Mobiles :: Print On Windows - Form Authentication Doesn't Work
Sep 11, 2010
i made a web application and i need it to work on a windows mobile system, the thing is that some control don't work the way i planned one thing is that form authentication doesn't work i have two question,
1- do i need to make a smart device project and do the whole program again
2- i need a way to print from this device (HTC TyTN II) to a bluethoot device (DPP-250).
I tried to develop the asp.net 3.5 by using the windows authetication and it seems to work fine. I had tried this code on my machine (local iis6):
Response.Write(User.Identity.Name.toString());
It returned correctly "my windows login usernameDomainname" however, I tried to deploy it on the windows server 2008, it returned "computer name/Administrator" Then, I tried to access this page from my computer which was redirected to 401 error. Moreover, I looked for the system property which showed that this server and my machine are on the same domain group.
Just going to start making a web application and was wondering which was better, or at least what are the main differences between them (as it probably matters what I am using them for)?
I got an application to support, it's an asp.net web project, on the 1.1 dot.net framework.
It's all ok, with the application, when it runs on web brownsers, and when I try run it from inside a blackberry mobile phone it runs ok too, except when I try to execute an Response.Redirect("some_page_of_my_app.aspx").
It always goes to the default page (login page), and ask for login again, and I never can do a redirect.Is there someone that have any idea what the problem about that?
I'm building a mobile expansion on my company website that will redirect users to a mobile version of the site at login if my code detects if they're using a mobile device. I've tried using things like Request.IsMobileDevice (which sounded too good to get true to begin with) but it doesn't seem to work at all. So after looking through some of my browser detection options, I've decided to reference Request.UserAgent to find out what people are using.
So I'm using this for mobile detection:[Code]....
I've looked up what the UserAgent value is for Windows Phone 7, which is why I'm checking for "IEMobile", but I'm not sure if this will be solid enough."> Could someone let me know what the Request.UserAgent values are for some of the major mobile browsers (IPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc.)?If someone would happen to know what it is for Apple users against Safari and Firefox would be great too.
I have been handed a program written by someone else, that has been deployed and doesn't work correctly after deployment.
Basically we have a button with the following:
Code: protected void btnPrint_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { using (PrintDocument pd = new PrintDocument()) { pd.PrintPage += new PrintPageEventHandler(printPage); pd.Print(); } }
in Dev the print button works everytime. I noticed that this references System.Drawing and that wasn't being deployed as part of the solution. I changed this so that this dll gets deployed as part of the solution into the bin folder for the app, however it has made no difference.
I am developing an ASP.Net website which has a listbox which will be accessed by IPAD.The problem I am facing is that listbox has rather long text and IPAD does not show horizontal scrollbar when I use div tags. The two-finger horizontal scrolling doesn't work either on IPAD /Iphone.
I am trying to display a local .html file in a web page. The file uses javascript to display some information about my phone. In the executable, I am retrieving two values out of the registry. I would like to pass these values in a query string (I think that is the correct terminology). Something like file://\Program Files\TestTest.html?type=newtype. I have attempted this with using webbrowser.navigate, but that is giving an unhandled exception when it tries to pass the URI string. Obviously, I have no experience with this and am using the wrong method. There has to be a simple way to open a new webpage in a form and pass it this type of string.
how to implement such a function? I have been attempting to implement this with Visual C# using the .net CF for Windows Mobile.
I'm trying to write a simple ASP.NET 4.0 app, using Windows authentication to login. This is on my peer-to-peer home network. When I click to login, it instantly shows my Windows identity, so it looks as though I don't even need to login, as it's already done that for me. However when I then go to any other page in the app, it looks as though I'm not logged in. Why is that and how do I fix it?
I'm trying to build a windows application running in Windows 7 that access the TFS work items and I'm getting an error messenge that says:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies.
I dig up a little bit to find out what is happening and I found out that the assembly must have a strong name which I'm still trying to understand how to give one to it but before that I tried to run the same code but as aweb application and it's running just fine. Running the same windows application in windows Vista also works. Debuging the windows application in windows 7 code the error throws when a rotine that has an object been stantiated to the class TeamFoundationServer is called. This class is into the Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client.dll which is the dll that I should give the strong name, and may be solve the problem. What I would like to know is if it already have happened with you to some reference doesn't work to a specifc kind of application and if giving a strong name solved your problem or from your experience what might be occurring?
I have developed an Interanet web application using the windows Active directory authentication if user find then it automaticaly authenticated working correctly now my user wants the capability of being able to login to the intranet site as another user by providing the username and Password . For example, Team lead needs to login on other team memeber System to pefrom some task on his behalf if he or she is not aviable in office .
I have created a standard MS Login Page. However when I try to login on the page only by providing the Username system authenitcate the user ( not validating the password of that user)
Now my user wants the capability of being able to login to the intranet site as another user. For example, IT guy needs to login on a user's system to set some data.
I have created a standard MS Login Page. However when I try to login on the page I get the message
Your login attempt was not successful. Please try again
I do not have a database (aspnetdb.mdf) storing user information but login against the active directory. Can you use the login form with windows authentication without a database?
I have a intranet site with Windows Authentication. I have 'Administrator' pages in an 'Administrator' folder that will only show for those in the admin group (windows security group) These pages work
I have a folder with sub folders containing reports. These permissions are broken down for each type of report. They have similar role priveleges. When I test the application, I can navigate to the pages. When I deploy the site live on the intranet the links don't return a page. Error missing link 404. Do I need to set something in IIS?
Ive created supersimple form. just drag and drop several labels and image.
i call it from my program onclick:
progressform frm = new progressform(); frm.open(); frm.close();
my form shows as expected, but without labels. there are white rectangulars instead of each all items(tried with label, checkbox, image) it seems that form cannot load this items, although it can load by itself.
I have asp.net application using .net 3.5 running in our domain (intranet). Right i am using only Form authentication to this appliation.
Problem. Is there a way to use Widows and Form authentication both at once. By default it will use the Windows Credentials if the applicatin is running in the domain. If failed it should ask for Form authentication to supply credentials.
I have a small function that is in a STA thread. It's purpose is to copy the selected image in word document to clipboard and then save it to a location on the hard drive. Here is the code that works fine on XP and Windows server 2003.
It does not work on Windows server 2008 on IIS 7.0 Is there some known WP Identity issues or any other kind of security issues in cross process memory sharing?
I have been trying really hard to activate and launch a COM object using an ASP.NET web application. The aspx website has a code-behind file that has a reference to this COM object (which is an actual application -a CAD software). When required, the VB code creates (or launches) the application.
The complete set-up works in a Win-XP (32-bit) environment both under debugging using visual studio and when the website is accessed by an outside user (through IIS server in XP). But the same application doesn't get activated when it is hosted onto the Win-2003 (32-bit) IIS server. I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.
The way I have setup in Win-XP was to grant ASP user and Internet guest user permissions to the COM object in the DCOM Config and since the windows firewall is enabled, I add the exe file (associated with the COM object) to the exception list. For the case of Win-2003 server, I add the Network Service permission to the COM object. But the setup doesn't seem to work at all. I am not sure what I am missing and how to get the application to launch.
I have put a form into an iframe. It is sent from another website to the php page on the site which has the iframe. Upon clicking the submit button nothing happens. Just a quick flash of the green page load bar. Why is this happening? I have spend hours on this...
It seems the Print Icon in Reporting Services is now throwing up a Windows Authentication box. Even when entering my domainusername and password, nothing happens. It just keeps popping up?
Our reporting service URL is a http://IP Address/........
Not sure if that has anything to do with it. We did add the I.P. in the Local Intranet Zones but still nothing works.
