I am using VWD 2010 with SqlServer 2008. I would like to make an exact copy of my database for testing purposes only so I can test my site before I publish it, make sure everything works so I do not have to reset any tables in my main db.
I'm currently building a .net web application that uses WCF web services to allow a Flex front end to access the database.
I'm in the process of setting up some unit/integration style testing on the web services and am trying to work out the best way to allow the tests to access and modify data in a separate test database.
Currently, the connection string in my unit test project points to my testing database, and the connection string in my web services project points to my development database. However, as I am using Linq it appears that when I call the web service methods from my test class, it uses the development database connection string. I have looked into creating mock objects or in-memory database but I believe the same issue would occur.
Is there a way to get this to work, or is my entire idea about what I want incorrect, in which case is there a better way to set this up?
i have database in internet ,its now on my server by using ip and username and password but this database is empty table ;i have database on my pc how can i copy all table from this database to new dabase with relation and procedure..?
I want to copy a database on a development server to my local server. I am not the server administrator but I have rights to the database. Soon after the wizard Executes the SQL Server Agent Job it fails and the error message says:
The job failed. Check the event log on the destination server for details.
Where do I find this log? Also what could be the problem?
I am developing applications that use Microsoft sql server databases. I use SQL Server Management Studio to create these databases and add table, etc. I would like to be able to make a duplicate copy of one of these databases so that I could use one database for production and the other database for testing. Also is there some way that I can copy a table in one database to another database?
i want to copy the structure (with the documents) from our vss server to an webserver. Therefore i want to create an application which is on this webserver. i want to use asp.net.

I am stuck with an issue. I have around 200 rows in a table with a particular database. I want to copy those values to another table in a different database.
copying some data from an existing remote database(SQL2005) to an existing local database.First - I have very little experience in this area. I'm using Visual Web Developer 2008 (VB). Currently if I want to update some data in the local database I do something like this:
Dim conn As Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection = New Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("CCCdbConnectionString").ConnectionString) Dim cmd As Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand = New Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand("UPDATE [Orders] Set [OrderStatus]
is there a microsoft tool to export the whole database with all of its content to a ".sql" file?i need to use this to copy my database from one database to another.i remember that microsoft make a tool to integrate with sql server 2005.
Recently for a class to implement unit test for one of its private methods I used PrivateObject by creating private accessor instead of refelection, to which i received a code review comment as below
"My main concern with Private Object is the use of object[] in constructor. It replaces strong typing enforced by compiler with JavaScript-style run-time error detection.Consequently , personally, I would not recommend it."
Comments above confused me beacuse as per my understanding reflection also needs the object[] to invoke any method.
am working as a web developer in a company. I am not aware of anything related to testing. Our company is planning to buy some testing softwares. Presently we are working on ASP.NET. We will be working on PHP and JAVA in future. I need your help to find out the best but cost effective testing sofwares.on TFS and Visual Studio Testing tool.
My application works locally, but when I upload it to my remote server some of the components do not work. If I use the microsoft chart control it blows the hole page up and it works locally. Does anyone know how to test stuff locally that would be exactly like what is on the remote server? I think it has to do with my hosting service. How could you test if this was true? Just upload to another remote server?
I am new to Wordpress so what I did was to setup up everything through Microsoft Webmatrix. Everything installed find for my Local Host Server. As long as I load up the Webmatrix program first I can put the "localhost" adress in my browser and my Wordpress theme will load up fine. The next step I did was to try to edit my theme via Dreamweaver CS5. I followed all the Adobe on-line instructions for setting everything up. Nevertheless when I press the live view button Dreamweaver keeps asking for the Texting Server which I thought I already had setup. I pointed the "testing server" folder to the same folder as Wordpress (where the theme is also located via "My Websites." Everything else seems to work and I followed all the instructions given by Adobe. See: [URL] Nevertheless when I press the Live View button Dreamweaver keeps begging for the teasting server. I have the "server model" set to PHP MySQL.
I need a book to recommend strategies for load-testing an ASP.NET application with SQL Server backend. Some info that may be useful:how to write a load test planwhat perfmon counters to use andtypical threshold valuesfinding bottleneck various load testing tools
I have deployed my site in Win 2003 server. In this, it copies file from Another server and copies it in local. It is working with my local computer, but not in the server i have deployed. I hope access credentials may be the first reason. But are there any other reasons for this.
