Sep 13, 2010I am having 2 (dept name, City)dropdownlist, 1 Save button once if we click the save then record will be displayed in grid (Gridview with ShowEditbutton =true and I have Edit logic in my page). But if I click on Edit button then if I try to update the value then it is firing a message "Select dept" because dept dropdown present in the page so I want to make cause validation false for Show Edit buttons (update and cancel).

Jan 24, 2011I have a search textbox and two image buttons on a page I created with ASP.NET.
When I look at the page with either IE8, Google Chrome or Opera, the textbox does not align with the two image buttons. The buttons appear higher than the textbox and I can't tell why.
Here is the key markup:

NOTE: I realize there are a few strange things here such as no quotes around the ids. But there ARE quotes around them in my source. The above snippet is from saving the content from IE and it made a number of changes to the markup.

But when running the code, an error message is showed saying that there where no changes to the GridView. This should probably be because the textbox in the gridview is never declared as a datasource for the gridview. How do i make the TextBox in the gridview template a datasource?

In the OnSelectedIndexChange event I want to update two of the cells in the gridview with the Technician hourly rates. I know that from a database perspective it would be better to keep this data relational but that is not really an option here. I have gotten everything to work with the exception of actually populating the Gridview cells. If possible I would like to do it right in the OnSelectedIndexChange event but I have not been able to reference the cells.

Want to display enough to make it readable without wasting space on the screen. Can't believe this mechanism is not built in but have researched & see I may have to count lines then set the "number of row" property.
Question 1: Should this be done in databound or rowdatabound event?
