I have some shell scripts on a Windows 2003 server. These scripts process some flat files and upload data to Oracle using sqlldr. Currently I'm using telnet to go into the box and run each of these scripts manually. Is there a way that these scripts can be run from a ASP.Net/Winforms application?
View 1 RepliesWe are trying to add a new page to a running web application. such that a new dll and aspx file are being added. I've setup break points in the code file and Built the application transfering the dll to the remote machine bin file and the aspx page to a folder within the web application. Note this folder is not in the same folder hierarchy as it built in. I'm not sure if thats the problem. Basically we are appending new functionality to a web application.I've copied the correct Remote Debug Monitor to the server and have it running.

If at all possible, when running my console and WinForms apps, I don't want to load the System.Web assembly into memory just for one line of code out of thousands.

Ideally, I would like the users to login to the WinForms application using the same credentials they use in the ASP.net application?

I have my GUI files published on a server... this server is where the IIS is running..

The application run fine if both the host computer and the remote computer to be accessed having os windows xp .The application also run fine if the application is running inside visual studio .

I have a custom role provider class that is currently being used by a web application. We are now in the process of migrating several windows applications from VB6 to VB.Net. From preliminary research, I understand that I can use the custom role provider in win forms as well and came across Client Application Services. I understand how the Client Application Services is setup, but can't seem to find how the custom role provider code will be shared between the web apps and the windows apps.

i have created a bat file to run the aspnet_regiis exe to encrypt the connectionStrings of web.config file on the remote machine. the same is working when i ran the file on remote machine itself. but is it not working when i call it from another bat file from my local machine which is shared with remote machine. my code loos like:

I'm trying to deploy a website stored on a network shared storage. My problem is that I am unable to load assemblies that reside on the remote machine.I load some assemblies by using

I got a FormatException on this one, so I modified the path to read "file:////\10.0.0.85\tmp\app\bin\Messages.resources.dll"
Now I get a "System.IO.FileNotFoundException".I read on MSDN that the "File" scheme is to be used for resources on the local machine. But how should I get the resources on the network share?

How can i enable the windows service subscribe/listen to events raised by the asp.net app on the remote machine? What methods can i use?n example of events that can be raised on the asp.net app is a user uploading a file. Once the upload has completed the windows service should be notified so it can do some work. It seems that there needs to be a layer in between asp.net and windows service, possibly another windows service or WCF app? Or plain old polling through a shared database containing the state?

In the web page i want to give a link(may be hyperlink or linkbutton). On clicking the link it should access the log file in the particular machine and it should give a popup with open and save option as given in the normal web applications.
