Maintain Value In Fileupload Control In C#

i am using Fileupload and 3 dropdown control in update panel, 3 dropdown will be post back on dropdown selected index change event (i.e like Country,states and city... get the value from db as per country,states and city)
THE PROBLEM IS
While postback the filename path is gone from the file upload control(as expected/ or Default property).
I am converting the file to byte array, to store in the database from file upload control.
How can i retain the value or Is there any way to solve this issue.
Is there any ajax control for file upload or any free controls which retain the value after postback also...?
Or it is possible to set the value to file upload control during postback ?

I'm using five FileUpload controls on a single web form. Besides allowing the user to upload a file I also am collecting user data. Problem I run into is during the server side validation if any of the user data is invalid on a post back when content it redisplayed the FileUpload controls loose the client url that was selected when browsing. How can I keep that path or set the pathing on the control so they do not have to keep rebrowsing for the files on data validation errors? Right now breaking up the two form sets user data and file upload into two pages is being frowned upon and requirments would like it to be on all one page.

My <input id="FileUpload1" name="FileUpload1" type="file"> and country dropdown both are inside update panel , now on selectedindexchanged it do postback , which i am triggering in update panel to avoid page refresh .
Now the problem is when i select any image in fileupload and then select country , my selectedimage vanishes but its path stays in textbox .

I am working on FileUpload. I have sequence of forms showing in popup, In the starting form i am uploading the file and i have to get the PostedFile.InputStream at the end of the form. I am navigating the all form values until last form, but i am not able to get the PostedFile.InputStream value. Once page refreshed the fileupload control value is clearing. how can i get it until end of the form.

I have a FileUpload control in an UpdatePanel and when user select a file, the full file path will will be stored in a hiddenfield, and during postback, i would like to assign the full file path in the hiddenfield back to the FileUpload control textbox, possible to achieve that?

we developed two forms.asp x with Dynamic Controls,First form has one Dynamic button_Open ,this button has Click event ,through button_Open_Click event we need to open second form with dynamic controls through (window.open()),window opening but forms.asp x not displaying controls and Second form overwriting on first form ,we added code for Dynamic Controls in both pages Page_PreInit event.do the better way to maintain state of control both pages?

i open visual studio 2008 and create a new project, in this project i use the ajaxcontroltoolkit, now in the vs toolbox i add a new tab, and named it AjaxcontrolToolkit, then i click on it and select choose items, in the .net framework components i browseto the ajaxcontroltoolkit dll, then all the ajaxcontroltoolki controls appears in the tab, an work fine, but when i close the vs and start it again i lost that tab, there are any way to keep in this tab for the next restart of vs?

I am using file upload control and the captcha.After fulfill the form and upload the file , if user enter the wrong captcha test and click on button the uploded file being disaaper .I know this is the shortcoming of file upload control but client required thatIt needs to not clear the photo Plz help me out so that i can maintain the uploaded file state and have to capable so that user does not need to uploaded file again.

I need the full client path of the file on the server side so that I can use a library to get text from the document. It appears that due to security reasons, IE8 replaces the file name with
C:fakepathdocument.doc

How exactly do I style this control?
I have tried this but it doesn't work.

Also how can I style the browse button that comes with this control? If it is not possible are there other alternatives?
Edit:
I checked the generated source and asp.net gives the control this id ctl00_main_content_upload_tb
I changed the CSS to
#ctl00_main_content_upload_tb
{
width: 500px;
}
but it does not stretch the control. It adds padding to the right of the control.

At the moment i get file extension of the file like :
string fileExt = System.IO.Path.GetExtension(filUpload.FileName);
But if the user change the file extension of the file ( for example user could rename "test.txt" to "test.jpg" ), I can't get the real extension . What's the solution ?
