I have two tables for storing language translations - tblEN and tblES. They have the same structure which is nvcEnglish and nvcLocal - both nVarChar fields.
In nvcLocal of the Spanish table, I enter the Spanish translations of words and phrases used within my app. Problem is, when I add a bunch of new records to the English table I also have to go in and repeat the data entry into the Spanish table. I am wondering if there is a way to import the newly added records into the Spanish table using Transact SQL?The plain language query would be something like:
If the data in tblEN.nvcEnglish does not exist in tblES.nvcEnglish then insert a new row into tblES with the values from tblEN

I have a SQL database that creates a record for every document uploaded by the user to the server. I want to check this table before a user uploads a document to ensure they don't upload a file with name that already exists.
I know how to make the connection and make the SqlCommand to query the table for an existing record. But I don't know how to check the record count from the sqlCommand I made.
Does that make sense?
Using myConnectionCheck As New SqlConnection(myConnectionStringCheck) Dim myCommandCheck As New SqlCommand() myCommandCheck.Connection = myConnectionCheck myCommandCheck.CommandText = "SELECT * FROM Req_Docs WHERE Doc_Name =" & DocName myConnectionCheck.Open() myCommandCheck.ExecuteNonQuery() End Using

I tried to establish a relation between two tables in such a way that Table_Contracts will still accept NULL values for [PO_No], but [PO_No] on TableContract will be automatically updated when [PO_No] on Table2_PONo changed. Moreover, if you want to delete a record on Table2_PONo, it needs to be stopped if there is a related data in Table_Contracts.
I set a relation with these parameters:
Check existing data on creation or re-enabling> No
Enforce for replication> No
Enforce foreign key constraint> No
Delete Rule> No Action
Update Rule> Cascade
I got this error
Introducing FOREIGN KEY constraint 'FK_Table_Contracts_Table2_PONo' on table 'Table_Contracts' may cause cycles or multiple cascade paths. Specify ON DELETE NO ACTION or ON UPDATE NO ACTION, or modify other FOREIGN KEY constraints.
I have a table with three columns (ProdID,ProdName,Status). I m fetching that into a dataSet and binding that to my gridview. I have a very basic and simple rowdatabound event like this :

my main intention is that, the exsisting table of sql server database(.dbo) with 1000's of records, that should be import to a new access database table(.mdb).for example if we want to had a new table in db2, of exsisting table in db1 with some conditions by using "select * into New_Tabel from (select * from Exsisting_Table where <Condition>) as objectName". Here the new table is created and records inserted in one execution in db2. The same work should be done for access(sqlserver db --> Access db).Here the new access database table with given name (as string_sysdate) must be created dynamically by clicking a button (multiples time creating new table).Is there any query or c# code for sql server database to access database.
I've a table where one person teaches multiple classes. It looks like this.
Table1
Id Name Class Subject ---------------------------------------- 2 Sam 12 English 2 Sam 10 Maths 2 Sam 10 English 2 Sam 8 History 2 Sam 12 Economics
Here Sam teaches Class 12 - English & Economics, Class 10 - Maths & English, Class 8 - History
I want to display the result like this -
Id Name Class Subject --------------------------------------------------------------- 2 Sam 12 English, Economics 2 Sam 10 Maths, English 2 Sam 8 History
I would like to use ASP.net, C# and SQL to display a list of games with radio buttons like below (the x is the radio). One team can be selected for each game.
game 1: x team 4 x team 2 game 2: x team 6 x team 1 game 3: x team 5 x team 3
The game list is stored in a table in an SQL database. So far, I can pull all teams into one big RadioButtonList. I cannot figure out how to create multiple RadioButtonList controls from this single table of games. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished - or reference to an example / tutorial that accomplishes something like this?
I tried nested ListViews but can get the display wanted.In my database I have a Category Table and a Product table.They share the CG_ID value.I want to make a stored procedure that will use two select statements to produce a single table.that can be used as a ListView DataSource.
I would like to check whether a folder exists or not if not create. I'm sure this folder exists, but for some reason I get "false" when I check with "Exists" method.
The only reason I think could be because of the W: drive? I moved this application to production site and even there it returns false.
while I'm type in Windows explorer on my localhost and on the server "W:/Webs/ASPPages/cropper/uploads" it opens this folder. So my localhost and IIS server has W: mapping.
for test I tried to create the folder then it says can't find the path...
userFolderName = @"W:/Webs/ASPPages/cropper/uploads" //I also tried @"W:WebsASPPagescropperuploads" //I also tried @"W:WebsASPPagescropperuploads" //I also tried "W:\Webs\ASPPages\cropper\uploads" DirectoryInfo dirInfo = new DirectoryInfo(userFolderName);........
I am doing a data warehouse project.I have two tables tblA (id, type) and tblB(city, no_crimes, type).I want to create (insert) a number of rows based on the value of no_crimes.For Example, in tblB(Leeds, 2000, murder). SO, I need to insert 2000 rows into tblA by a single INSERT statement (not 2000 statements).
