Load Image Path In Code?
Jan 6, 2011
in my source view of my web page I am using some images. Right now I use the code:
HTML Code:
<img class="smallIcon" src="skins/itsoft-images/small-icon.png" alt="Small Icon" width="20px" height="20px" />
I use this image many times in my pages, as well as other images. I don't want to use a path like this because if I ever change the location of the images, I will have to update a hundred pages.I would like to place the path to the image in my web.config file, and have the code load from there. I'm use to doing it in PHP but I can't figure it out in .Net.
Something like:
HTML Code:
<img class="smallIcon" src="<%@ ICON_FILE_DIR %>" alt="Small Icon" width="20px" height="20px" />
Is that even possible?

i have an aspx with the following code (i don't want to bother you with unecessary additional code but basically the page will contact a remote proxy server and try to authenticate some requests and then redirect back to another page based on the response status)
[Code]....
How can i display a loading gif image before completion of the code behind code.
ps: if you can post some real code examples, not just concepts and how to do... i've tried many things so far without success, including pre-loading images using javascript and MS AJAX toolkit stuff.

Have a look at below link. In that page if you mouse over on any thumbnail image a div opens with that image details with larger size. But there is a point to notice usually when an image gets downloaded in the browser we see that the image loads in parts from top to bottom. In this case the whole is loaded but in blurred state and gets cleared after fully downloaded.

I just wanted to know how this is achived? Does it require to code something or it is any javascript or dhtml?

I have an XML file named PageData.xml in my App_Data folder. I want to populate an XDocument with this file using XDocument.Load.
If I supply the full physical path it works, i.e.:
XDocument vXDoc = XDocument.Load("/Work/Project/Web/100413 Dev/App_Data/PageData.xml");
...where "Work" is a folder on my C: drive.
If I try a relative path like this, though, I get a DirectoryNotFoundException:
XDocument vXDoc = XDocument.Load("AppData/PageData.xml");
"Could not find a part of the path 'C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesMicrosoft SharedDevServer10.0AppDataPageData.xml'."
This is obviously wrong, but there must be an easy way to set the correct relative path?

1. browse to and select a jpg image
2. preview the image that the user just selected
3. if the user is happy with the preview then click the GO button to load the image to the Image folder.Does anyone have any good examples or sample code of how to do this?

I want to have an ASP C# WebSite that loads a simple CSV File and present it in a GridView control (at least for a start).
I already have a piece of code that do almost all of the work, what i miss / unable to make it work is setting correctly the "Data Source".
The CSV file that I want to load is located on different server in the network (path is " d47vcpublicJoeASPTest").
Here is the code I wrote:
[code]...
I get the following error:
'd47vcpublicJoeASPTest' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.

I have a C# assembly that loads external files. This assembly is used by asp.net website. The following is the code that loads the data files
string dataDirectory = Path.Combine(Path.GetDirectoryName(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location),"data"); filePath = Path.Combine(dataDirectory,_fileName);
The component works fine in a windows app, but when I tried to use it in an asp.net website, it fails as the site could not find the data files. And it gives me the following error:
C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv4.0.30319Temporary ASP.NET Filescmictranslatorsite20a8eddd864b2575assemblydl35bd4a35e8c6f79b6_98eccb01datafile.txt

i has an page, there i have to export the file under the same virtual directory and have to save that saved location to the Database table, below is my code
string strFilePath = FileUploadAddProduct1Image.PostedFile.FileName;
string strFileFormat = Path.GetExtension(FileUploadAddProduct1Image.PostedFile.FileName);
string strFileSize = Convert.ToString(FileUploadAddProduct1Image.PostedFile.ContentLength);
//dtDateTime = objBusy.GetSpDate();
if (strFileFormat == ".jpg")
[Code]....
my doubt is by the above code the Table-Path seems D:WinnerVirdir1Imageimg1.jpeg then next i assign the same path to the image control but the image is not displaying, incase if i hosted to any other server then also it should work.

How can I hide/secure image path in asp.net? I don't want the user see image path directly.
I have googled with my problem and found the following URL:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/web-security/ImageObfuscation.aspx
On this page it suggests changing the image path like this:
<img ID='ImageControl'
src='ShowImage.axd?Path=<% EncryptString("C:Imagesimg.ext", Page) %>'
But if user copy this image src and paste it into their browser with the domain name then it will show image.

I have two images progress.png and completed.png. Depending on the status in the db table (In Progress of Complete), I want to display the appropriate image. What is the correct syntax for the IIF() statement within asp.net?
pseudocode:
<asp:image ImageUrl='<%# IIF(Eval("Status").Equals("In Progress")
display - 'images/progress.png')
else if status equals "Complete"
display - 'images/complete.png' %>' />
