View 1 RepliesMy application has a Parent master page, a child master page and an aspx page( inheriting the child master page)
> Parent master page has two content placeholders ( A and B)
>Child master page uses the content placeholder A and instills two more placeholders ( C and D)
>aspx page can now use C and D naturally
However i would like to know whether the aspx page can place contents inside the placeholder B( which was not used by child master page)

View 1 RepliesHow we can open a new aspx page in update panel embedded on current page. I want to open that page on some ajax event...
View 7 RepliesMy master page has 3 content place holders:
1. left side bar
2. middle content area
3. right side bar
So it looks like:
<div id="left"></div>
<div id="content"></div>
<div id="right"></div>
On a particular view page (.aspx) that inherits the master page, I want to now show #3 (right side bar).
So I don't want the to be rendered at all.

I need to made some changes in html before i show that in browser , and i need to make them in memory, so i open and load and make changes to my html Page and , now i need to pass that html string to iframe, but i am not able to do dat from code behind, iframe.innerHtml do not work.
I tried to set innerhtml for a div instead of iframe, that works , but here when browser renders html page, it applies my Html page style sheat on my aspx ( where CSS are defined for body ). Means the CSS for body that is in head of my htmlPage , sets on my aspx page.
I trying to show a html file inside my aspx page.
View 3 RepliesEvery time I create a new aspx page and add some new photos and text, after I finish, I have to update page title, Web.sitemap, Sitemap.xml to feed search engines, static sitemap.aspx page, add photos to proper folders, update database to display feeds etc, and I have to remember to upload all new files including links to any new pdfs....This routine eats my time and drives me crazy.
I was wondering if there is such interface, where you need to create only 1 aspx page, for example "Articles" which can populate Texts, photos etc into pre-defined sections, but at the same time it displays with different URL's, so there is a permanent link to it. After you finish it creates a title automatically, based on article title, populates Web.sitemap - does all the dirty work. Similar to how blog engines, Joomla and Drupal work.
How can I call a public property declared on a ASPX page from a different ASPX Page? Is that possible? It is a website project. How can I get/call this property from a different aspx page? I have attempted this from the other page, but it is not recognizing the partial class: private Test_Default _test; It does not recognize the "Test_Default"

I have customer specific settings in a custom.config which links back to web.config.
What I want to accomplish is to load the settings from appsettings section in custom.config into setup.aspx page. The settings will be loaded into textbox, dropdown list etc. After the user makes changes then save it back to custom.config. Is this possible? It seems to me that the appSettings section is readonly. What would be best approach to accomplish this?

View 2 RepliesAt the moment, I have an aspx page with a tabcontainer (ajax toolkit). Inside each tab, I have a little form or other content. At page load, each tab is loaded. Technically I can load the tabs at tabclick (with use of update panels) but this result in unnecessary data traffic.
Is there are a way or example how to use jquery tabs that loads aspx content (html)?
This way we can still use vs.net design tool with aspx pages and load data in a much smarter way.

View 1 RepliesI wrote a test page that does a bunch of busy work in a method called at page load. This process as I have it now takes around 12 seconds.
If I try to load another page while the first long running page is loading, this second page doing nothing except writing out a world, it doesn't load until the first long running page is finished.
Why is this the case? I would think IIS would be able to handle multiple concurrent connections, it seems crazy that one long running page would stop every other page in the application from loading. I must be missing something or not understand how IIS works.
I would think multiple independent requests would be spawned on different threads. Is this only the case if the requests are from different sessions entirely? Are all requests from a single session bound to a single thread?
I have page A.aspx where I show some result in listview. When I click On Some data on listview I go to page B.aspx. I work in VS 2008. Whenver I add a server control(Label) and set it properties in aspx.vb and build the solution, I get the error "Label1 not declared". While analyzing this issue I noticed that the event handler statements for the Label1 where not added in the designer.asp.vb file. These statement would actually be added automatically when I drag and drop a control to my webpage.
I would also like to inform the scenario after which this problem came to me. I was working in VS 2008 , VS 2005 and VS 2003 in the same machine.Could this have caused the issue ?
Now each and everytime when I add a control, I am adding the "With Events" code in the designer page to make my build succesfull which makes me to spend more efforts.
I am a little confused when it comes to change the html of a .aspx page and uploading that to the server. Does the website have to be re-published each time a change is made to the .aspx page? I have the box checked that says "Allow this pre-compiled site to be updateable" but when I upload it, it works fine, then I change some html in the .aspx page, save it, then copy that file directly from the source folder over without going through the publish options again. However this time I get errors. Now if I copy over both the .aspx and .aspx.vb files it seems to work. So I suppose I am confused on how this whole publishing thing works and what files I have to copy over. Normally I uncheck all boxes and I don't have to copy over the .aspx.vb pages.
