I want to do something like netflix, where when you hover over something like a hyperlink (netflix, is an image) a panel displays, when the mouse moves off of the control, the panel hides itself.Any suggestions on how to do this and with which control? The AnimationExtender will display the panel, but won't close the panel as I am limited to one Animation.
I have a panel which is of a fixed size and in the panel I have a hyperlink. How can I make it so the user can click anywhere in the panel to activate the hyperlink click?
I am adding a click event (display alert on click) to a html hyperlink inside an UpdatePanel on document(ready). However, the event never gets fired when I click the hyperlink. Is it because of ASync postback? What is the correct way to do this?
The CMS I use struggles with UpdatePanels in some of my custom controls and master pages during edits. I'd like to convert them dynamically to regular panels on Page_Load or Page_Init or something based on whether the page is being edited.
I'd like to convert all the UpdatePanels on a page to Panels dynamically. Finding the UpdatePanels isn't an issue, all my pages inherit from a common base class, and all my controls inherit from a common base class -- so I can override the Page_Init or whatever.
I suspect I can't covert the UpdatePanel to a regular Panel. I thought about maybe finding the UpdatePanel, adding a Panel to the UpdatePanel's parent, then looping through each of the UpdatePanel's controls and adding them to the new Panel, then removing the UpdatePanel.
But if I add a new Panel, it'll be at the end, can you add a Panel in the middle... maybe with Insert? This shouldn't be difficult, but am I making it too difficult? Is there a simpler way? Anybody ever done stuff like this?
Update I ended up override the OnInit function on my MasterPage base class to readd the UpdatePanel to the ScriptManager after it moved per Philippe's comment on [URL]
protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) { if (Page is CMSPage && Page.IsDesignMode()) { foreach (UpdatePanel up in this.FindControls<UpdatePanel>())
The javascript generated by the asp.net SciptManager control seems to have a bug and cant handle hidden UpdatePanels. A javascript error is thrown when a control within one updated panel tries to make another update panel visible. Is this a bug with ASP.Net ajax? And does anyone have any ideas how to get around this? heres is an example of what im trying to do
this is the javascript error that gets thrown when clicking on the "LinkButton1" link. This error comes from the javascript that is generated by the asp.net ScriptManager control
Error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Could not find UpdatePanel with ID 'ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_UpdatePanel2'
i have a gridview in updatepannel, i want to display selected row's content in a text box which is outside the pannel. at the time of selection nothing appear in textbox. but if i put gridview outside the pannel then code works fine.
I have a gridview that putted in ASP.NET Panel. both of panel and Gridview are in an UpdatePanel. there is a column in gridview that Causes Partial PostBacks. i want to Maintain Panel Scroll position on those postbacks.
I've exempted the irrelevant bits of code. Essentially, I am trying to change the URL of an image control inside of an update panel inside of a custom user control from a function called inside an update panel from my main page. Using UpdatePanel.Update() isn't working: I end up waiting for the next full page POST to occur before all the updates I make to CustomControl from buttons within the main page's update panel are visible. I verified that Update() was being called via the debugger: there are no issues in that department.
Here, you can see Custom Control and the Button declared. The button is in an update panel to avoid giving a full POST and causing the whole page to reload.
This control stores images within their own seperate update panels because rerendering the images is very slow (it requires processing arrays of millions of datapoints) and the user only ever needs to modify one image at a time. I'm using Image1 as an example.
I am having a weird issue with the update panels. I have an update panel in UpdateMode = Conditional . I have a dropdown list and a grid view..the gridview has to be updated ÖnSelectionChanged event on the dropdown.
The issue here is on changing the selection on dropdown, the onselectionchanged event is triggered, new data is grabbed, bound to gridview..but does nt update the update panel even after the updatepanel.update();
how to "discover" hyperlink in some text and convert that hyperlink in html hyperlink with asp.net (or javascript). For example, if a user enter this text:
You found it at [URL]
How can i found and convert in html like :
You found it at <a href='http://www.foo.com'>http....</a>
I have two update panels and one javascript control.
When the javascript button is clicked, it forces a partial postback on UpdatePanel2. UpdatePanel2 is populated with dynamically created buttons that have javascript effects (jquery) but when click can also induce a postback. My problem is that, when clicking on these dynamic buttons, the whole page does not do a partial post back but rather UpdatePanel2 itself does a partial postback and everything is gone.
However, what I want to do is be able to tie each of the dynamic buttons in UpdatePanel2 (After being dynamically created) and make them an asychnonous triggers to UpdatePanel1. So that when clicking on these dynamic buttons, ONLY UpdatePanel1 is doing a partial postback refresh. UpdatePanel2 stays put and remains the same.
