Say I have a DisplayTemplate called String.ascx and all string properties get rendered using this style, even if I don't have a UIHint attribute on the model class.
Now, I want a way to say..
'for this particular string property, don't use the template and render normally'.
I don't want to create another template with a default rendering.
So is there any [UIHint(Ignore)] or some such way?
In a controller action function, we can add a create/edit/list/details view by right clicking. The content of aspx/ascx will be generated according to selected model.
my question is how to change the template in order to generate my customized create/edit/list/details view.

I've created a class which extends System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage which I want to be the default class each view inherits from. This is controlled by the "pageBaseType" attribute in the "pages" element in the web.config file in each Views folder. If I add a Views folder in Visual Studio, it creates the web.config.
I would like to change the template it uses to do this to use a different value for pagBaseType. I assume there is a template somewhere I could modify, but I don't know where it is.
Does anyone have a Tabular create and details MVC 2 Template that i can pop into my project and use, instead of the ugly linear templates that come out of the box in MVC?
Are there free MVC view templates anywhere on the internet?
I've been working on the Music Store tutorial and I cannot get my site to utilize the Album.ascx view template. For now I'll give the short version of my problem because I'm thinking I'm just missing something obvious. I'll provide further elaboration/code if needed. I'm stuck on Part 4. From my understanding, after adding the Shared folder and adding the Album.ascx partial file, I should be seeing this after browsing to the Store Manager Index and selecting an album to edit: Instead, I'm still seeing this: I even copied the code from the dowloaded solution for the Edit.aspx and Album.ascx files. It seems my project is completely disregarding my View Template.

I have a GridView that isn't databound until the user clicks a button...
[Code]....
The GridView has one bound column: the employee name. It also has a template field that has an empty asp:Table.
[Code]....
I populate the tblInfo in the RowDataBound event.
[Code]....
The CreateInfoTable(...) method manually creates the rows and columns for the employee. This works, and I can see my dynamically created table; however, after the user submits the form back to the server for PostBack, the rendered page after submission is missing my manually populated table. How can I save my table across PostBacks?

I am currently using Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.3.0") to get information via XML. The App was built connecting from Point A to Point B, with A & B being 2 servers in different locations. Through a cloud, we setup both locations on the same server with different hostheaders... Since this happened, we are getting an "invalid cert." error when we try and make the XML connection. I changed to code to invoke SXH_OPTION_IGNORE_SERVER_SSL_CERT_ERROR_FLAGS, but it was recently brought to my attention that this could in fact be invalidating the SSL, and the connection is no longer secure. Does anyone know if thats the case?
If so, is there typically a problem with 1 server establishing an SSL connection between itself? The certificate has remained the same (a wildcard cert. enabling *.mysite.com) just the physical location of the servers is what moved (And technically the version of IIS was upped to 7).
