplete cause postback.
How can I prevent this behaviour?
I need AutoPostback="True" because if I don't select any autocomplete item and press enter in the textbox, it should make search also. And, if search is completed and I change prev text and press enter again, it causes event on the first button in the search result (like Add button) but not on the textbox.
I created a web part called 'staff phone search'. There are two controls 'Button' and 'Textbox' in it. The web part is inherited from Webcontrols webpart class not from sharepoint web part.My problem is that if I fill the search keyword text box and click the button, the text box and the button disappear. However the webpart displays result properly. Subsequently I am not able to search again because the web part never shows the controls again. How can I keep the controls after the webpart is submitted?

I have an AutoCompleteExtender control tied to a textbox. If the user starts typing in it, a drop down pops up displaying the a list with the matching suggestions. If, while the list is being displayed, the user hits the Tab key, the textbox loses focus and its value gets overwritten with whatever choice was highlighted in the list.
The problem is when the user clicks outside the list, I want to achieve the same behavior. It currently keeps whatever the user had typed (before the choice list pops up), but I would like for the textbox to get the value of the last highlighted choice (just as if they hit Tab).
I'm able to capture the event, when the user clicks outside the list, but I can't seem to find how to get to the highlighted value from the choice list.
I have the SelectIndexChanged event wired to my CheckListBox but it does not fire when the last item is unchecked. Is that a bug or do I have to set some property that would alow the event to be fired.

Note that <reply> is a button in a template field. I would like to know how is it possible to catch the From value of the row when reply button is clicked from the same row in the grid. I want to pass this from value to a modal dialog which i have already created. How is that possible.

In ASP.NET when we have multiple input section with required field validator (Like on header for login with userid & Password is required and second on footer for subscription) when we click on subscription login section's userid required field validator activates and say userid required & i can not submit subscription.
when i submit subscription details login section should not have concern with this. how to avoid this conflicts.

coz the dropdownlist is binded from database using sqldatasource n filter based on user selected PO no.

View 6 RepliesI have a list with 2 sorts of items. Items that have actual values (1,2,3,4 etc) and items that are like group headings so all their values are set to 0. If someone decides to select a group heading - which has a value of 0, is it possible to redirect them to my 'Select an item' item which has a value of ""?
If worse comes to worse, I can just reconstruct the entire list, although if possible I'd like to avoid it.
I have a project that queries a set of times from a database and uses these entries to populate a dropdownlist. Once the page is loaded, the user can select one of the items in the DropDownList. When the "Save" button is clicked, the Selected item value is returned to the [HttpPost] version of the controller action. This item is then stored into session. If the system returns to the page containing the dropdown, I want the saved Value to be selected in the DropDownList. What actually happens is that the DropDownList is always set to be the first item in the list.

I use a ItemDataBound for a repeater.But i use 2 kinds of linq querys to bind it.Some of them has a MerkID, and some doesnt have this item.So its easy i need to do this:

So of course the if selection doesnt work, but how can i do that? I already tryed this:
DataRowView drv = (DataRowView)e.Item.DataItem; if (drv.Row.Table.Columns.Contains("MerkID"))
But that doenst work because he cant convert it to a datarowview because its a linq class.So what to do? Right now i use a try and catch, but there are better solutions i guess...
