MVC :: How To Get Table Data On Form Submit In Controller ActionResult
Aug 3, 2010
I have a table in my View, which I populate rows in dynamically via jQuery. Below is my jQuery and my table code:
[Code]....
[Code]....
The problem that I am having is that my entire page is wrapped in a form. I am using the jQuery tabs, and have 4 tabs that collected different information. The last tab is where the user will submit all of the data on the page. I need the data that is populated for FSC, NIIN, NAME, UI, AVAIL QTY, and REQ QTY in my table to also get submited into my FormCollection in the controler ActionResult. Since these field in the table are not within a control, and don't have an id, I have no idea how to accomplish this.
I have created a Search page inside the Home section and is handled by the HomeController.Inside the HomeController I created a custom ActionResult called Lookup():
By default ASP.NET MVC uses ContentResult for controller method that return result not inherited from actionresult type. That is why if we will return some poco entity it will be only its type name.Could I overload something in controller to make it return jsonresult by default.Example:// return json product representation instead of product typename
public MyController: Controller { public Product MyAction() { return new Product { Name = "Foo", ID = 1 }; [code]...
I have just started using MVC. I created the MVC application and was playing around with it.When you call the http://localhost/home/Index/ on the sample MVC application the Index method of the controller home gets invoked and the view Index.aspx is displayed and similarly when we call http://localhost/home/About/ then the About method of the Home controller is invoked and the About.aspx page is displayed
I have a controller method "SaveFile" that attempts to download a binary stream to client's PC using the FileContentResult. If I make the call as a post from the controller corresponding view everything works OK. I want to call the same controller method "SaveFile" from a jquery function via an .ajax call, when I do the function returns an error and the responseText is the contents of the file to be written. What would I have to do to get the same behavior from a jQuery function as if the MVC framework handled the call via the submit button? Or an alternate solution would be to determine how can I catch the browser's download dialog close event.
I have a web form called default.aspx which has a form with user information. In addition to this, I have an iFrame on the same page that displays a page Secondary-Form.aspx that has a few additional dynamic data fields. I need to do two things.
1. I need to pass the parent form data in real time to the iFrame page to refresh its content and modify it's fields accordingly. Example: If the user submits their Vehicle Choice as Car on parent form, the form item in iFrame will display a radio button that says Honda, and if the user submits their Vehicle Choice as MotorCycle in the parent page, the iFrame will display Harley Davidson as the radio button choice
2. The submit button is on the parent page. I want both pieces of this information (from the parent page, as well as iFrame selection) to be passed to a server side ASPX page to process this information.the default.aspx and Secondary-Form.aspx files are located on different domains.
this is the first controler which is calling my applciation I am getting all my studentinfo for updating studnetcan i call this et in updateresult Action result?
public ActionResult getresult(StduentInfo et) { return PartialView("Student", et); public ActionResult updateresult(Stdentinfo et) [code]...
I am trying to submit my form's data to database using asmx Web Service method(Through AJAX extension methods i.e., Script callback method). My form contains lot of data, though only text data. This will be a very fast process,Or should i submit form data in the traditional way ?
I have a form that I am using with jquery for an application... everything is working fine but I have one issue....I do not want the form to submit when the user presses the enter key... if they press the enter key it will reset the whole sequence and I am running through an array that is placed in the system memory of the client(client-side javascript)is there a way to capture this event properly? Are there other ways that could submit the form?
Basically, I have an HTML Form and would want to pass the data from the form to n asp.net mvc controller, then the controller would return an XML for client side manipulation.
Here is my initial code:
[Code]....
When I run and debug, I get a message that says "attr(..) is null or not an object. I am still trying to learn web development using ASP.NET MVC.
Also I have a dropdownlist, how do I call the controller's action after I click the "Submit" button?
And how do I pass the Model back to the controller action as well?
The reason I want to pass back the model (or other object/class) to controller's action is I might have 5 dropdown lists and 3 edit boxes values to be sent as parameters. So I would like to assign these parameters into a object and send it back to controller's action.
i have post detail page (asp.net, umbraco cms), with search box and post replay box.the problem is that when user try to search using the search box, it cause validation error in the post replay box.the search is client side form.the post replay is server side form.you can view it live at:[URL]
I have two asp.net applications webapp1 and webapp2, in each application i have a asp.net form Deafult.aspx
I want to do a form submit from Default.aspx in webapp1 and recieve the value in webapp2.
I tried to do it with simply setting action ="webapp2 location" but it is throwing the bellow error
Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.
I even added the machinekey element to web.config
but it is still showing the same error.
This is the code for webapp1 form which sends data to webapp2
I need to collect the data entered by user for a quote and send all the data with labels to an email address. SMTP server is set up in web.config file, but I need to know the code behind for the submit button click event for the form. I do not need to store any data in a data base just need to send each label, field, radiobutton, etc. user responses to email address. All of the code I have been able to find has not applied to my situation.
as a php developer ive been told to go the MVC route which ive been trying since yesterday. Im using visual web delveloper 2010 express and im using the MVC template project.Ive basically got a news table in MSSQL Express, in there are these fields ID,(Title,Body,PostedOn,PostedBy) all i wanna do is loop through them to put them on the view.Im after a nudge in the right direction, I want to be able to do a SQL lookup in the controller put that data in a DataTable then run a foreach loop on the table to display this on the view. The problem im getting is I know youre not suppsed to put any HTML in the controller and I cant pass the datatable to the view to do the loop in the view.. so where/how do I do the loop.
