I was having a heck of a time trying to get the value of the checkbox that deep and want to learn jQuery and thought this is a good time. What I was thinking was the user would click the checkbox, jQuery would get the id of the control (and value), I could then pass that to a ajax postback trigger and fill the 'shopping cart' gridview. The reason why I need to go through ajax is I need to get more values from a database based on the user selected checkbox. I think I could take it from there. My biggest problem right now is figuring out how to get the id and value from the checkbox.
my page are 1 checkbox and 1 hidden label and 1 hidden panel. With the help of forum member raghav_khunger I've managed to write the code which shows panel and label when checkBox is checked. I've also added the code which is checking on every page post back the status of checkbox and hide/show panel and label appropriately. This is working fine. However when I add jQuery Safari checkbox plugin [URL] problems appear.
Looks like the code which is handling click event is doing reverse thing: when panel and label should be hidden are shown. I can change this but then there would be problems because of the second part of the code which is checking checkbox on page load. So when I check the checkbox nothing happens. I must uncheck it and label and panel appears. But if panel is uncheck the label and panel would be hidden because on next page load (when user clicks button next). As I said before the same code is working fine and it's test in all browsers (IE,FF,O,S,C). Maybe there is problem with checkbox plugin since it's in beta version.
I came across a page that showed a solution for freezing the top (header) row of a gridview and allowed it to be scrollable. Here is the article: [URL] ....
It works and I was able to freeze the top row! However, I have a nested gridview ("gridview2") within that gridview ("gridview1") and I need to freeze it's header row...but I am encountering the following compilation error: "The name 'gridview2' does not exist in the current context"
I'm trying to create a nested gridview, but I'm stuck at the editing/deleting part of the nested gridview. (Below is my code). The nested gridviews are filling out nice, I've set the DeleteParameter in the SQLDataSource, but I'm still getting this error when trying to delete a criteria: 'The Gridview 'gvCriteria' fired event RowDeleting which wasn't handled.'I've tried to create a method 'gvCriteria_RowDeleting', but that didn't seem to work out.Someone who can give me a piece of advice? Would it be possible to fill the gridview without using gvDomain_rowDataBound? Dries

I have an ASP.NET web form that has 6 checkbox. 1 checkbox is to call a Function to select all checkbox and show the message "You have selected" 6 "items" (in this case, 6 checkbox). If a user doesn't select the Select All checkbox, they can select or deselect other checkbox individually and the message will be "You have selected" # "items" I'm trying to do this in jQuery, but it's not working yet. Here's the script:
The CSS class CheckBoxClass is not with the HTML input, that's why I'm looking for checkbox Id instead of checkbox class.
Is there a better, cleaner way to do this in ASP.NET 2.0?
An ASP.NET 2.0 page displays a datalist of records. Each record can have many dates, so the dates are in a nested gridview (I chose a gridview over a datalist here because we want to be able to delete a date and this is easier done in a gridview). The parent record can never be deleted.
The display works fine: the nested gridview gets its datasource during the parent datalist's OnItemDataBound event.
The problem: the nested gridview's delete function. The date gets deleted without a problem (handled in the OnRowDeleting event), but somehow the redisplay is untying all the other nested gridviews from their datasources. The delete does not appear to cause a page postback, so I don't know how the other nested gridviews are losing their datasources.
I have a grid view with two columns A and B. Column A has Checkboxes and Column B has numeric values(int). When user checked checkboxes the checked checkboxes column B have to added and displayed in a Label.
I haven't been able to find it if there is. Note - my issue is with a background-color, not a background image. Anyway, after having spent most of an entire day trying to fix this problem & unsuccessfully sourcing help on the web I thought now that I've managed to resolve my issue I'd post my solution here to keep someone from suffering the same headache.
Basically in my asp.net solution I have a div which has a mouseover class toggle bound to it. Within that div I have several divs which contain HtmlAnchors & Images (<div><a><img /></a><div>). These divs also have a class toggle bound to them. So, herein lies the issue:
when skipping between the .Div2s, '.Div1' would suffer from a flicker which looked terrible. (This only happened in internet explorer!) The fix I finally came up with was to set a timeout on the class-toggle of .Div1
This works for me in ie6-8! Phew! Time to get away from my computer.
In Nested Grid, we get a '+' sign. The problem is that '+' sign appears all times, even if there are no child records for that row. 1. Can we enable/disable OR Hide/Unhide '+' sign. depending on if child rows exits.2. OR alteast we can put some bgcolor indicating to user that this record do have child rows. Without any indicator user may feel quite annoying to click on '+' sign and nothing happens.
I have a situation where i have unchecked all checkbox from a panel which havs some nested panels. I am able to clear checkboxes from main panel but nested panel's checkbox remain unchanged. My code is
I have designed a collapsible nested gridview project using this article as a reference Collapsible Nested GridView with Paging using ASP.Net. I am trying to modify the code to collapse a gridview when another gridview is expanded so that only one nested gridview will be open at a time.
