SQL Server :: Error With Express When Web Site Run On Localhost
Jul 26, 2010
I had an error with SQL express server which when my web site run on localhost. It works perfectly alright but once I uploaded on web hosting, it display an error. As I am completely new to asp.net and MS SQL express server, i don't have any idea how to fix this problem. Here is the error message:
I have built a web site using WIndows 7 64bit, C#, VS2010, Access 2010 DB. I am ready to continue testing... ASP.NET testing has gone well with no errors but now I am publishing a web.site to the localhost IIS 7 and I am having trouble publishing it. I am getting a permissions error. Do not know what is gong on when I am the only user, no network, just me myself and I.VS2010 tells me that I need to close VS and re-open as the Administrator to publish to the local machine... ? How do I do that when there is only 1 user (me) on this machine.
I'm having an issue that has made me loose too many hours already. My site works fine in VS2008 with SQL Express 2008. However, when I try to deploy the site following these steps:
1. Create a new site IIS 7.0 2. Copy all the files from my code folder to IIS 7.0, (I was planning to delete the code latter) 3. Browse to my Index.aspx
The error message I receive is Cannot open database "AnimalSafe" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITYNetwork Service'. I've already changed the application pool to use Network Service to authenticate and have made sure that SQL is running under this account.
I was given a new Win 7 machine for development and converted our project to it. Everything is working fine except posting a an XML from to localhost. I'm getting the famous (500) Internal Server Error. (previous machine was Vista...) I had also upgraded from VS2008 to VS2010.
There is nothing in the event log, and the IIS log shows that the web server does get the hit: 2010-09-15 15:03:13 W3SVC1 MYCOMPUTER ::1 POST /xml/MRPImport.asmx/UploadForecast - 81 - ::1 HTTP/1.1 - - - localhost:81 500 0 0 280
Below is the code that was working perfectly fine until the upgrade.
Dim oWeb As New System.Net.WebClient() oWeb.Headers.Add("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded") Dim bytArguments As Byte() = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(strXMLData) Dim bytRetData As Byte() = oWeb.UploadData(ToURL, "POST", bytArguments)
It worked correctly in Localhost but when I upload my site on host when I open page that I used captcha for it, it didn't show captcha image so I can't enter captcha in textbox
I use IIS6 but i try your code but again it didn't show any image
see here in code is Path="Image.ashx" but i didn't have any file like that im my website? what is that?
when i see view source for captcha is below code
<img alt = 'Captcha' src = '/Image.ashx?key=potezmL9FvScT6cn0%2b2Jnnj3liguFvrFBT38H9ZMCHA%3d&color=%23000000' align = 'NotSet' /><input type = 'hidden' name = 'ASPNET_Captcha1_Expression' value = 'LL/VwR57t2e4qP5UmLxEDA==' /></span>
and when i click on SRC below error occure
The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /Image.ashx

The code below is generic, found in a variety of places, including a book I have. I have used it as a base for a working program in VS 2005. Now I've resurrected it with my current Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition and I seem to have problems connecting it to my default development server (I don't have IIS on my XP). The error is: (500) Internal Server Error.

After I installed Visual Studio 2008 Standard edition, then I upgrade "SQL Server Express 2005" to "SQL Server Express 2008 SP2". Process upgrading SQL Server Express 2008 was going succesfully (none of the process was fail).
But when I create a New Website I could not add a new item "SQL Server Database" into my website file. Because Visual Studio always rejected any new "SQL Server Database" by giving message below (underline):
This server version is not supported. Only servers up to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 are supported.
I have uploaded all files to my server. and while im checking the site it shows the following error." Server Error in '/' Application. Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster,ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey"what i have to do/how to fix it.
I am trying to deploy a simple page that just has 3 textboxes and a button that calculates 2 numbers.I copied the site to my server and when I try to go to the site throught IE I get the error below. How do I reslove this runtime error?
Server Error in '/' Application.
Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
[Code]....
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

I have a web service that I have successfully published locally several times through VS2008. When I attempt to publish this service through VS2010, a dialog window is displayed where you must enter a 'Service URL' and 'Site/Application.' The service URL is not a problem, but what do I enter as a 'Site/Application?'
My entries are as follows:
Service URL: http://localhost/gfIDSProxyAccess/Service1.asmx Site/Application: localhost/gfIDSProxyAccess
I also tried localhost, gfIDSProxyAccess, www.gfcpa.com, gfcpa.com, www.gfcpa.com/index.html and localhost/gfIDSProxyAccess/Service1.asmx, with and with and without the http://.
I'd like to learn more about MS Business Intelligence Development Studio. I'm doing this on my own, so I'd like to keep my software costs down. It's my understanding that BIDS comes with the download for SQL Server, but is used in Visual Studio (by creatign a BIDS project). Is this accurate? My question is - Is it possible to get a working copy of BIDS by downloading SQL Server Express and Visual Studio Express?
i wanna to show a message box but i prefer to be server side ,i wanna to have full control over it,i mean the number of buttons, the icon etc like windows application.the problem when add reference to system windows.forms and use it , when publish the site on the server i have an error , i can't remember exactly , but when remove all my messages every thing becomes ok.this problem appears even with summary validation when i wanna to be shown as a message box rather than list.

I'm new to this forum. I was directed here from an Expression Web forum. I am using Expression Web, but this seemed like the most appropriate place to post. I have a site [URL] that uses masterpages and I'm having a problem...sometimes...when I publish the site.
