Any one used Microsoft Chart Control in SQL Server Reporting Service reports? Specifically the 2005 version?
View 3 Repliesi am trying to call a report with a ReportViewer control using this code:

but i am having this error
Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.MissingReportSourceException = the source of the report definition has not been specified.
have an asp.net page with a reportViewer control hosting a report in remote processing Mode.
View 2 RepliesIs there any component of the Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack that could be used by an end-user (i.e., not a coder, a business analyst) where they can drag and drop tables/columns onto a canvas and create reports themselves? I've been looking and can't seem to see anything I would want to give to an end-user.
I am trying to find something that is like the Cognos Report Studio/Query Studio products. They are pretty intuitive and users are able to create their own reports without the of IT. They can drill through folders, pick columns, drag them onto a canvas, sort the data, filter the data, group the data, add titles, all without having to know SQL (joins are made automatically).
I've looked at PowerPivot but that seems mostly targetted at OLAP users. What I am looking for is the ability to create list style reports with charts etc.
first of all: this probelm was already an issue in [URL] but it does not resolve my problem: I have VS2008 and SQL Server 2008 Express with Adv. Option istalled. When compiling a page with the reportviewer control I get the error Type 'Microsoft.Reporting.RdlBuildProvider' cannot be instantiated under a partially trusted security policy (AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute is not present on the target assembly). C:websitesadAgencyweb.config
From the obove mentioned post I learned to use <trust level="Full" /> in the web.config file (which I never used on other Implementations that work). Now the compilation works, but when I start the web application and call that page I get a lot of JScrip Errors like: Runtime error in Microsoft JScript: 'RSClientController' is undefined, which comes from a line in the dynamic page.aspx file: document.getElementById('ctl00_maincontent_ReportViewer1').ClientController = new RSClientController "ctl00_maincontent_ReportViewer1_ctl03", "ReportFramectl00_maincontent_ReportViewer1", ...
I should mention, that I had SQL Server 2005 Express uninstalled before the 2008 version.
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 SP1. I want to design data to show two columns in list as below:
Annual Appraisal Probation Appraisal
Sepcial Appraisal Comment
I am in VS2008 and in ReporViewer's Design page.
I have "Fruits" as column fields and Months as row fields and Sales as data field.
I have these columns:-
Apple, Orange, Pear.
However, I want it be displayed as
Orange, Pear, apple.
Any work around ?
Also I need a 4th column adding the Apple, Orange and Peer numbers total. How to do it in design view in VS2008 ?
I am using assembly Microsoft.ReportViewer.Webforms Version=10.0.0.0. However, each time I build the solution it adds Microsoft.ReportViewer.Webforms Version = 8.0.0.0 by itself. I tried removing Version 8.0.0.0 reference manually and tried building it again but it keeps adding the later version.
View 11 RepliesI was hoping someone could shine some light on this subject. I am wondering if the Microsoft Report Viewer could show a full listing of all the records/rows displayed in addition to it's default pagination viewing. I am using MS VS 2008 with ASP.NET 3.0.
View 1 RepliesI need to create a template for a Report to show the appointment letter. When teachers are approved student choices, It will auto generate a report gathering all the necessary information.
I know how to create a basic report using the ms report wizard but what if I want to redesign it, because I want each page per students.
I'm having a problem with Microsoft Report Viewer reports in local mode...
A little background info:
I have a flat data file which I load into memory (split into fields in a dataset) and need displayed in a report. The data structure of this file is hierarchical with about 4 levels: File, Batch, Entry, and AdditionalInfo. The amount and names of the fields in the Entry records change depending on a field in their parent's Batch record (lets call this field BatchType). So while I'm reading Batches i need to look at this BatchType field to know how to read/display the child Entries.
Problem:
Since my Entry sections in my report will be different depending on the BatchType field in the Batch record, I researched a bit and found out that the only way to do this was to do subreports. I figured I'd have to have a different subreport for each Entry type. However, I've been unable to find a way to change the ReportName parameter in the subreport object during runtime. I dont even know if it's possible to change a subreport's ReportName on the fly.
I am trying to display a report .rdl by using microsoft report viewer on a web form. i got 2 vertical scrollbar appear in report when i run the report. Does any one knows how to disable it?
View 1 RepliesI am missing this DLL reference in c:program filesSQL Server90ToolsBinn. I'm assuming that this is because I didn't install the 2005 client. I installed all of the services for 2005, the database instance, reporting services instance, SSAS and SSIS. I installed the 2008 client though, not the 2005 client, and 2008 database instance. So I assume it's because I didn't install the client, but does something else give me this DLL? Another install or a SDK or something?
View 1 RepliesI get this error when i try to design a new report using MicrosoftReportViewer in asp.net after i select a connection string in the wizard and click next.
An unexpected error has occured
Error Message: Could not load type 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.DataDesign.SyncDesigner.SyncFacade.SyncManager' from assembly 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.DataDesign.SyncDesigner.DslPackage, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyTokenb03f5f7f11d50a3a'
I am wondering if the Microsoft Report Viewer control allows for display changes. Say for instance a user wants would like to see all the data requested then another time would like to toggle thru the pages of infomation. So does anyone know if the control allows for display changes from complete view to paginated viewing. I am using MS VS 2008 with ASP.NET 3.0.
View 6 RepliesI am trying to create a rdlc report.
View 2 RepliesCurrently, I need to use this Microsoft Report Viewer to create several reports.
The problem I'm having is that within the Microsoft Report Viewer, there are 2 functions. The 2 functions are the print function and also the export function.
I'm connected to the local host only for this project.
In VS2008 C# web applications when using Microsoft Reportviewer to create an embedded rdlc report you can generate a report on the screen but when you try to send that same report to the printer by clicking the printer icon on the toolbar you get an error stating:
"unable to load client print control"
How do you get the report to print on the printer?
I have created a Data Source, Data Source Views and a Report Model. I then tried to deploy it and got the above error.I have seen a lot of possible answers via Google but none as yet have worked for me.I have Windows 7 and Microsoft SQL2008 full package.

View 2 RepliesI'm using a MultiHandleSliderExtender (very cool) and need to set its Length property to a percent of its DIV container. The extender appears to only allow a decimal value for the number of pixels. Can anyone show me how to set the Length to, say, 95% of the DIV? I suppose using javascript to dynamically set it? I'm a C# guy who struggles with javascript and I cannot make this fly on my own.

Can I use any validation control? if so how can i use it?
View 6 RepliesI tried it and it only returns the first table.
View 2 RepliesI have a piece of sql code that selects the top 10% of a table. See below a sample of the database table
And this is my code
[Code]....
So what this code does is add up all the points in the points table, (also works out what percentage of the points each user has) and then displays the top 10%, which in this case will give me "John" and "Dave"
So what I need the sql to do is check if any other records in that table have the same number of points ast the last selected record, and to select it to.
