Ive created supersimple form. just drag and drop several labels and image.
i call it from my program onclick:
progressform frm = new progressform();
frm.open();
frm.close();
my form shows as expected, but without labels. there are white rectangulars instead of each all items(tried with label, checkbox, image) it seems that form cannot load this items, although it can load by itself.
I didn't do anything with default code in form.
i made a web application and i need it to work on a windows mobile system, the thing is that some control don't work the way i planned one thing is that form authentication doesn't work i have two question,
1- do i need to make a smart device project and do the whole program again
2- i need a way to print from this device (HTC TyTN II) to a bluethoot device (DPP-250).
I want to display my validation error messages in the MessageBox. I have Four TextBoxes and One Button control. When I click the Button Control, the TextBoxes without the text to be shown in the MessageBox. I have almost done this, but the problem is When I click the Button, the MessageBox is opened as a minimized window. So it is difficult for the end user to realize. I want to display the MessageBox to the user when button clicks.

This currently gives me an error on my view page if I attempt to edit an item with an id of 100, when there is no user with an id of 100 in the database. What's the best practice for handling this? Send them to a Create page, or show a friendly error message? Should that redirect functionality be within the controller function?
I am trying to add default item 'All' to my RadComboBox. It is adding at the end and also it doesn't select this default item. What could be the problem?

I'm using a DropDownList with a data source which successfully populates the list. However, I want one of the items to be selected, namely the one where the value matches the path and query of the current request.

Using the debugger in Visual Studio 2008 reveals that item.Selected becomes true exactly once in the loop, but the rendered select has no option that is selected.
I'm trying to write a simple ASP.NET 4.0 app, using Windows authentication to login. This is on my peer-to-peer home network. When I click to login, it instantly shows my Windows identity, so it looks as though I don't even need to login, as it's already done that for me. However when I then go to any other page in the app, it looks as though I'm not logged in. Why is that and how do I fix it?

The problem is that on the page, I can't move my selection below the first item (with down arrow key/mouse). However with mouse if I click on any item, it gets selected.

I tried to develop the asp.net 3.5 by using the windows authetication and it seems to work fine. I had tried this code on my machine (local iis6):

It returned correctly "my windows login usernameDomainname" however, I tried to deploy it on the windows server 2008, it returned "computer name/Administrator" Then, I tried to access this page from my computer which was redirected to 401 error. Moreover, I looked for the system property which showed that this server and my machine are on the same domain group.
I'm trying to build a windows application running in Windows 7 that access the TFS work items and I'm getting an error messenge that says:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies.
I dig up a little bit to find out what is happening and I found out that the assembly must have a strong name which I'm still trying to understand how to give one to it but before that I tried to run the same code but as aweb application and it's running just fine. Running the same windows application in
windows Vista also works. Debuging the windows application in windows 7 code the error throws when a rotine that has an object been stantiated to the class TeamFoundationServer is called. This class is into the Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client.dll which is the dll that I should give the strong name, and may be solve the problem. What I would like to know is if it already have happened with you to some reference doesn't work to a specifc kind of application and if giving a strong name solved your problem or from your experience what might be occurring?
I'm trying to delete a item from the listview. I can delete the item from the database ok, but the listview item does not get removed, I could do a Response.Redirect to redisply the page but this is overkill? Below is my code:

It does not work on Windows server 2008 on IIS 7.0 Is there some known WP Identity issues or any other kind of security issues in cross process memory sharing?
I have been trying really hard to activate and launch a COM object using an ASP.NET web application. The aspx website has a code-behind file that has a reference to this COM object (which is an actual application -a CAD software). When required, the VB code creates (or launches) the application.
The complete set-up works in a Win-XP (32-bit) environment both under debugging using visual studio and when the website is accessed by an outside user (through IIS server in XP). But the same application doesn't get activated when it is hosted onto the Win-2003 (32-bit) IIS server. I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.
The way I have setup in Win-XP was to grant ASP user and Internet guest user permissions to the COM object in the DCOM Config and since the windows firewall is enabled, I add the exe file (associated with the COM object) to the exception list. For the case of Win-2003 server, I add the Network Service permission to the COM object. But the setup doesn't seem to work at all. I am not sure what I am missing and how to get the application to launch.
I'm quite fresh when it comes to VB.NET an i tried to make a form. Submits very nice in IE8, FF and Chrome, but IE9 fails to submit it.

how do I launch a windows form from a web page. For instance, when you click a button the windows form should launch and the web page should continue to run in the background without the user seeing it (this is there a way to keep the web page alive after the windows form app launch)

I saw videos from Microsoft which call JavaScript from within Silverlight using the dynamic of c# 4, just wondering how easy it is to call Ruby/Python in web/windows form? I know that Umbraco have a python implementation somewhere, and it is possible, but not sure how?
I have a ASP.NET website which uses the standard ASP.NET Login Control for authenticating users. The user information is stored in a SQL Server database which is not accessible from client side. I want to write a standalone desktop windows form application which requires user to login with the same credential (username and password) used on the website. For the web-based form authentication, it's simple just to use the login control. Howerver, I have no idea for how to deal with the login for windows form application. My naive idea is to create a login web service which windows form application can utilize.
