I'm working on resource files in windows application. After i'm adding the resource file in the project if i built the project it creates a separate folder for each language with language code(Spanish->es-ES, French->fr-FR..) and also it has one dll file for corresponding langage inside the folder. Why it is creating like this? Can't we avoid this?

I'm wondering how it determines if it should do a release or debug build. Is it always release? Does it depend on what the web.config file says when you run aspnet_compiler.exe?
What happens to an application that's been compiled w/ aspnet_compiler.exe if someone changed the debug attribute in the web.config file after it has been published?
I'm having a problem with a multilanguage application in MVC. On my model I'm using the following:

This takes care of validation... However the messages are always in the default language. Meaning that the setting of the culture of my thread is occuring too late (I'm currently setting it in my base controller 'OnActionExecuting'). Where could I patch in to change the culture accordingly before validation takes place?
I have a class library and was to add a resource file to it to support both English and Spanish. Any tips as how I can do this? The language will be dictated by the user visiting the site. Would like to have to only load each resource file once and cache or set in static variable and avoid any overheads.

I have two folders in my asp.net web application in which I create new folders programmaticaly. The entire solution is under VSS source control. I was not able to manipulate these two folders programmably. For that, I gave {MACHINE}ASPNET user account full control over these two folders. Still, the "access denied to the path" error was coming. I saw that these entire folders were marked readonly. I tried to uncheck Readonly from explorer but not successfull, readonly check does not get removed. Also, if I copy files using method, the destinationn copied file becomes readonly. I have also tried File.SetAttributes (path,FileAttributes.Normal); but no success. How can I make the copied file not READONLY?

View 4 RepliesI have a TFS build set up to deploy an ASP.net project to a test server.The build works great, and deploys to the test server fine, but instead of putting it into the Website directory that my IIS webserver is configured for, it puts the build into Website_20100511.6
Why is the date suffixed to the directory name? Is there a way to turn that off so I can publish directly to the Website?

If the records have further information the gridview displays a field containing a URL (which is generated in SQL) to open an edit form allowing the user to view and edit the selected record. I'm trying to automatically backup some registers of my database using bcp through asp.net. My approach is to create a temporary table with the data I want to save, use bcp to save the table to a txt file and the delete the table. My code is this:

For some reason, the sql command works perfectly in SQL Server, but doesn't even create the file when running in asp.net. Even if I create the file it just keeps blank with a 0kb size.
I tried deleted the command where the temporary table is deleted to check if it was a matter of that table deleting too quickly, but it still doesn't creates a single row on the table.

Ok, here is the problem:I drag and drop my database table into dbml, so i have new table diagram on dbml.For example, I have User table which has two columns(ID, NAME)Then something.design.cs automatically generates User class and definitions for ID, and NAME.

then i added new column in database table named "Password" if i delete old diagram in dbml and drag new table, it re-writes whole something.designer.cs file, so i lose all codes i wrote before.I googled it and people say about Partial class, but i dont know how to use partial class.
Imagine there's a web (mvc) application, which home directory on the server is the default c:intepubwwwroot. I have requirement to copy or move file from webserver app folder to local file system folder (user selected). How is it possible in ASP.Net.
On my page i have textbox and browse button and user clicks browse button to select folder and there is Copy/Move button and when clicked the files under webserver folder should be move to the user selected folder. The webserver folder path is available to application.
Or any class that's not X.aspx.vb. I've imported the Globalization, Threading, Threading.Thread, and UI.Page namespaces. But it won't come up in Intellisense and it gives error lines in my code. Is there a way to access use the GetLocalResource("Y") method in other classes?

When I run the application, 1st page, second page, 3rd page I get Url on page as:

theycan be accessible.
also when i click on 4th Page, I get url as:
localhost:2069/TestPage/Admin/FourthPage.aspx
and 4th page will get displayed.But..When i go back to any other page, it will throw an error
"Resource cannot be found"
with URL as:

How to avoid this Error?
I have added .CSS file in Resources folder of the project.In the same way i can add Images or any other files.But i am unable to use those files in Server Control Project.How to apply CssClass property to any predefined server control to the css file that is stored in the Resources folder ?
