MVC :: Differentiate View's Control And UserControl's Control In Controller?

I am new to MVC framework. I am having issue as follows,I am having "txtUsername" textbox inside my view (myView.aspx). The same control also avialble in my usercontrol(MyUserControl.ascx).In my view i am rendering this usercontrol as follows
<% = Html.Textbox("txtUsername")%>
<% Html.RenderPartialView("MyUserControl")%>
I am can able to access this both textbox in view and usercontrol in controller class as follows
ViewData["txtUsername"] = "Text from Controller";
Here how do i differentiate these controls. If i run the application both textbox from view and user control filled by the text"Text from Controller". I dont want to fill the text with view's textbox.

When a .NET server control is rendered in a browser it is rendered as a html control. Then how a browser differentiate between a server control and a html control. If the two control rendered as same then how server side events fire for a server control? If u say by using runat="server" attribute then also we can add runt="server" for html controls to work at server side... so then how these are recognized?

if I use a Html.Hidden field in my view, when the value click to submit the form I would like to pass this data to the controller. This variable would contain int as key and string as value,

I'm trying to setup a page that will utilize a dropdown list control inside of a grid view control using VS 2005 2.0 version. Everything that I can find online seems to only show the use of the dropdown list control using a data grid. I don't want to use a data grid because it doesn't have the functionality/ power as the grid view control. how I can incorporate a dropdown list control with the grid view control? Here is a copy of my code.

I have a simple model where a Person has Gifts. I have a view which is a list of Gifts belonging to one Person.
My problem is with the Create action for a new Gift. I want it to default to the PersonID that we are already viewing the list of Gifts for. I tried simply passing the last PersonID (they are all the same)
Html.ActionLink("Create New", "Create", new { id = Model.Last().PersonID }) which works fine if there is already at least one Gift for that person but if this is the first Gift I don't have a value.
My Gift List controller knows the PersonID I want to pass but the view doesn't.
How do I pass this PersonID from my Gift List controller to my Gift Create controller via the Gift List view? Or is there a better way to do this?

I am new to MVC, and trying something and got stuck somewhere in between.I have a user control there I have three textbox html type(ID, Lastname, firstname) and a submit buttom. I set the button like

I have called this usercontrol on some view through

Now on pressing that button(on user control) I need to pass the data from these textboxes to controller again to some specific action(Http Post action). By using this data I want to do some database interaction and storing the result in a dataset and pass this data set to same view again to show up in some Grid.I know the first part in conventional Asp.net can be done by raising the event through delegate but don't know how to do that in MVC.

When I put this control on a page it works just fine. I drag the slider, the labels update with the new values. However, I actually need a large number of these controls on my page (around 10-20 I think), and this is where the problems start. When I change the slider on one of these UserControls, it changes the text of only the labels in the LAST instance of this UserControl on the page. It seems that the 'document.getElementById' function actually searches through the entire page rather than just the one UserControl. How can I fix this? How can I get the two label controls from this current UserControl instance, and not any other instance on the page?

How do I access the Control (dropdownlist) in current Page from the UserControl? In the UserControl:

or
String test = ((DropDownList)this.Page.FindControl("drpdwnlstMainRegion")).SelectedValue;
It return null on ((DropDownList)this.Parent.FindControl("drpdwnlstMainRegion")) for some reason? BTW ... I am using ASP.NET C# 3.5.

I am loading a control to a page dynamically with LoadControl("src to file"). In the usercontrol i have a validator and some other controls that i would like to access from my page. I canät get it to work, null pointer exception. Scenario is like this. I have a Edit.aspx page which loads the EditTemplate.ascx usercontroll. I would like to get information or find the controls in the EditTemplate from the Edit.aspx site. I have tried exposing the controls and validators as properties but how do i access them from my Edit.aspx?

I often use Placeholder control to dynamic load the UserControl. However there is a problem when i use, AJAX Control Toolkit not work on UserControl.
I would like for example a specific example as follows:
- This Project has 2 folder as "not use placeholder" and "Use placeholder". In folders have 2 file, default.aspx and uc1.ascx have the same content.
- In the folder "not use placeholder", I add CalendarExtender in uc1.ascx and run normally and in the folder "use placeholder" then CalendarExtender is not working.

I have two usercontrols usercontrol1 and usercontrol2.
Now I have a hyperlink in usercontrol1 on the click event of which I need to display i.e show usercontrol2(otherwise it is hidden).
So I add Reference to usercontrol2 as in code give below:

Now RRules.ascx is usercontrol2.
Now the problem is that after adding reference I only get to access on the server side not Client side.
Once I get a reference to it on the client side I want to do something like this:

How can I be able to do this?
