I'm using ReportViewer Control (2008) and I created a report as an invoice template.
In the invoice, I need to display the company information in multiple lines (and as many lines as the customer likes). So I use the .Net Ajax HtmlEditor for the customer to input the company information and I store these information into the database. I want to know that, how can I display these HTML content in the invoice?
I have some reports that are wider than normal. I have set the report's InteractiveSize to 0in,0in, but I kept the report size to the standard 8.5,11.
When I run the report like this, the control is sized to about a third the with of the browser page width and the height is about half. Not good!
I then tried this combo: SizeToReportContent = "true" AsynchRendering="false" on the viewer and size changes but still get scroll bar.

i have installed sql server 2008 with reporting service and visual studio 2008 and business intelligence when i create a new project asp.net web site, i need to use some report, so i add the control reportivewer in my page and in the property windows when i have to set the destination report, i am unable to set it, in the dropdown list does not compares nothinghow can i do?

I dont want to copy paste the rdlc files into one large file. found a control by Telerik called ReportBook but it costs money!! [URL] anyone knows something similar? or am i missing something very obvious? using visual studio 2005... will subreports solve my problem? not sure how these work. so say i have a report that lists employers and i create a subreport that lists all employees for a particular empoyer. is it then possible on one rdlc to have the list of employers and a bunch of subreports for each employer's employees?

I have the following code that from a click of a button will create a PDF of a .rdlc report. It works great but I have to have a reportviewer setup on the page in order for it to work.
Is there anyway via VB code to PDF the report without having to incorporate a reportviewer on the screen? What happens if I have a report with more than 1 tableadapter configured in it?
Also, how can the code be set to Print the report without a reportviewer?

I now have a ReportViewer control on asp.net page with datasource select Country, Product, Value from Table1. This reportviewer is associated with Report1.rdlc and currently Report1.rdlc has this matrix layout
Country as row field, Product as column field and value as Calculate field (Sum)
I want on button1click on asp.net, the report change to this layout:
Product as row field, Country as column field, value remains as Calculate field.
How should I proceed with this ? I know pointing to Report2.rdlc would be an option but I have more than 20 scenario and I want to keep doing it in same Report1.rdlc. Is there way to programmatically change the layout of Report1.rdlc when buttonclick is fired ?
I have a detail section in report. I am perfectly able to retrieve all the data from the Sharepoint List into datatable and bind it, to generate reports inside the details section.All the columns and related row data are getting displayed as reports in to the detail section.But, my issue is, I want to change the row data for a particular column before rendering on to the report.for instace, if column named Product has some values, I would like to display these values with different string name based on a switch condition. How do I achieve this?
View 1 Repliesam doing some work for a group that has a very old version of SSRS, VS.NET, and SQL Server deployed, and for reasons that are beyond my ability to influence, upgrading to later version(s) of the tools simply is not an option. I wish it were.In this environment, I have prepared a report in the designer for VS.NET 2003. This report renders perfectly in the "Preview" tab in the IDE; yet, when I attempt to view this report via the browser in HTML, the rendering is entirely corrupt and unusable. I added that version's "Report Viewer" control (which was then deployed only as an project within the sample projects), to a sample page and viewed the report through that control, but the rendering is no different; it's still unusable.My question is this: Since the report displays properly in the "Preview" page within the IDE, can that functionality be integrated into a conventional browser page? The preview does me no good if I can't deliver a live page with the same rendering.
Believe me, I would love/prefer/desire to upgrade to the latest version of everything, but I simply have zero influence over that element of this project. I have to use what they provide: Sql Server 2000, VS.NET 2003, and SSRS for SQL Server 2000. Yup, there are cobwebs everywhere

View 1 RepliesI'm using VS2008 and SSRS 2008 R2 and server-side report, we run into an issue with the native Report Viewer seems to always display the report in portrait, but when printing it prints in the correct orientation of the report as it's designed. The problem is that in the report viewer it shows a different number of pages than when it prints. For example if the report is designed in landscape, the report viewer will say the report has 4 pages (because it displays in portrait), but when printed the report is actually 9 pages (because it's landscape). Is there a way to set the report viewer to display the report in the orientation of the report as it's designed?

View 4 RepliesI am developing a web app containing an embedded Reportviewer control, a dropdownlist and Ajax TabContainer. The ReportViewer refreshes the report for every tab click in the TabContainer or for every SelectedIndexChanged event of the dropdownlist. The report I am generating is a 6-month trending report displaying statistical data for the last 6 months from the month and year selected in the dropdownlist. I have used Report Parameter to pass the selected date value (from dropdownlist) from the code to the Report (.rdlc). Using Expressions in report file I have displayed last 6 months names from the passing date value. The C# code looks like this.

The problem is I am not able to set parameters more than once using SetParameters. I will need to pass the parameter value for (a)Everytime the dropdownlist item for month is changed (b) Everytime the TabContainer ActiveTab is changed (c) When the page loads for first time displaying the report for first time. Can someone advise how to pass different values for the same report parameter under different scenarios? Can we change the parameter value passed once it has been set using SetParameters?
I have a ReportViewer on page linked to Report1.rdlc. I want on buttonclick it link to Report2.rdlc and display new result accordingly. I tried below it refreshes but it does not change into Report2. Just stay as it was with Report1.rdlc.

My web form reportviewer control can't seem to find my sub report. When I debug, it gives an error message in the report that states the report can't be found at file path for the sub report. If I copy and paste the path out of the error into the address bar of windows explorer, the report opens right up. I am using VS 2010, the 4.0 framework, and windows 7.

I have a ReportViewer with a long report and so there are scroll bars on right hand side.
Usually we just can use the scroll wheel on mouse to drag downwards to reveal lower part of the page but I found this wheel is not working when the mouse pointer is over the report.
I'm using the ReportViewer control on my .aspx page which displays a single report based on various user parameter selections. Dropdown2 is dependent on the DropDown1 selection (i.e. the user selects Unit A from DropDown1 and that results in 10 selections under Dropdown2, or the user selects Unit B from DropDown1 and that results in 15 selections under DropDown2, and so on). The user makes the selections, clicks the "Run Report" button, and the report displays as expected. The user then can export to Excel or PDF
I've received a request to allow users to run the report for all possible selections and export to their desired format rather than having to run the report for each separate DropDown1 and DropDown2 selection. So in other words, they don't even want to see the report on the screen, they just want to be able to click a button that runs the report for all possible parameter selections and export it to a single Excel or PDF document.

I am writing an application that renders a list of "Job" objects from an AJAX JSON response.
What is the best way to Render the markup from the returned data. Now I'm pretty convinced that its a bad idea to generate HTML markup on the server side and return that from the AJAX call. From experience it makes the HTML hard to maintain and re factoring the content is a nightmare, so I am returning a collection of Job objects as JSON.
The question, then, is how to render the HTML based on user input? I've seen some examples of having your markup template on the page then use JQuery to clone it and populate with the relevant data the insert it into the DOM.
The problem with this is that the template contains visible content (images and suchlike) and the application needs to degrade, so I have a repeater on the page that the severside code and populate on page load if JS is not available.
