I am developing a web application targetted for Windows Mobile. And I do have a form element in my webpage but I always get the exception
"Page must contain atleast one form."
how can i set the width of the form on the mobile page.....i am using .NET mobile.
View 7 RepliesI am new to ASP.net and I am using RegisterStartupScript to register session expired alert. It works fine If my page has atleast one control like ( button, textbox etc ). If my page is empty or has only text then I didn't get any alert. Is it right that we should have one control to get alerts.Follwoing is my code.

From my windows mobile application, i want to connect to the server which resides on my local machine. I want to use HTTPS.
SSL certificates have been implemented and they dont cause any problems.
However, i get an exception at the code line
Stream requestStream = webrequest.GetRequestStream(); ----> webrequest is an object of HttpWebRequest class
The exception message is "Could not establish connection to network." InnerException is null.
I've been searching for a while for a solution to accomplish above subject, I have a win app for handhelds in which the user can navigate through several windows forms form.showdialog() The question is how to close all windows and terminate the app when user press exit button.

I mean if I use form.show() to open the windows, it works with Application.Exit();, but I want to prevent the user navigate away from the current form thru the icon for open windows on the right lower corner of the handheld, unless he press the close button of the form, that's why I use form.showdialog(), the other approach could be to show only the current open form of the application if the user press the icon for the open windows on the right lower corner.
i made a web application and i need it to work on a windows mobile system, the thing is that some control don't work the way i planned one thing is that form authentication doesn't work i have two question,
1- do i need to make a smart device project and do the whole program again
2- i need a way to print from this device (HTC TyTN II) to a bluethoot device (DPP-250).
I am trying to display a local .html file in a web page. The file uses javascript to display some information about my phone. In the executable, I am retrieving two values out of the registry. I would like to pass these values in a query string (I think that is the correct terminology). Something like file://\Program Files\TestTest.html?type=newtype. I have attempted this with using webbrowser.navigate, but that is giving an unhandled exception when it tries to pass the URI string. Obviously, I have no experience with this and am using the wrong method. There has to be a simple way to open a new webpage in a form and pass it this type of string.

I have a form that's used to submit emails for a project. This uses the SMTP Client class and is currently delivering the emails to a local directory , for now.
There is some logic that checks to see if a mailbox is busy or unavailable. A message is displayed for the appropriate situation. There is also some logging and exception handling.
I want to know if there is a way to test this logic, logging and exception handling while this app is local. I don't know if there is a SMTP Status Code that's returned since this is being done locally and not with a real smtp server.
Is there a way to test this locally? Can these values be set manually in the code as a test?
I have asp.net form having 4 check boxes. not check box list. these 4 check boxes having the ValidationGroup property with same name say "chkValied". I have added Custom Validator there. now want to check at least on check box should be check out of these.
View 3 Replieswanted to know what is the easiest way to interface a mobile phone device with an online system. I have literally NO knowledge in this domain. However, I am brainstorming on possibility of an online application that will allow me to backup my data in nokia set 3110 such as my Address book in the application and restore it. This I want to achieve without connecting my phone to any PC. I am thinking on some way to achieve this by leveraging mobile phone line only. I beleive it may require my application to connect to mobile phone through mobile phone network. Currently my mobile phone line subscriber is offering Address Book backup/ restore service with some charge. I want to see if I can replicate similar features. I would really appreciate if you can give a direction to my random thoughts.If anything is not clear then please feel free to inquire. I look forward to your kind response.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to learn Visual Web Developer 2008 and web site design. I have created a website with a 'contact us' section and it is working fine. On this page I have appx 6 Input text boxes but lots of graphics and such on the page. I'm trying to figure out how to get started building a simple version of the same page so that blackberries, android, iphone, etc... could fill out and submit the form. I don't want anything fancy on the form, just labels and text boxes.
I'm been searching the web and everything leads me to add a mobile web form to my project but in VWB 2008 there is no such thing (at least that I can find)
This will be typical question to ask, but i havent found any right soultion to this. I need to redirect pages based on devices browsing, mostly focusing on iPad, iPhone, Blackberry. But i need server side code, for this; as javascript is disabled by default on Blackberries, so tring to avoid javascript. I have checked MVP Mobile Devices, but dont know how to implement in my sites.

View 3 RepliesI need to open the .swf file thru web page on platform window CE. I got a .swf file which is saving in window CE mobile device on path: My DocumentsflashParallelParking.swf. So when user browse the web page thru the mobile device, I need to open up the .swf file which is save in the particular path on the mobile device.
I try to using Process() to open the file but hits an RunTime Error: "An Application error occurred on server. The current custom error setting for this app prevents the details of the app. error from being viewed remotely."

I am trying to use the Page class that exposes a property named PreviousPage from my User Control.
I have a web form called default.aspx which has a form with user information. In addition to this, I have an iFrame on the same page that displays a page Secondary-Form.aspx that has a few additional dynamic data fields. I need to do two things.
1. I need to pass the parent form data in real time to the iFrame page to refresh its content and modify it's fields accordingly. Example: If the user submits their Vehicle Choice as Car on parent form, the form item in iFrame will display a radio button that says Honda, and if the user submits their Vehicle Choice as MotorCycle in the parent page, the iFrame will display Harley Davidson as the radio button choice
2. The submit button is on the parent page. I want both pieces of this information (from the parent page, as well as iFrame selection) to be passed to a server side ASPX page to process this information.the default.aspx and Secondary-Form.aspx files are located on different domains.

So I created a site optimized to be rendered in a mobile device. I set the Width Site is looking good on Blackberry of my <DIV> tags to be about 300px, for the most part, to account for the reduced screen size. However, the IPhone Safari browser renders this to the screen extremely small, and I can only assume that it's automatically reducing the size of the html accordingly to fit the device. Again, Blackberry does not do this.

Previously form id in child pages was aspnetform,suddenly now the id has changed to form1, now the problem is there are lots of script used with reference to id aspnetform and they are giving error. So i want to change or override the form1 name to aspnetform to make it work again

I had developed mobile web page in asp.net 2.0. This page is displaying with small font in safari on ipod touch and in iphone. for this i had copied iphone.browser definition file in
C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727CONFIGBrowsers
folder and run the command aspnet_regbrowsers.exe -i in command prompt. Then 2 files with ASP.BrowserCapsFactory.dll and BrowserCapsFactory.cs are created. But there is no result.
