How do you get dropdown lists to refresh after a submit button has been clicked and the radgrid has been populated? Basically I have built a search tool which allows users to select the items from a dropdown list, click a button their results are displayed in a grid. However, currently it won't allow users to carry out a second search. It it a rebinding issue?

i am working on an asp.net mvc 2 web app and i have ran into an issue. I have implemented client side validation using Html.EnableClientValidation() in my View page for providing the site users the ability to submit or cancel some form fields back to the server database. For this i have implemented an Html.BeginForm() along with 2 submit buttons. One with "Ok" and the other with "Cancel" text.
The ok/cancel funcionality is handled server-side from the controller action. The result is that the form fileds are client-validated when the user clicks the cancel button and this is not what he would expect.
how could avoid this issue? Of cource i could remove the submti cancel button from the form and implement it via an Html action link, but i would prefer finding a solution using the first approach.
can i refresh a page when a button i clicked?

I'm having a SQL table with 4 textboxes and a drpdown list values as columns and i need to insert them into the database. i previously worked on the same requirement where i've collected multiple values frm a listbox control and looped all the selected items and comma seperated them and inserted them into table(here the case is different, there is only one row so it became simple and straight forward during insertion). Now i need to loop throguh all the 4 textbxes which user enters and need to insert those 4 textboxes values into DB under same columns.

View 1 RepliesI created a web part called 'staff phone search'. There are two controls 'Button' and 'Textbox' in it. The web part is inherited from Webcontrols webpart class not from sharepoint web part.My problem is that if I fill the search keyword text box and click the button, the text box and the button disappear. However the webpart displays result properly. Subsequently I am not able to search again because the web part never shows the controls again. How can I keep the controls after the webpart is submitted?

I have a button that has click event in my C#. This works great. However afetr pressing F5 to refresh the page I noticed the button event is fired. This occurs every time I click F5. I've added if(page.IsPostBack) and the method still runs.
Is there any way to stop method from firing when the F5 Refresh button is clicked?

I have a web form with some labels, textboxes, buttons and a gridview. The gridview has AllowPaging ="true". Girdview displays record numbers (hyperlinked), When I click on a record number in the grid view it populates textbox1. Then I hit the 'Search button to auto populate the form the that record data from the database.
My problem is when I am on say 5th page on my grid view and click a record number to go in textbox1, and then click on the search button to auto populate the form, the gridview goes back to page 1.
How do I make the search button not reset/refresh the gridview?
I have a user control and inside that user control I have a image button on whose click I am opening a modalpopup extender(which is another user control) I am populating all the values in drop down list and getting all the information i need on the form. The user and go and save the information required on that web form and clicking on cancel would exit the form which would bring the user back to the main user control.
The problems faced:
1.Problem 1: Not refreshing On clicking on tree view one of the nodes I am calling the reload function of parent user control as well as the user control present as popupextender. This click would refresh and fill in the values from the database for user to view and edit. Now when the user clicks on the image button another user control opens up where he can edit the entire values of the form and move back and forth in the records I have put update panels for every block and for the buttons. He can save the information. But when he exits and form and reopens it after a while the values of the form are retained the values which are not saved to the database but the ones which were selected so it is retaining them and not refreshing. How can I force the refresh everytime the button is clicked for modalpopup extender user control.
2. Problem 2 enable/disable buttons I am not able to enable and disable the buttons inside the extender the buttons are in the update panel as well as for the different sections of the form.
I have an self-referencing entity which maintains a list of like entities that are it's children. What I need to do is build a dropdown that lists all possible parents so when I add or edit a new entity of that type, I can select it's parent (or no parent). The problem lies in the sql. I simply don't know how to word it.

Whenever a new value in the dropdownlist is selected I would like to set all of the dropdownlists in the gridview to that same value via javascript. (Yea both the dropdownlist outside the gird and the ones inside the grid are populated by the same data source)

When clicking on the dropdown I get an alert that says "test" and an alert that says "[Object object]" However nothing happens with the dropdowns in the grid and the alert(i) never fires.

I am calling a list of populate functions in a !page.isPostBack if statement and the only one that is not getting the data is this one with the Drown Lists. It gets the number of Rows(18) from the database, but it it throwing a Null error(Object reference not set to an instance of an object.) I have seen quite a few people have been running into this error while googling the problem, however I could not find a solution that worked for me. The PreloadHardDriveRepeater function seems to work fine when run alone it loads the correct amount of DDL's onto the page.

I have a simple web form which has 3 dropdown lists making date of birth dd mmm yyyy. The form itself is inside an update panel. The 3 lists are populated once on page load, list 1 has 31 days, list 2, 12 months and list 3, 82 years. The strange behaviour affects list 1 - (days) and list 3 (years). When I select an item from the list which is outside the viewing window via the scrollbar (20 is outside 19 is the last in the list) and press the validate button the whole page flickers. The same behavious occurs in list 3. It doesn't occur in list 2 because the viewing windown is large enough for all 12 months. If I then select an item within the window, the flickering stops.

They load depending on what the previous dropdown selection was so for example if the system was car based and I had chosen Ford then the next dropdown list would populate all cars made only by Ford.
