View 1 RepliesIam working on a banking web application developed in asp.net 3.5 and MS SQL Server 2008.My problem is to create reports including some pre-formatted reports, summary reports and some detail reports.I want to know what is the best technique to create these reports.I don't want to use third party reporting tools as they have to be configured on the web server and some times they takes lot of time in generating reports due to their complex structure.Since its a web application having large recordsets so i need a consistent solution keeping in mind the performance and complex nature of the reports which might be demanded by the banks. Can anyone help me please in this regard?

View 2 RepliesI have an report that is in pdf file. Everytime the user click the button, it will go to SQL database and pull up the data, and then create the pdf file based on that data.
I wanted to save the pdf file the first time user click on the link. So that when he / she come back and open the report, instead of going to the data base and pull the data. It will just pull the pdf file from the file system. Here are the code that I have :
Dim parameterUid As String = CStr(Request.QueryString("Uid"))
I need to make a report with a hidden header , But I need to show the header Only when printing or exporing to Excel or PDF.

In SSRS 2005 I could select the header row of a table and in the properties window, expand the BorderStyle property and type Solid in the Bottom property and I would get a border at the bottom of the row containing my column headers. In SSRS 2008 I cannot do this. If I select the header row, the BorderColor, BorderStyle and BorderWidth properties do nothing when you expand them. If you try typing into them you get an error: "Property is not valid." So I selected the header textbox for one column and tried adding the bottom border to it, thinking that I might have to set each column individually, but the border does not appear for that column heading.

Problem 2: I am using matrix. I want the header to stay on the top when the users scroll through the report. Is this possible?
