ModalPopupExtender Doesn't Work On IE6 Frame Layout
Jun 15, 2010
I'm using a "frame" layout similar to the one in this excellent answer: a div #top at the top of the page, a div#left on the left, and a div #main with the main content. The #top and #left divs contain navigation menus.Now I want to use a popup div using the AjaxControlToolkit ModalPopupExtender inside the content (#main) div.This works fine on IE8 (where #top, #left, #main all have position:fixed), but when I run it on IE6, the modal background only covers the #main div - I need it to cover the whole of the page including the #top and #left navigation divs.
Iīm using in my application the control :ModalPopUpExtenter. In my computer testing localhost, it works fine. But when i put my application on my server, everything works fine except the ModalPopUp.In the page that i use it, my panel is appearing for my user, but i donīt receive any error message.I pute the dlls: AjaxControlToolkit.dll, System.Web.Extensions.dll and System.Web.Extensions.Design in the folder bin.
on my web page i submit some data on click at button , this block is inside update panel.
this functionality working fine in 3.5 frame work.
Now our website is using 4.0 frame work.
controls inside update panel giving following error on submting data :
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500.
I am using ASP.Net 4.0 and MVC 2.0 for an web application. As my project requiremrnt I have to use the server side control in my application which is not possibl in noraml case. Ideally I want to use AdRotator control and DataList control.I saw few samples and references in CodePleax MVC ControlLib howwver I found it is very less useful. Can someone tell how to utilize theese controls in ASP.Net application along with MVC. Note: Please provide functionalities related to the AdRotator and DataList controls not the equivalent functionalities
We have an aplication which works fine withing ASP 2.0 .NET Framework 3.5. Its a response. redirect call from inside ajax update panel, and it can not be outside. After updating to Framework 4.0 it no longer funchtions and returns "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed." without redirecting.
Server.trasfer gves the same error as well as and does not work
I have a gridview with entity frame work datasource. When editing or deleting I get Store update, insert or delete statement affected an unexpected number of rows(0). I selected * from the datasource. I made a template field to show the posts. There is a PostId in the framework. I am guessing that the PostID is not bound to the gridview the problem and the fix?
I can not get the _PageStart.cshtml to work for my layout senario. I would prefer to use _PageStart to define a layout for all files in each folder. Each folder represents a different app feature that will contain different layouts.
Until I find a work about I had to copy and past the Layout ="~/folder/_PageStart.cshtml into each page of the folder to get the different layouts to work.
_PageStart isn't being recognized at all as the folders page start. Is there a web config setting missing? The docs aren't fully extensive yet for all Razor related info and I couldn't find anyone discussing this problem via search results.
In order to keep close to code once and separation I need to use the _PageStart.cshtml method rather than code a line in each page in the folder.
On win7 using both webmatrix and vs2010 web engines. Neither recognizes _PageStart.cshtml but hard coding into each file works.
As far as I can see, the following code should make an AsyncFileUpload display in ModalPopupExtender. The MPE shows fine but the AsyncFileUpload doesn't load inside it. I also tried removing the update panel and putting the divs both inside and outside of the update panel, all with the same (lack of) results. And the AsyncFileUpload displays and works outside of the MPE.
The first page, default.htm, is a frameset page that uses the other two pages.
The second page, casemenu.aspx, is a form that contains an object we call "PopupManager": It has an element <xxx:PopupManager runat="server"/>. This object is dependent on the standard ScriptManager, which requires a form.
The third page, header.aspx, contains three links. Each link calls a JScript function that in turn calls a function on the Popup Manager. It makes the call to the popup manager with an expression like 'top.frames.casemenu._PopupManager'.
Now, the problem I have is that I have to change default.htm to be a normal page containing an iframe, which will refer to a new page, container.aspx, which has the original frameset. When I do that, I can no longer access the PopupManager the same way ('top.frames.casemenu._PopupManager' no longer works.)
I would like some way to refer to the PopupManager relative to header.aspx, something like "self.parent.frames.casemenu._PopupManager", but that doesn't work.
I am a new to WCF. I have written ajax to use a web service before, but on this project I am trying to use ajax to WCF.After I build the project and wcf using ajax, I receive the return successfully. But, 10 or more minutes later I don't get a return, the ajax calls the error function, and the fiddler returns nothing.
If I rebuild the project without any source modifying, I receive the return successfully again.
I am using Visual Studio 2010 and working on an ASP.NET web application targeting .net 4.0.I am using the Ajax control toolkit version 4.1.40412.2In my .aspx page I have the following:
[Code]....
In the server side code for the lbAddMember_Click event I have the following:
[Code]....
If I click the lbDummy button the popup will show as expected however if I click the lbAddMember button I can trace the server side code and it is being called but the modal popup does not ever showThis works if running with FireFox but does not work when running IE. Here is the other stange thing. This has been working in IE for last few weeks but just started not working this week.
I am trying to save an updated xml file to a url like this:
Quote:
//save the output to a file xmlDoc.Save("http://www.example.com/HomeNewsLinks.xml");
But I get this error: URI formats are not supported.
Did some google search on this and it seems I need to use client.uploadFile method, but I am not able to find how to declare/define filenamexxx (below) and how to pass a username/password.
Quote:
WebClient Client = new WebClient(); Client.UploadFile("http://www.example.com/HomeNewsLinks.xml", Post, filenamexxx);
I am following though the examples in Professional ASP.Net MVC 2 and one of the examples doesn't work for me.
[HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit (int id, FormCollection collection) { Dinner dinner = dinnerRepository.GetDinner(id); if (TryUpdateModel(dinner)) { dinnerRepository.Save(); return RedirectToAction("Details", new { id = dinner.DinnerID }); } return View(new DinnerFormViewModel(dinner)); }
I understand that it's suppose to take the values from the FormCollection, and then update the dinner object with it, bit I don't see the collection get referenced anywhere.
I have div which it is hidden by default , when the use clicks show link the following javascript method is called:
function ChangeControlVisibility(elementID) { var element = $("#" + elementID); if (element.css('display') != 'block' && element.css('display') != 'table') { element.show();
[code]....
this step works but when i call the previous method at page_load event the method doesn't work: element.css('display') undefined.
I have a Gridview in UpdatePanel and a textbox in which i input a string, the row is searched from gridview onkeyup of textbox.For example when i entered "testing" one row is displayed in gridview having "Edit" command and when i clicked on "Edit" it goes to top of the row having another data is converted into edit mode but that rows is not changed into textbox.
