View 7 RepliesI am using Forms Authentication in a new ASP.NET 3.5 Application.I have created the Tables in my database and run the Web Site Administration Too.When I try to create a user I get a password error no matter what I throw at it and I am becoming sure of that this is a symptom of an a setup error and not a password problem.One of the things that I notice is that my aspnet_Applications is empty and I am not sure what is supposed to fill it.I have tried to delete all the aspnet tables and done the procedure again but with the same result.
View 1 RepliesI need regex patter for following code.Text with length either 9 0r 16 should only be allowed.

I am trying to get the modalPopup to work. Don't get any errors, the panel popsup as is supposed to, but the background doesn't gray out and the background of the panel doesn't display correctly either (it is black). The background of the main page doesn't change. To make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, I downloaded the samplcode (vb) from the AJAX website, and created a completely new web page, css file, .vb file, etc. Still have the same issue. I am using the latest version of ajaxcontroltookit ( 4.1.40412.0), VS 2010 RC, and VB)
View 8 RepliesI think this is a little tricky problem, but I need to solve it somehow. I have a texbox in my asp.net page. I want to show all names when a user types in a letter in that textbox, whatever names starting with that letter. the names are from a list generated by other function, pulled out from active directory. So for example: User types in "a" in a textbox then automactically names "aron" "asron" "amanda" in the list shows, and user can select one of those names.
View 4 RepliesI want to maintain the consistency of my database, I want the first letter and every letter after a space to be capitalized before the record can be entered into the database. Currently my validator expression (^[A-Z]+[a-zA-Z]*[0-9]*[^f
v]*$) can achieve only the first capital letter and it can't check on the letter after every space, so what is the expression to achieve that?
Heres the situation: I need update a column from my table (T1) from two other columns in a different table (T2).
My constraints are:
That I have to match the first 4 letters of a column in T2 to one column in T1 I have to identify that the first letter in a column in T1 corresponds to one letter in the middle of a string in a column in T2 For instance:
My Table (T1):
Order Type Combined
Place
0090 0001 YYXX 1YY
0091 1001 YYXX YYY
0092 1002 XXXX 2XX
Table 2 (T2):
Order Value
00900001YY XX
00911001YY XX
00921002XX XX
The Combined column in T1 is what i'm trying to complete. The T1.Place column contains the first character that I want to check for.
If it's a "1" then I want to make sure the 5th letter in T2.Order is a "0" If its a "Y" then I want to look for a "1001" If its a "2" then I want to make sure the 8th letter is a "2" in T2.Order
If all that matches then I was the last two letters in T2.Order + T2.Value to be combined and put into the appropiate spot in T1.Combined
Here's what I have:

I know it's a little complex, but i'm really stuck on it and any help would be greatly appreciated.
In asp.net,When I type letter in textbox, textbox doesn't show this letter and save in variable and when i type digit in textbox, textbox shows this digit and store in another variable. How should i do?
View 4 RepliesWhat is the right approach when users (authenticated domain admins) should be able to start batch jobs (usually exe files) from an IIS (7.x) aspx (c#) page? This is an intranet site. The batch jobs have to run on the web server as Domain Admins. The website pool is executed by network service or some similar restricted account in AD.
Approaches I can think of (and their disadvantages):
1. Start exe file with System.Diagnostics.Process.Start with another account. This feature is disabled in IIS 7.x, how do I allow it?
2. Create a sheduled task and call scheduled task-api. This unmanaged dll is giving VS compiler warnings because it's unsafe to call from managed code.
3. I suppose there's a better approach, because the previous suggestions doesn't appear safe or robust.
I'm having a little trouble with using regex in linq. I want to be able to perform a search on values in my database. The goal is to insert a value into the regex and then use that to search a column in a table in my database for that term. I want it to work so that it gets all exact matches and also returns matches in which the search term is a substring of the term in the column.
I was trying to follow this tutorial on msdn, but it doesn't quite fit perfectly with my problem:

I have a datagrid and I set up the paging based on how many rows there are like this
With dgBookings
.AllowPaging = True
.PagerStyle.Mode = PagerMode.NumericPages
.PagerStyle.PageButtonCount = 5
.PageSize = 5
End With
Is there a way to set the horizontal-align in the code too I tried adding this
.PagerStyle.HorizontalAlign = Right
and I get this errorArgument not specified for parameter 'Length' of 'Public Function Right(str As String, Length As Integer) As String'.
My ChangePassword method returns a boolean value indicating whether the change of password has been successful or not. When the user enters a new password, I want to check if the password length is at least 8 and there is at least one non-alphanumeric character(both these parameters specified in the web.config file). If I want to check in my code if the password entered is at least 8 characters, I would write some code like this:
if(newpassword.Length !=8)
{
//do something
}
Like the Length property, is there some property that can check if the password contains at least one non-alphanumeric character?
On page load i am doing this,, the first id inserted to DB will be (GT010001) , now the question is what about the 2nd, 3rd ... etc ?? what should i do?

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to implement a code that will generate a fix lenth alphanumeric code; number from 0...9 and capital letters A...Z. I want the code to be formated as this: XXX-XXX (where X representes a random character between 0...9 and A...Z). It doesn't matter if the letters and/or the numbers repete. But it will be great if the don't. I'm using VB.Net. How can I do this?
View 4 RepliesI specified to have a user creation wizard that accepts a password with NO alphanumeric characters:
<add name="AspNetSqlMembershipProvider" type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" connectionStringName="watermeConnectionString" enablePasswordRetrieval="false" enablePasswordReset="true"
requiresQuestionAndAnswer="false" applicationName="/" requiresUniqueEmail="false" passwordFormat="Hashed" maxInvalidPasswordAttempts="5" minRequiredPasswordLength="5" passwordAttemptWindow="10" passwordStrengthRegularExpression="(?=.{6,})[a-z]+[^a-z]+|[^a-z]+[a-z]+"
minRequiredNonalphanumericCharacters="0"/>
still, I do get the error that I have to provide at least one alphanumeric character.I do so and the error is still the same.why? is my regex wrong? I also took out the "confirm password" step. is that ok?

I am trying to register the route collection in .net based on each session. The code I have works fine, you goto website/username and it loads the correct sub pages, but you have to restart the application to goto website/username2 to load those sub pages. But when the application is restarted the second one works, but then not the first one. Is there some way to create a different route collection per session not per application using system.web.routing.
