SQL Reporting :: Change Parameter Property After Selecting Another Parameter?

Oct 19, 2010

Is it possible to change a parameter's property after the uer has made a selection or filled in another parameter field? I'm using VS2005

Case:

- 3 parameter fields; Country,Station,Carrier all three are textfields and are allowed to stay 'blank'.

- When the user enters a Country-code in the 'Country' parameter field, the 'Carrier' parameter should become a required field.

I did some searching on the net, but haven't found the solution. I started to wonder if it's actually possible?

SQL Reporting :: Create Another Parameter That Acts A Filter For The Other Parameter?

Jun 26, 2010

One of our customers has a report with a single value string parameter that has over 1000+ possible values. selecting single value from 1000+ choices results in bad UI, among other things.create another parameter that acts a filter for the other parameter. So you would have Param1 with say 25 choices and selecting a choice would narrow down the option for the second parameter.Is this the best way. What is the best practice for handling these kinds of parameters?

SQL Reporting :: PDF Rendering Fails With Reporting Service For Some JPG Images?

Jun 13, 2010

I am using Microsoft SQL server 2008 reporting service to generate PDF reports for my application.All was working fine, until I start to get the following error. I came to know after some google that this is because of some JPG images having metadata. If I have png image then its fine, but for me to convert these jpg to png is not an option, since all I have available is JPG.I installed service pack 1 as well, but its same. I have following SQL server installed.

"Microsoft
SQL Server 2008 (SP1) - 10.0.2531.0 (X64) Mar 29 2009 10:11:52 Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.0 <X64> (Build 6002: Service Pack 2)"

I found few solutions like mentioned here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967618 But thats for 2005. Surprisingly, already solved error for 2005 coming for 2008.

WCF / ASMX :: Web Service Determine Details About Its Consumer

Apr 6, 2010

Is there a way to get information about the web site or application that is consuming the Web Service. I would like to determine the details of an application from within my Web Service when it is consumed. The information would be like that in the assemblyInfo of the caller, application name, version etc. Getting the user seems to be easy enough but not details about the application or web site.

Linq - Couldn't Determine Metatable Error Binding List To Datagridview

Dec 25, 2010

List<ThemeObject> themeList = (from theme in database.Themes
join image in database.DBImages on theme.imageID equals image.imageID
into resultSet
from item in resultSet
select new ThemeObject { Name = theme.Name, ImageID = item.imageID}).ToList();
dgvGridView.DataSource = themeList;
dgvGridView.DataBind();

The list object populates fine. The datagrid is setup with 2 columns. A textbox column for the "Name" which is bound to "Name" An image column which is bound to the "ImageID" field. When I execute the code I receive the following error on the DataBind() Could not determine a MetaTable. A MetaTable could not be determined for the data source '' and one could not be inferred from the request URL. Make sure that the table is mapped to the dats source, or that the data source is configured with a valid context type and table name, or that the request is part of a registered DynamicDataRoute. I'm not using any dynamicdataroutes as far as I can tell. Has anyone experienced this error before?

C# - Why Does Silverlight Reference To Wcf Service Blow Up When Add Method To The Wcf Service That Returns Generic List

Aug 17, 2010

I have built a WCF Service that is being consumed by a Silverlight app. At first I created one method that was very simple:

public String SfTest()
{
return "SF Test";
}

No poblem. My silverlight app references my service and displays "SF Test" in a textbox. Now I add a method to my wcf service like this:

public List<String> GetTest()
{
List<String> list = new List<string>();
String a = "a";
list.Add(a);
String b = "b";
list.Add(b);
return list;
}

I update the reference to the service in my Silverlight app and the using statement in my xaml cs page throws an error like the service doesn't even exist although it is there. I am assuming the problem has to do with datatypes or serialization or something like that but it is driving me up the wall. Why can't I consume a simple generic list in my Silverlight app through the WCF service.

SQL Reporting :: Pass A Parameter Into Report?

Aug 27, 2010

I looked all over the forums, spent about a day on it, found numerous people having similar problems passing a parameter, but all the solutions I found so far were partially incomplete or incompatible to my project. I tried using a few of the "solutions" and they generated exceptions. I'm using straight ASP.NET so far with no c#. Is there a way to do it without code behind? I'm certain that if you provide a complete working example that others in the future will be very grateful as well. Here is what I have thus far:

I used studio to create an .ASPX web form, and I used the report wizard to create a .RLDC file on the .ASPX page. When I execute it, it works! Beautiful... Now how do I pass it a parameter? So this is what I have below (which works), but I want to pass in a single int32 parameter to the stored procedure usprptGetData in which it is based.

[Code]....

I tried adding this code below and it generates exceptions:
