i have build an MSI file for my project. Now what i need i am having some text boxes on my form. If i click on save i would like to save it as text file to the application installed folder.
I want to save the text data that coming from the database into the Text files.Suppose if i have dataset that contains 10 rows then i want to generate 10 text files and each text files contains associated row data. Finally i want to save them in the folder.Mail all the text files as a compressed format like zip and send them to the user.
I have uploaded a .jpg image and resized as Small and Large thumbnail. The small image is (135 X 173) but after resizing the small thumbnail image file size is of 40.8 KB. And mostly all images (around 64) thumbnails having file size more than 40 KB. Due to which thumbnails taking lot of time to get display.
Is there a way through which we can reduce the image file size upto 8 to 12 kb, but without effecting image quaity??
Below is the source code that i am using for resizing an image:
If FileUpload1.HasFile Then Dim stream As Stream = FileUpload1.PostedFile.InputStream Dim x As String = IO.Path.GetExtension(FileUpload1.FileName).ToLower If x = ".jpg" Or x = ".jpeg" Then Dim image As New Bitmap(stream)
i have done a small code like if i enter some value in my text box i will pop up a new form corresponding to the value entered i will take the values from the pop up form and click on save and i am redirecting to the previous page and will click on save now i would like to save the data along with the data that is entered in the pop up form
Ex : My first form is like
Name ABC
Address XYZ
Value 3 Here when i enter 3 i will get a pop up if i click on save it will take input 3 times from the user. That data should be carried to the prev form and wiil fill the remaining values in that form and click on save
I need to save a text file on the client side possibly without permission. The case is that I need to save this text file in a shared folder in this or in another machine in the lan. This text file is going to be read automatically by the fiscal printer which will print the fiscal invoice. I have a asp .net web application and the server is not on the same lan with the fiscal printer, so I have to write it on the client-side. how to do this without asking to the user every time for the security issue.
I can accept a solution like, the client is asked only one time a the first printing, but not every time he wants to print a bill. Some kind of asking permission to the client for allowing this website, in order to not repeat the permission asking.
I'm trying to figure out how to save my XML file in the outside location.
I have a Main web app that uses an XML file as a datasource for one of it's pages. This XML file is generated manually by accessing a utuility page in the same app. I created a utility app that resides outside of the Main app ( it's on my C:/Inetpub/wwwroot) but it should save an XML file in the directory of the Main applicatoin. My utility works fine if I need to save to C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/XMLFiles) but I when I try to access the file at the Main application something like that:
It gives me an error: System.Web.HttpException: Cannot use a leading .. to exit above the top directory. If I just type full URL it says that URI cannot be resolved.. How can I access that Tests.xml file to update it?
I'm using a file uploader in my web page to get the path of a .DAT file that the user wishes to upload to a database.Eg: C:\Project1JanWeek1MondayMorning123.DAT There is a text box( which collects the day of the week) adjacent to the file uploader.I need to automatically fill in the text box with the third folder name by parsing it out from the full extention. ( that is the text value in the text box should be Monday)
This needs to be done as soon as the user browsers the file uploader and selects the file. ( There are several more fields the user needs to add before he can submit a button click on this page)
I have an ASP.NET web application and I need to put data from the web page to the output text file.I would like to give user an ability to select the folder where the file will be saved. For example, when the user clicks on the 'Browse' button the select folder dialog should appear. Is it possible to implement such thing in the asp.net web application?
Im with ASP.net using VB.net. What was supposed to happen is that upon page load, the system will automatically create a folder in C:. After that, the user will browse a text file and upload it to the created folder. But what happens is that both the folder and the text file is being uploaded inside C: where it should be the folder only and then the text file should be inside the folder. Here's my code.
Code: Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Directory.CreateDirectory("C:TEXTFILEFOLDER") End Sub Private Sub DeleteFile(ByVal strFileName As String)
I'm working on resource files in windows application. After i'm adding the resource file in the project if i built the project it creates a separate folder for each language with language code(Spanish->es-ES, French->fr-FR..) and also it has one dll file for corresponding langage inside the folder. Why it is creating like this? Can't we avoid this?
Imagine there's a web (mvc) application, which home directory on the server is the default c:intepubwwwroot. What i need is: user requests [URL] Server responses with a simple page with a random picture on it from a predefined path, which is not iis folder/app, like d:lolcats. This sample is tremendously simplified, of course. My solution is: when /randomPicture/ is requested, copy random picture to APP_Images/current_response.jpg or whatever to application home folder and then simply render <img src="../APP_Images/current_response.jpg" />
I have requirement to copy or move file from webserver app folder to local file system folder (user selected). How is it possible in ASP.Net.

I am developing a Web Based Art Gallery. I need to save images to a folder and then retrive them.(I don't want to save images to a database) How should I proceed on it?
I created a website with a file manager where the client can upload, delete, preview etc. This works fint but the problem is that the folders where the files are going to be saved will be on another server. I am testing this locally for now but will deploy it once finished
I setup my website in the IIS. Created a 'Virtual Directory' and linked the directory to a folder in my 'C://'. The virtual Dir path is "~/upload" but when i user Server.Mappath() it gives me "C:/inetpub/wwwroot/website/upload" insted of the actual dir path "C:Documents and SettingsUserMy DocumentsVisual Studio 2008WebSitesWebsiteuploads"
I have a crystal report as reportDoc. In reportDoc.ExportToDisk function it is asking only file name. So let me where should I mention path and how should store in my server folder. I want that file to be saved in particular folder in server in pdf format. Report is converting to pdf. I have no problems in converting. i used a file upload control to upload file..after uploading i want to preview image without storing its path or storing in DB or solution explorrer folder.when i upload using fileupload control..path of image comes in fileupload control now i used a button so,that on button click image should be displayed in image control..
So I would like my solution to save in the same folder as the rest of my files. I am a win forms developer so web is new to me.
1) Is there any reason why I shouldn't do that for web.
2) Second how do I do that. I know that I can change the solution's saving location by changing ToolsOptionProjects & SolutionsProject's Location. However, I just want it to use the location of the new website I create and not that specification.
