SQL Reporting :: ReportViewer: How To Disable Drill Through Function To Users Depending On Dropdown Value
Jan 3, 2011
Is it possible to programmatically disable/enable say column field drill through capability of the matrix table report depending on the textbox.text of dropdownlist value but retaining drill through capability of row fields ?
Is it possible to disable export options on a server report in the ReportViewer control without changing the reportserver.config file?
I have the code to change a Local Report but not a Server Report. We have a group of reports we only want to be able to export to PDF and TIFF while the other server reports should be exportable in all formats.
I have developed a set of ssrs .rdl reports and am trying to display them from the reportviewer control embeded in my asp web page. The problem is that when I select the print icon on the reportviewer control I am prompted to install ms sql server. What is the best way to print .rdl reports from the web page's embeded reportviewer control to the client's local network printer.
I have created a drill down report in SSRS which works fine in Visual studio but when deployed and viewed using a report viewer on an asp.net web page it acts funny. It load fine the first time but as soon as i expand any of the drill downs the width of the report suddenly becomes very! lengthy and the details data disappears.
I am using .rdlc report. On click of the toggle button report gets refreshed. I want to avoid the post back and focus of report should not go at the top.
I've a requirement to know if drill down is expanded then what would be value and if it is collapsed then what would be value in SSRS 2005 reporting. So on the basis of this; i can show and hide data column in the matrix control.
I tried to use inscope() function but always getting - True.
I need something if drill down ------> + = Inscope(Grid) value, - = Inscope(Grid) value.
i would like to hide the % of toggle item when image is + then it sum up the % which is incorrect.
Hence i would like to hide the % column when toggle image is + otherwise show the % column value.
i tried something - IIF(TextBox.ToggleState, false, true) or iif(toggle state = 'Collapsed', Parameter A, Parameter B)) in visibility column with expression but it does not seems to work in SSRS 2005.
Can you please point me to an example of how to implement drill down in RDLC? I am in a situation where the first report appears perfectly, but when I click on a drill down link , i get an error A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source 'RecuirtmentDataSet_ProfileTracker'.
I have been looking on the internet but don't seem to be able to find the answer. I am wondering is there a way to disable a validator on both the client and server side depending on the value of another control.
The situation is that I have a radiobutton that hides a textbox depending on the radionbuttonlist selected value . So I want to disable a validator on both server and clientside if the value selected is "N".
I have only just started to use Reporting Servcies and would like to know is there any way of putting IF statments into the SQL statment depending on the value of a selected parameter.
[Code]....
What I would like to do is when "Parameter!RP_Area.value" = 99 then miss that part of the sql statment out, something like this.
[Code]....
if this is possible and if it is how would I go about doing it?
I have a simple custom membership provider. And i have a roles table also in my database with 2 roles in, User and admin. I dont think i need to implement the roleprovider as this will be overkill for what i need.
How can i modify the validate user method to route users to one URL and admin to another?
Can i put in a If statement to say If role = admin go here after a user has been validated?
I have a question that probably is the easiest one but can't figure it out, this is the deal; I have a table in reporting services that shows the names of employees and their position in a company, but what I want to do is to make the background gray of the entire row when the position is equal to "supervisor", do I made myself clear.
i have 3 dropdown list box 3rd dropdown populate depending on 2nd drop down and 2nd drop down populate depnding on 1st value of drop down in asp .NET C#
New users can register on my site by completing a basic form that has the create user wizard control with some additional information i am collecting using a CheckBox List. They can then log in to the site and and view "MypProfilePage.aspx" where I display the information with the CheckBoxList boxes already ticked based their selections which they can update. My problem is I have two levels of User and each one has a different registration form.
Registration Form A Has 20 Items in the CheckBox List
Registration Form B Has 10 items in the CheckBox List
On the Profile Page, I just want to show the CheckBox which is relevant to the Registration form A or B and with selections by the registered user. So therefore the User who registered on B will not be able to see the selections checkbox list for A.
I want to do ReportViewer, and i want have created a DataSet. I fail to drag the data table from ToolBox. My ToolBox doesn't exist any data table. The output i want to archive is something like this in my DataSet
This is just an efficiency question really.. I'm interested to know if there is a more efficient or logical way that people use to handle this sort of scenario.
In my asp.net application I am running a script to generate a new project my code at the top level looks like this:
[code]....
I create a boolean and each function returns a boolean result, the next function in this chain will only run if the previous one was successful. I do this because an asp.net application will continue to run through the page life cycle unless there is an unhandled exception and I don't want my whole application to be screwed up if something in the chain goes wrong (there is a lot of copying and deleting of files etc.. in this example).
For many of the pages I build, I don't wish to have the ReportViewer visible until firing an event such as a button click. Using .Net 4.0 and ReportViewer10, however, throws the error "Message: Sys.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: panelsCreated[1]" if you try to keep a panel containing the ReportViewer hidden until after a button click.Since I couldn't find much about this topic online, I'd basically been working around this for some time until I figured out today that if you reset the ReportViewer ReportPath in the code behind in the button click (even if it's the same path as in the aspx page), you can successfully keep the ReportViewer hidden until the button click.
