I'm just getting started using Resharper with VS-2008, and one of the 'errors' it gave me was to localize a Label's text in the code-behind. I've worked with Localization before to Localize a website from english into french, but I don't understand what the benefit is to localizing beside that usage.

I have almost 10 web pages on my corporate website, built on 3.5 framework.
in order to localize my website do i need to create App_LocalResources folder?
Also do i need to move all my 10 webpages into the above folder or can i keep then outside too?
I found two resource files related to english and spanish languages on msdn web, do i need to add then to the App_LocalResources folder?

I've read the MSDN page describing the Localize control and read about the difference between designers in the following link:http://my.safaribooksonline.com/0321341384/app01lev2sec53 Still, I can't find any visual difference between the Localize and Literal control in the designer view of VS 2010.I've tried using explicit and implicit expressions in an aspx and the designer looks the same for both controls - shows the neutral culture resource.I've looked at the LocalizeDesigner code in reflector and the only thing the designer seems to localize is the HTML format of the outputed span control, and that seems irellevant to the designer.Can anyone attach a short example that demonstrate when the two controls behave differently?

I have a page with two textboxes (one for english and one for korean)..
I want users to be able to enter an english word or enter a korean word...

I thought I could simply change this using something like:

I am working on globalization project.In my search.aspx page I have PagedGridview.I has property called EmptyDataText which is set to "NoResults".(EmptyDataText="No Results")
How can I translate "No Results" Within EmptyDataText?I tried to create key both global and local resource file.
In my local resource I tried in search.aspx.fr-FR.resx I have
key called Search and its value is No Resu'dfd .Then in gridview I tried like
EmptyDataText=<%=GetLocalResourceObject("Search")
%>
But it is not working.
Then I tried using global resource
EmptyDataText=<%=Resources.Product.Seacrh%> where Product is resx(class)
<util:PagedGridView
ID="product"
runat="server" AllowPaging="true"
EmptyDataText="No Results"
AllowSorting="true"
PageSize="10"
OnPageIndexChanging="PageSearchResults"
AutoGenerateColumns="false"
OnRowCreated="HandleHeader"

I am currently designing a multi-tenant website where many clients will share the same code base but have their own "look-and-feel" to the site when the are logged in. This is nothing new, but I am looking for ideas on the best way to implement the solution using ASP.NET and MVC3 (which looks awesome).
The main thing I am looking at now is how to change the CSS style-sheet and text for the labels and static portions of the pages per client. So this would be something like localization where I would want to just have a string in the Razor template, like @FirstNameLabel and then at runtime it would grab the specific value setup for the logged in client for that variable.
I know I could implement this with a database, but I am just making sure there isn't some clever way to do this in .NET (I have been in the Java world for several years now). It seems like I could possibly use a variation of localization or globalization with ResourceManager, but I haven't found any examples that were not based on cultures, which I do not want/need at this time.

i do have more than one language being supported on my website and currently working with localization, which raises some question marks to me.
guess, i have the following line(s) of code for a button:
<asp:button id="btnSubmit" style="left: 245px; position: absolute; width:100px"
onclick="OnBtnSendClicked" runat="server" text="Submit" tabindex="5">
</asp:button>
i do want to have 'text="Submit"' exchanged against something like
<%=GetGlobalResourceObject("Lokalisierung", "resSubmit")%>
as i am working with global resources. however this does not work as the button.text is filled with '<%=GetGlobalResourceObject("Lokalisierung", "resSubmit")%>' (without '').
note: 'Lokalisierung.resx' is my resource file already existing and perfectly working for other "things" here.
what is the correct syntax here?

how non English language input works with asp.net textboxes.
1. Can a regular asp.net textarea or a textbox accept text from languages other than English?
2. If yes, then how does the user enter non English language text
3. Is there a way to detect what language the user has entered text and make UI changes accordingly. (Ex: Make a button visible if non English text is entered)
4. Can non English text be stored in a varchar column in a SQL Server database? If not, how do I store this text?

Trying to localize text in ASP.NET labels... want to add a ':' after the localized text. I could just add the ':' to the localized text in the resource file, but that seems silly... there should be an easy way to do this.
<asp:Label id="RoleTypeLabel" runat="server" Text='<%$ Resources: GS3, RoleTypeLabel %>:' AssociatedControlID="RoleTypeDropDown"></asp:Label>
(note the ':' at the end of Text='...')
Of course, this doesn't work... and neither does anything I can think of to concatenate a ':' onto the end of the localized text.

I have developed a website in English, i want this application to be in arabic also. Say suppose there are 50 members 30 knew english and 20 knew arabic , when i open my application it should open to them in specific language.
my application will have many entry fields(name,address..) and buttons to save , search. The arabic text entered in textbox should be viewable by both english and arabic known guys in their respective language. (ie) the arabic text should be readable in english for english known person and in arabic for arabic known person and viceversa., so that 50 member details should be viewable to 50 persons in their language.
