Sep 22, 2010I have a MS Access table with the "ModelID" column set as AutoNumber and primary key. The ModelID is set as Field Size --> Long Integer, New Values --> Increment, Format --> General Number, Indexed --> Yes (No Duplicates).

I have no idea why this is happening? I do not usually use MS Access, i usually use MS SQL Server however this website has an older database. I had to create the tbl_Models as it is a new table and i am thinking i maybe setup the table wrong as i have similar insert into statements that work on other tables....

Sep 25, 2010have a very important issue,i have three Stored Procedures Sp1,Sp2 and Sp3 .the first one (Sp1) will execute the second one (Sp2) and save returned data into @tempTB1 and the Second one will execute the third one (Sp3) and save data into @tempTB2.if I execute the Sp2 it will works and it will returned me all my data from the Sp3 ,but the problem is in the Sp1, when i execute it it will display this Error:INSERT EXEC statement cannot be nested I tried to change the place of execute Sp2 and it display me another error:Cannot use the ROLLBACK statement within an INSERT-EXEC statement.

Dec 15, 2010I have been working on a stored procedure to calculate likert scales for course evaluations. I have the stored procedure done but I ran into an interesting but frustrating situation.
I used a case statement along with a select query to count the number of responses of a given value. Likert scales are usually 5 point scales 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. The value that gave me the trouble was null values. In my evaluation page the instert query puts a null value in the field instead of leaving the response blank. These are the two queries I used both are syntactically correct but one works and the other doesn't. #1 Null query that works

Can anyone explain the differences and why one works but the other doesn't? Can it be as simple as switching the WHEN and the column name and if it is would it be advisable the other ones around?

Mar 24, 2010I have written some vb code that inserts whatever has been written on my page into an Access database. Only problem is VWD throws up an error saying that the syntax of my SQL statement is wrong. I am 95% sure that this statement is correct because when I saw the statement in Text Visualizer and tried that statement in MYSQL the data went in perfectly.

Jul 25, 2010I have this select statement which joins two tables and produces one column as its result. What I'm figuring out is how to add this data into another table as a new column. The output of the select statement and the table I'm going to transfer the data to has the same number of rows. Should I put it first in a temporary table? This column shouldn't allow nulls also.

May 20, 2010I need to insert a record in table which is in remote server....I am using two connection strings for local and remote....both the servers are in same workgroup only...so am able to connect the both.The problem is am filling data of local table in on dataset1 and remote server table data in another dataset dataset2..Now whil inserting a record local an error occured like "This row already belongs to another table" after googlingI found like this like "Dataset.importrow()" instead of "dataset.add()" method...then there is no errors but the inserted record is not inserting in remote server database...
