Now i'm trying to get lbl1 Text value in getValue() function, but can't accomplish it, i'm new to jQuery and I have to use it, any considerations how can I make this work?
i m having a bit of trouble here with .. i am changing the text from a dropdown inside the gridview to a cell inside that perticular row.... the code for the jquery i hav used to alter the text is :
[Code]....
the corresponding gridview is :
[Code]....
now after the text is changed into the corresponding cell ... i m trying to access it as per normal server side code as :
I haven't been able to find it if there is. Note - my issue is with a background-color, not a background image. Anyway, after having spent most of an entire day trying to fix this problem & unsuccessfully sourcing help on the web I thought now that I've managed to resolve my issue I'd post my solution here to keep someone from suffering the same headache.
Basically in my asp.net solution I have a div which has a mouseover class toggle bound to it. Within that div I have several divs which contain HtmlAnchors & Images (<div><a><img /></a><div>). These divs also have a class toggle bound to them. So, herein lies the issue:
[Code]....
when skipping between the .Div2s, '.Div1' would suffer from a flicker which looked terrible. (This only happened in internet explorer!) The fix I finally came up with was to set a timeout on the class-toggle of .Div1
[Code]....
This works for me in ie6-8! Phew! Time to get away from my computer.
i am having and by using jquery ineed to assign another text "hello" to the label "lbl" through the jquery. and if we access the label "lbl" the text "hello" should come because the value "hai" is replaced with "hello" and if we write the below line i should get the new modified lable in aspx.cs file
I have a nested gridview with 45 checkboxes. I want the user to be able to click a checkbox and have that value held in a separate gridview until they wish to act on it (similar to a shopping cart).
The checkboxes are nested in a 2nd level gridview behind a repeater.
I was having a heck of a time trying to get the value of the checkbox that deep and want to learn jQuery and thought this is a good time. What I was thinking was the user would click the checkbox, jQuery would get the id of the control (and value), I could then pass that to a ajax postback trigger and fill the 'shopping cart' gridview. The reason why I need to go through ajax is I need to get more values from a database based on the user selected checkbox. I think I could take it from there. My biggest problem right now is figuring out how to get the id and value from the checkbox.
I came across a page that showed a solution for freezing the top (header) row of a gridview and allowed it to be scrollable. Here is the article: [URL] ....
It works and I was able to freeze the top row! However, I have a nested gridview ("gridview2") within that gridview ("gridview1") and I need to freeze it's header row...but I am encountering the following compilation error: "The name 'gridview2' does not exist in the current context"
I have tried many approaches to solve this, including calling the javascript function on the button event in which gridview2 is displayed, however I receive the compile error every time.
I have a gridview and the content of the gridview are EMPLOYEEID, SALARY, DEPARTMENT and I have one textbox and the id of it is txtEmployeeID. Now the question is if I'm going to type in the txtEmployeeID, it will be the same in the textbox inside the gridview.
And the gridview what I'm taking about is: [URL] ....
How can I trigger a jQuery function with the Gridview Select button?
I want that the select button trigger the jquery function that has the row details (it's already working with a asp:buttonfield ), and select the row so i can get the values and send it trough e-mail with another button. I don't know if this is possible.
Can I trigger the jQuery function from code behind with the select button Sub? How?

how to user gridview templete field in jquery auto search.
I have ajax accordion with 6 panes with an user control inside each of it. In the first pane I have a form view user control and have a modalpopup to display error message. The same method is used in all other panes.
On page load I was able to set the label text property and it properly shows in modal popup.
However whenever I do some validation and update label text property, the modal popup shows up but the label text property is not updated. It works in all other panes.
The only difference is the user control in the pane is inside of a update panel. If I remove the update panel every thing works fine. But I need the update panel to avoid full post back.
How do I set the label text property inside of a modal popup.
i built an MVC application, in one of my views, i'm activating an ActionResult using JQuery.$post in this ActionResult i'm using RdirectToAction to another ActionResult, this ActionResult is really reached and executed, but when i'm trying to use another RdirectToAction from here, its not happened.
Im using LINQ2SQL and i have an object called Article. Its has 2 properties FinishText and SwedishText. The idea is to let the user choose language. Swedish is default.
I bind the objects to a listView and there is a label that takes the swedish language. When the user presses the Finish flag button i want the objects to reload and the finish text to show instead of the swedish. The problem is that the text label is bound to the SwedishText property in the mark up like this:
I can think of some ways to solve this, and i have one that doesnt work that well. My question is, what would be a good way to solve this? Im not so experienced so i know that there are lots of you out there that know how to do this much better.
Another problem i dont like my solution to is when i have an object that has a association with my Article object, like ArticleCategory. The ArticleCategoryId of my Article is, lets say 31, which is corresponds to the category "Movies". I dont want to display the category id but rather the name of the category itself (Movies).
So this is what i do: <%#GetCategoryNameFromId(DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Article_Id"))%>
I call a method that recreates the artice object and from there creates the ArticleCategory and gets the name from it. Its a horrible solution cause it involves lots of trips to the Database. Especially since i do similar things with other properties.
Just wanted to hear what is a proper and good way to deal with these common but for me new tasks.
I am using jquery quicksearch to filter a gridview. As i enter the search text in a text box the column width of the body of the gridview keeps changing and does not align with the header width for the respective column. How do I lock the column width of the gridvew so it remains unchanged?
