Redirect To Different Web Application With Associated Data
Apr 26, 2010
I'm building a solution where 2 applications are involved. One of them handles the login and user management, and and other provides the service itself. I need a way to send the user from the first app to the second, along with some data that derives from the whole login process. The data has to be sent in such a way that it can't be tampered with; or a way to check if it's legit has to be available.
Some more details:
The solution consists of 2 ASP.NET (Webforms) websites Although both websites are sitting on the same server, a solution that doesn't rely on this is prefered.
I got an application to support, it's an asp.net web project, on the 1.1 dot.net framework.It's all ok, with the application, when it runs on web brownsers, and when I try run it from inside a blackberry mobile phone it runs ok too, except when I try to execute an Response.Redirect("some_page_of_my_app.aspx").It always goes to the default page (login page), and ask for login again, and I never can do a redirect.
I am developing a mobile web application using System.Web.Mobile namespace of ASP.NET.I am facing problem with redirect to a different aspx page using Response.Redirect() while testing with dotmobi emulators with the error message: The requested item could not be loaded (status code 502)
What is the simplest way to redirect a web request to an ASP.NET application to a subdomain?If a request comes into the URL http://somesite.com/foo.aspx, the new destination URL should behttp://www.somesite.com/foo.aspx or http://blog.somesite.com/foo.aspxHow can you programmatically redirect the request to the subdomain, keeping the rest of the URL intact?
I deployed my webservice in IIS server. I have created another .net application, and called the webservice method from the new application. My problem is I am unable to redirect to the specified link[google.co.in]. I am getting the following error: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Response is not available in this context. at System.Web.UI.Page.get_Response() Sometimes I get the error as: "Object moved here". "here" is shown as a hyperliink, If I click here, i am redirected to the specified link.
How can I setup the code in default.aspx to automatically direct the user to the default page for the application. If the user types the server name as in http://MyIntranet, I want them to be redirected to [URL]

IIS threw back the error that the operation requires IIS integrated pipline mode, which obviously isn't available because we're running IIS6.
So far, I forget, that BeginRequest started only when file physically exist. how I can make such redirect in asp.net without creating hundreds of old pages?
I have web servie and web application ..Request hit from widows application to web service .if any request got means i need to redirect to some others pages in web application ,how can we do ..web application always open in server ..
Each virtual directory is configured on IIS6.0 as an application with own AppPool.
When redirecting authenticated user from dir1 to dir2 using response.redirect I lose authentication information for the user and the user is being redirected to the login page. This issue was not coming up with each app (dir1 and dir2) were configured under subdomain, ex: [URL]
I have resolved the issue by adding a machine key to the machine.config file.
I have an ASP.NEt website and I want to know how can determine how long the website was idle (no activity from the user) and then based on that timer I want to automatically logout and redirect to default.aspx?
I am using the AjaxControlToolkit 3.0.30930 (the most recent). I have a very simple page with an UpdatePanel. A button on the UpdatePanel invokes Response.Redirect and passes the URL of a Click Once application on the same server. This works well if I run the website on my local system (Windows 7, IIS 7.5).
If I run the website on a remote system (Windows Server 2008, IIS 7.5, same settings) the redirect simply does not work when invoking the page from remote (using the IP address). Instead a postback is executed. Even if I use the IP address of the webserver to invoke the website locally on the webserver, the redirect does not work. Using http://localhost on the webserver the redirect works well.
I tried another test page with no UpdatePanel: The redirect works well in all scenarios.
I tried out to invoke the ClickOnce application using a link instead of Response.Redirect: The redirect works well in all scenarios, even with an UpdatePanel.
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="TestWithUpdatePanel.aspx.cs" Inherits="TestWithUpdatePanel" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Even if setting EnablePartialRendering to false, the redirect works. This is a big clue, that the UpdatePanel causes the problem.
I want to redirect to "~/City/Göteborg", but if I just write Response.Redirect("~/City/Göteborg"); I will end up with an ugly URL in the address-bar like this: http://www.mysite.com/City/G%c3%b6teborg..
So my question is how to redirect to obtain a clean url like http://www.mysite.com/City/Göteborg?
if ((Request.QueryString["UbytovaniePrispevokID"].ToString()) == "")[code]......
What i want to do is.. I have one main page with new posts Each subject of the new post is the link to Another page where is Specific post and coments and user can leave a coment.
What I want is when the Request.QueryString["UbytovaniePrispevokID"].ToString()) == "" or null I want to redirect to error page ...
I need to develop an application, which will get records (orders) from one application and process them. The updates to this records (order updates) will be sent back to the source application for end customer reference. I'm planning to achieve this data synchronization at the database level using triggers and stored procedures to insert database between the 2 databases.
But, the issue is I have to deploy this application in 3 different customer sites and I have to change the database names (cannot use the same database name) in each deployment manually. Because of this deployment issue, I was thinking of handling this within the asp.net application where I can store the db name in the database and then build the query within the application, but I dont want to do it as building queries like that doesnt look very professional.
When someone logs on to my site. I want to direct them to their own home page. If the user has the id of 1. They would go to[URL] I already have the login and id setup. I am not sure how to incorporate it into the url.
I looking ways to redirect the page from the server side code and pass couple variables into the new page ( i can pass the same data through query string or session but i dont want to do that) what is the best way to do this?
I'm using Session to pass data from one page to another. The data contains HTML and when I display it in the other page, I see that it's different. This is how I put data in Session:
I am just beginner to ASP.Net, want to update data showed in gridview. While clicking on Edit in gridview, data should go to controls set above the grid view like textbox,dropdownlist, fileuploader control.
I am using OnRowCommand="gvContent_RowCommand" while updating.
But generally i pass row id to pass values from grid view to controls.
For that i use : Response.Redirect("IJPUpload.aspx?id=" + id);
then on page load I used : if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(Request.QueryString["id"]) == false)
Code: { Id = int.Parse(Request.QueryString["id"]); this.PutDataInControls(); btnSubmit.Text = "Update"; } else Id = 0;
But Now I dont want to use : Response.Redirect("IJPUpload.aspx?id=" + id);
I have a windows application and a web application. The windows as well as web application has a login page. The username and password are same for the windows and web application.
In the windows application, the user enters the username and password. With this username and password in windows application, is it possible to log into the web application? If yes, How to pass the data from windows application to web application, thereby logging into the web application. Is it possible to pass the username and password from a windows application to a web application?
