I have the following HTML content. When i click the button, the page doesn't post to URL provided in action tag. The corresponding application is running, but still the page load of the CrossPage.aspx was not invoked.
The problem is that for any other TextBox on the page which is using this MasterPage, for example the login page, if you type your user name and password and hit Enter, The page is redirected to the SearchPage. If you click on login buttton everything works fine. How do I make sure hitting enter on the page in any other text box does not post back to SearchPage.aspx?
Being new to ASP.NET I have run into trouble building my own Whack-a-mole program. I think my problem comes from using Buttons, which by themselves send post backs to the server, making the software unusable. The looks are in place, making new buttons show up in the grid, in different places by random. However, when a button is pushed - the score doesn't change (which I feel is strange).
Not so strange is that the Button doesn't work since it sends post back to the server - reloading the UpdatePanel. I think I should use a different controller like the CheckBox and style it hard using CSS (which isn't a problem). Is this the correct way to go, or should I make use of JavaScript AJAX instead?
Note to self: This technique shouldn't be used in a public application since it put too much unwanted pressure on the web server.
After upgrading our project to the .net 4.0 framework (from 3.5), we facing some problems with ajax calls with html in the parameters. As soon as the user enters some html in a text area the ajax call isn't executed anymore. If the user enters plain text only, there is no problem.
I'm trying to redirect a domain to another site, without changing the first URL (users should keep viewing http://www.myurl.org since the new URL would be https://wwws.enterprisedomain.com).
I could do this, inserting a frame in the index.htm of the first domain (I know it's not the best practice, but it worked well for now):
The fact is that https://wwws.enterprisedomain.com has a login mechanism in ASP.NET. It's OK on Firefox and Chrome, but when we use Internet Explorer 8, it seems that POST doesn't work!
I've a Detailsview that contains an updatepanel.A button is pressed within the panel and a window is displayed containing a gridview list. The user selects an item from the list, the window closes and the selected gridview item is placed in "tbResourceID" My problem however comes when the user goes to click insert the validator doesn't fire. I'm guessing this is something to do with the updatepanel isolating the validator.... my code is shown below!
I have a gridview inside update pannel and i enabled sorting for the grid if i click to sort a column it does postback and then the grid doesn't show in anather way i have item template column inside of the grid and i am using a button to call a function ,if i click on this button it do the function but the grid doesn t show after the post back
I have put the following method in my master page. It works when I call it on a full post back, but when I call it from a updatePanel's asyncPostBack no alert is shown.
I've encountered a problem when I put a treeview in a page which is using master page. The treeview style doesn't apply. For example, I set the nodes with different colors in different levels. But the treeview nodes are still displayed in the default color(bule).
The treeview code is :
[Code]....
If I use these code in a page which doesn't use a master page. The nodes are shown in colors.
I have a page that I am adding user controls to the bottom of the controls each postback. The User Control has a textbox in it and the focus needs to be on this newly created control textbox each time. It all works almost perfectly however when there are too many controls to fit on the page, because I set the focus to the textbox the bottom of the page is set to the textbox that has focus not the very bottom of the page. I have a submit button below this which ends up below the page limit. How can I set focus to a textbox but still scroll to the every bottom of the page to show the submit button.
When the users presses submit, I get the below error and for the life of me cannot figure out why! I have tried GET as well, byt that just seems to post to itself and just puts the form vairables in the URL rather than going to formprocess.aspx.page you are looking for cannot be displayed because an invalid method (HTTP verb) was used to attempt access. Please try the following:Contact the Web site administrator if you believe that this request should be allowed.Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly.HTTP Error 405 - The HTTP verb used to access this page is not allowed.Internet Information Services (IIS)
I'm using a form to POST credentials to a page. I'm able to POST my credentials to a page, but I'm stuck on trying to load that page that I POSTed my credentials to. In other words, the POST works, but the page doesn't then reload...here's a code snippet of what I'm running. I suspect I'm missing something and my knowledge of classes is limited so maybe it's a particular class I need to use.
I have very simple validation on the aspx page (highlighting not valid textbox), and it works perfectly. But when I try to work with this page using MasterPage, I've got an error - "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." (with reference to the line "aControl.BackColor=Drawing.Color.White" - underlined).
The master page lies in Root/MasterPages/masterpage.master
Now this image is displayed in a content page which is in Root/SomeDir/ContentPage.aspx, but it doesn't work in a content page which is in Root/SomeDir1/SomeDir2/ContentPage.aspx. Why?
I often have an issue with compile errors when I copy over a aspx page and code behind file from another project, it seems to work when I create another page and the content manually but if I just copy the files it won't. I have checked to make sure namespaces and references are ok but still doesn't make any sense. The error I get is "Error The name 'txtUser' does not exist in the current context". I just wanted to understand why.
I have 2 forms on one page. 1 search form which only contains a text field and a submit button and 1 registration form which has a few required fields. The search form need to post data to search.aspx.
I am currently a beginner in asp.net i am currently watching msdn videos of "beginners developers learning" i am on the topic of application state so i got confused on a topic of "cross page postback" can anybody explain what that is
and another thing is "profile" object we use it in web.config file
I want to be able to post my form data to another page based on the result of a validation done on server (and not via javascript). As an example, let's say the user captures a customer number and then captures the phone number of the customer on page A. When the user clicks on the submit button, the page posts back. Then, in the button click event, I need to check in the database if the customer number exists. If it exists, I need to post the data to page B so that user can input the next information. If it does not, I need to stay on the first page and show an error message telling the user that the customer does not exists.
I do not want to use Response.Redirect cause that would mean that page B would lose the form data coming from page A. I know about crosspage postbacks but that just turn the problem the other way around (if I post directly to page B, how do I get back to page A with the form data and show the error message?)...I know about Server.Transfer too but I would like to avoid that method because I know there are down sides to it too...I tried setting the button target URL to page B after validating from the database but it does not automatically redirect to Page B, it still shows up Page A and then if you click again on the button you are taken to page B. I know I could setup a javascript to automatically call the click on the button to post the page the second time automatically to the Page B but I don't like that method (if the user has slow internet, he sees the page twice and once the user is on page B, he can't use the back button cause he would be automatically redirected back to Page B because of the script). So, is there a way to change the request target after the button's click code has been handled???
I don't know it's even possible but I try to achieve to post data from one page to another using the second form. The problem is I need a form tag for the user interface containing callback panels etc. I want to put a second form with some hidden-field:
