JavaScript - IE Slowing Down After Updatepanel Partial Update?

I'm trying to place a user control inside an UpdatePanel.
When the control is displayed, typing inside the TextBoxes has a large delay while in IE (6 & 8). FireFow has an excellent performance. Not only typing, but also scrolling etc experience a large delay up to a few secons.
The usercontrol(s) contain quite a lot of javascript functions that are re-registered using the ScriptManager.RegisterScriptBlock or RegisterStartupScript functions.
why typing becomes so very slow? I believe it has to do something with memory leaking due to the re-registering of the jQuery functions. But I'm unable to find the source of it.

I want to make auto partial page refresh in asp.net. There is UpdatePanel but it sends too much data. So I've found that I can make a webservice and call it by the JavaScript code. But I don't know how to call webservice automatic. There are many examples showing how to call webservice by the button click event:

I have a simple form (textbox, submit button) which is wrapped in an update panel.

I type some text in the textbox, click submit, then the server creates a database record and returns an object, which has properties like ID, Name, URL, Blah, etc. These are the values that the script requires.
So if i were to call a web service from the client-code, in order to get the values that were just created, i would need to do some hacks (get last record modified that has the value of the textbox). Not ideal, and neither is two AJAX calls for one form post. (update panel postback, then web service call).

I am having problems selecting the text within a TextBox in an UpdatePanel in IE 8. Consider a very simple page that contains a single UpdatePanel. Within that UpdatePanel there are two Web controls:
A DropDownList with three statically-defined list items, whose AutoPostBack property is set to True, and
A TextBox Web control

[URL] .... am using this functionality in my project and it is working very fine but i am facing very strange issue while using this.
The above functionality is not working when we place dropdownlist and textbox inside updatePanel and ModalPopupExtender

my problem as follow:
1-i have UpdatePanel contain Gridview
2- i have Ajax Control ToolKit HTML Editor OutSide My UpdatePanel and its not inside any control.
my problem when make HTMLedior (visible=false ) onpage event, MyupdatePanel Render Control Much Fast, but when i Make it visible its slow my application althougth this htmleditor not included in any update panel and its not refreshed.

Ive came into a problem when using partial page update. The javascript doesn't fellow. What i want to do is when i call a partial page update some of the update have controls that require a javascript code to be executed. When the partial update is done that javascript isnt here and cannot be found. So what is the best way to make a javascript file to fellow a partial page update ?

lets say I've got a function that iterates over an array. The function is outside the updatepanel, the array is defined within the update panel. The items of the array are dynamically created. On the first try I've realized, that the values of the array do not update when the update panel loads again.

Is it possible to update an UpdatePanel manually using JavaScript or jQuery?
What I have is a TextBox at the top of my page. When a user leaves that TextBox I want to run some server code (it will add a record to my database) then at the bottom of the page I have an UpdatePanel which will get refreshed. The UpdatePanel has a GridView which will have an entry for the record added)

I want a Javascript function to be called automatically after the UpdatePanel has finished updating its contents. I don't want to use:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest
and then call a JS function. This is because I have more than one update panels and I'll have to write all the condions to check which UpdatePanel was actually called and then do something. Can something be done using Triggers in UpdatePanel. Kindly let me know how this can be done.
It would be great of you could post a sample code too.

i have a website with three UpdatePanel Control and inside of each UpdatePanels has ONE Gridview and a SqlDataSource Control.
all gridviews are connected to its own SqlDataSource Control. so technically when i run my website all gridviews automatically get their data from their respective SqlDataSource Control and display them accordingly.
but what i need to do is instead of letting all the update panels to load each gridview their data upon Onload event, i need the updatepanel to update on queue, (Technically changing the UpdateMode to Conditional does not solve my problem.) there will be an event which will trigger the updatepanel to update later.

I am building a system for a school project. I currently have several Update Panels on the page that have many different controls on them. I also have a single Label control that i use to display messages to the user. I would like to have this label within an update panel also but there are literally hundreds of triggers that would require it to be updated and i dont want to type an absurd number of triggers for this one control.Is there a way for me to have this one panel update regardless of what happens?

Is is possible to initiate a partial page update whenever a client makes an update (say inserrting a record) and this will update the panel of all clients who are actually viewing the page ie eliminate the use of a timer control to refresh the panel each second because am getting many problems when using timercontrol.

I have a script inside an updatepanel. This script needs to be inside the updatepanel as it must be located in that spot.
Now when we click the "LinkButton" to update the updatepanel, the script will dissapear.
It seems that the script only is initiazed on the first Page_Load and Refresh of the page.
How can we keep it when pressing the "LinkButton"?

i am using a TabContainer and at each TabPanel i have embed an UpdatePanel in order to update each tab alone.
this is my code:

the problem is that it makes several seconds to update each tab (the same time for every tab) and i asume that this is happening because it updates all the TabContainer and not the selected Tab.

I am trying to trying to setup an updatepanel to update every X seconds, the problem is I don't want the control to actually refresh unless there is new data. So I currently have a child updatepanel in a parent UpdatePanel, the child updatepanel gets refreshed by a timer. But I can't seem to find a way to trigger the parent panel to update. Again, only when certain conditions(data changed) are met.

i got a strange problem. my project was ok before implimenting ajax. i have just implimented ajax in one page only with Tabcontainer and updatepanels only nothing else. almost all controls are devided into different Tabs with respective update panels.
mostly it is working ok. but the problem is :
1. in some controls i am not able to write anything even the control is "Enabled=True" and focus is on the same control after partial postback.
2. and as soon as i press Tab control goes to Address bar.
3. some time tab key is also not working.

as soon as i type inception date; expirydate is automatically calculated and focus should come to sumassured. after this it should allowed to enter sumassured amount, which is not allowing to write.
As soon as i change tab and come back to original tab then i can write values normaly.

I've created a dynamic button from another control outside of the update Panel. The button is given an ID and such. When the button is click, a postback occurs and I've re-created this button during Page_Init, Page_PreLoad, and Page_Onload and NONE of them is preserving the value.
The only way for me to find the control was to look at the Page.request.form's allkeys and compare the string with a any text string that contains: Button. Because I ID'd teh button as: ButtonRow_0Col0. But the actual ID is null. However, when traversing through page.request.form, the allkeys shows that ID with no problem.
So how come the actual ID is lost after a partial postback yet, the page.request.form's allkeys can pull out its allkey's value??
