using vs.net 2005.I have a console application that is displaying a Crystal Report.I want to use a query that I created in sql server mgmt for the data in Crystal reports.some questions:
1. how do I do this?
2. Is is more efficient to do this with stored proc or just enter the query?
3. There are some fields where I need a case statement because so that I can display meaningful text (not the code values that are returned), is it normally more efficient to put the case statement in the SQL or to add logic in the report for this?
I have 3 tables(Status,Clist, longlead) having "WOnumber" common column in 3 tables and 3 web forms(status.aspx,Clist.aspx,longlead.aspx), on main page(status.aspx) i have buttons to redirect the clist.aspx and longlead.aspx to give the inputs and save it to database.I have button called scheduleReport on status.aspx when i click this button I want the values from Clist table and longlead table of corresponding WONumber values should be listed either in word or pdf.on the top of the report it should have WONUmber.
I've googled this to death and can't find anything that points me in the right direction. I want to generate a report that consists of X no. of gridviews (X can vary) where each gridview is added one at a time using ajax (to avoid timeout of rendering all gridviews in single post back). I am also hoping that when rendering the next gridview a progress bar/timer can also appear in it's place until it's finished processing and is rendered.
Does anyone know how I might tackle this? I wouldn't have a problem doing this in a single post back but now the reports are timing out I need to generate the report piece by piece dynamically.
After reserving a ticket for an travel agency, I want generate a printable report using Crystal Report. I'm looking for a way to do that. Any video tutorial or something like that?

I have an ASP.NET website in which I have to perform a certain operation. I have to displaying the ID's from the DB on menu.aspx page in this format {1:2:3:4}. The above format is not a problem and can be just be written with
[code]....
Note that I am saying that user will type this URL. I know that query string can pass the values from one form to another but this is a single web form and if I attach this ?search=yes, it should return the result. How can this be done?
How to generate and download PDF Report from database in ASP.Net using iTextSharp C# and VB.Net. I have a Nested GridView implemented from the following article:

I am trying to add some filters to a gridview that I am working on, and I'm wondering if it is possible to generate links or buttons above the gridview based on the years returned in the dataset. For example, if my dataset contains dates from 2001, 2009, and 2031 in my date column, I would like to be able to take that data from my SQL query (getting a distinct list of years is not an issue), and generate the buttons. From there, I would filter the data in the gridview based on the user clicking the buttons.
Is dynamic generation of buttons possible in ASP.NET? I do have some other ideas of how to accomplish the same functionality, but I would prefer to do it this way.
How to achive this using any of the data control gridview, datalist or repeater control ?the numbers 1,2,3....31 are the days in a month while "HomePage", "Maps" etc are the name of the pages and the entry below each date will show no of users visited the page. I want to show the same for every month
i have fetched required data and the output is as follows .
I need to embed one Access app in a asp.net app. (open mdb/mde file from asp.net) There are may queries including crosstab queies and reports in Access app.

I've created a ssrs report using cube and i drag and drop the columns in the ssrs report and it works fine.Issue arise when i would like to update the mdx query. If i modify the mdx and try to save then it pops up a window with a message -"If you modify the MDX statement associated with this query and then return to design mode, your changes will be lost."After this message my changes get lost.Pls let me know how to make the changes in the MDX after designing a ssrs report.
I am trying to clean up some application work. I have this query application that creates a report that is displayed in a gridview in a new window. If the records have further information the gridview displays a field containing a URL (which is generated in SQL) to open an edit form allowing the user to view and edit the selected record. The URL looks something like this:
All is well untill I go to close the edit form, which is when I get this:I know this has something to do with opening and closing windows server/client side.
When trying to generate rdp files on a web server with C#, when I try to save the rdp file it always fails with access denied. ASPNET and Network Services has full access, and even added EVERYONE as full permissions and it still won't save?
I am getting below error while generating report using crystal report:
Error in File C:WindowsTEMP epEnquiry {095737EB-07B4-437D-9E86-85780B7417B0}.rpt: Access to report file denied. Another program may be using it.
For this i did google and found some solutions but still its not working: what i tried: -given full access to aspnet and network services on my root directory and reports folder and then restarted iis.
By right clicking on my database i created a query in server explorer. But where are this query stored can't find them back. I should aspect that their is a folder query's like there is a folder tables but this isn't the case.
I am trying to create statitics for game downloads and am having dificulty with a sub part of my query. the goup by command is not having the disired result and i think i have been looking at it too long to see what i am doing wrong. [Code]....
At the moment it is producing each result in many rows when only 4 rows should appear. its the download column that is doing it. needs to be sub queried or something to display total in relation to month, gameid, userid.
I am trying to display this query result in an aspx page.
It is very slow in loading. Here is the query. The inner query inside the outer quesry is the problem.(Please see the underlined part in the query) - (If I remove that part it is very fast.)
