I have a TextBox control reside in a Wizard control which is inside the InsertTemplate of Formview control. I am trying to set the blur function of this TextBox control with the following code -
jquery "blur" function not working in my MVC 2 NerdDinner app
Background:
When I click my 'Host a Meeting' tab then insert an address into the 'Address' field then tab out, nothing happens. I currently have to manually insert the Latitude and Longitude >>> save the meeting >>> then click edit in order to have the map actually load the pin.
As per the following paragraph (from ScottGu's tutorial) I'm supposed to be able to simply "tab out of the 'Address' field" to load the map with the appropriate location: "When we type in an address, and then tab away, the map will dynamically update to display the location, and our event handler will populate the latitude/longitude textboxes with the location values:"

I have a textbox with a calendarextender and if I type in a partial date it automatically fills in the rest of the date with today's day/year. For example, if I just type in 5 and hit tab, it will fill in 5/23/2010. How can I prevent this from occurring, so that when the user tabs out of the field, only the numbers they have typed in will remain, and trigger some validation?
i am using a jquery progress bar, and i want to dynamically generate the max field with text from a text box control, is this possible and what would i use
I have a textbox in one grid-view column where upon entering a particular value and losing focus of the textbox, should post to the server to get the text validated through a server-side method. If the entry is valid, a result set to fill rest of row cells would be returned, else the bgcolor of the textbox needs to be changed to Red.
I tried posting back through the obvious way, i.e. making the textbox's autopostback as true and wiring up a server-side OnTextChanged event handler to validate the entered value.
It is working with this setup, but is also affecting the remaining page controls behaviour. For example, if I click a button in some other grid after entering some text in the textbox, the OnTextChanged handler gets called thus preventing the button's click event, which I also wish to call to execute its functionality.
I have a sample I got from the web (link is in the code). It colors the background on a control's contents if they've changed (visible change indication for the user). However, when I change a textbox to Multiline it fails. How can I fix this?

How do I execute an JavaScript function right when an ASP.NET text box control is populated and focus is still set? The onChange event will not work because I need to programmatically move focus to the next form element after the JavaScript function has executed.
Is is very similar to this question. The marked answer is correct for the context on the question, but after some more testing it did not exactly solve my current issue.
...where [HERE] is the placeholder for my value, from my code behind in ASP.NET before the page is rendered. I generate a guid, and I need that apart of the script on the page.

I have a textbox which can be left blank or contain a date. If the textbox has a date I want the 2nd textbox's value to be set to the value of a session variable. I need this to happen before the update sql is performed on postback.
This is the code I have. But the textbox is coming back as nothing. Whether it has a value in it or not.
using vb.net/asp.net 2005 after the user clicks on a button in the buttonClick event I am trying to set the focus at the end of the function simply as follows:
[Code]....
However the focus is instead going to another button. The tabIndex property is not set on any controls on the page.
I created a page with several controls (ddl, tbx) that I use for filtering a Gridview. I created a javascript function that runs on the OnClientClick Event of an <asp:button to set the value of an <asp:TextBox to today and a Selected Value in a ddl.
function setMyToday() { var tbxToday = document.getElementById('ctl00_cntPage_tbxToday'); var tbxUID = document.getElementById('ctl00_cntPage_tbxUserID'); var ddlPV = document.getElementById('ctl00_cntPage_ddlProvider'); tbxToday.value = makeToday(); ddlPV.value = tbxUID.value; }
The button submits the page and returns some records in a Gridview. I can see the value in the tbxToday when the button is clicked and the row in the drop down list, but when the page is posted,the value in the text bos is lost and as a result is not used to filter the records. However the value in the ddlProvider is maintained.
Not sure if theres a way I can assign a certain size to this either by css or by Jquery? Or if I can do it directly in my C# code using something like img.Style?
EDIT:
Just to clarify my css is like so:
div .test { width:90%; z-index:1; padding:27.5px; border-top: thin solid #736F6E;
[Code]....
So how would I use the below answers in this combination
