Security :: Restrict The User To Login Only From The System Which He Registered From The Computer?
Aug 28, 2010
In my website, if one user registered from a computer, we have to allow that user to be able to access the site from that computer only. If he try to login from another system even in LAN, we have to deny the access.
Can anyone explain how to make unique login in asp.net
<b>Problem:</b> If user is logged at a client machine and tries to login from other client machine at the same time, then he should be prompted that "You are already logged in, Do you want to continue?" on continue user should be logged out from other machine and logged in to current machine.
I want to get username and machine name of local computer logon to domain. So, how can I get it?My site has annonymous access checked in IIS. cause this application is for the Internet not our company's Intranet.for example, I logon to domain (test.com) in the local computer name is PC1, with the account and pass is: client1 and 1234567.I visit my website, now I want to get user and computer name to show up on asp.net.
Let's say I have 2 computers and has internet connections. let's say in computer 1 I visit the my page and i log-in as User1 and I go now to computer 2 and i do the same thing in computer 1. All i want to do is to kill the session in computer 1 because i log-in in computer 2.
I am the web developer at a medical clinic. I have 2 scenarios going on:
First, I have a physicians only component of our employee portal to allow access to only physician shareholders or physician non-shareholders. My structure is built like:
Physicians Only Administration Affiliations Calendars Compensation Minutes
The Affiliations folder is only going to be accessible by the physician shareholders. Therefore, I have security roles set for Physicians Only and Affiliations. When I test, the security is set correctly on the folders. However, when I try to login as different people, all with different roles, I have to login with user name and password, twice, before the system allows me in.
Secondly, I have secured areas within the employee portal also. However, when I navigate to them, the system doens't usually prompts me to login. If it does prompt me to login, it too, is on the second try. So how does it know who I am? And more importantly, how do I get the system to actually prompt the user to login with their credentials?
I have a sitemap of 5 items. 2 items i only want the admin to see. I want the user to be able to login and the system recognise who it is and if an admin, bring up the 2 items in the sitemap. If not an admin, hide the items.
I have an article table, I am using the login mechanisms provided my MVC2 , since it contains all the required functionalities that i need.(but i do not know what are the database tables that store these information) What i need is to display all the articles created by the login user. currently i am retrieving all the articles from the articles table , as i am not able to retrieve the login name to add it to the following query . the query code looks like this (which is part of the repository class which i have created):-
public IQueryable<Article_Type> FindUserArticle() { return from article in db.Article // where article.createdby >= ??? orderby articletype.Article_Type_Id select articletype; }
I have a login form and users have to enter their username and password for entering the sites ..
Also now its possible for users to enter the sites without login .. they can select the options in the menu and access them ... But i want to restrict the users ..only allow them to access the menu componets after login ... If they tries to access the contents a text have to display ask them to login
how can i do that... i am using vb.net as my language in the page
I need to restrict access to my website by physical PC. When a user signs up I want to be able to restrict access to one machine for that account so it cannot be shared round, if, for example, somebody else in the same office wanted to access the system on their PC they would need a seperate sign in.
I have done some investigation and I "think" the only way is installing an ActiveX component (which isn't an issue that is restricts to IE only) and then read the users MAC address. Am I trying to over complicate things or is that the only way? I realise that MACS can be spoofed but this is not much of an issue.
I have folder in my asp.net website ..namely admin
i have following pages inside admin folder ... login.aspx, home.aspx, welcome.aspx ...
i want if user directly open page ... welcome.aspx or anyother page inside admin folder then it automatically redirect to login.aspx till they login using admin id and pass ...
how to do this setting in web.config...using authorization vb.net
i have two types of role, Member and Staff, i also include profile property for both role
My problem is, I'm now unable to assign Member to the newly registered user, I forgotten what i had modify but last time I can do that without any problem.
Im unable to assign member to registered user is because when i login using the registered account, the LoginTemplate switch to a normal LoggedInTemplate instead of Member logged in template that allow member to access to their own page
But on the other hand, i can register my staff, login and access staff page without any problem
I want to log out the user when he (or someone else) logs in from a diferent computer using the same user name.
Basicaly i want to prevent multiple individuals from staying loged in under a single user name by signing out the previous users. Any ideeas about how i can acomplish that ?
Im using forms authentication on a site. I have a requirement where I have to log the username of the user that is currently logged into the computer. It is not a public site. It is an intranet site at work. I have tried several different methods but they all return the username of the user that is logged into the site. The methods I have tried are below. Note: I would perfer to log the username without the domain.
I there a way to get the user id that they signed on to the computer with from web site project, without changing IIS so they will have to login? This will be interanet and remote internate users.
i need a code for my web app where i want to restrict a user after...let say 10 visits....on the 11 th time when the user tries to login he/she gets a error messege denying login.maybe we can use session or cookies...but i dont want to limit..it with cookies i.e if he tries to enter after 30 days or so he is allow to login. what i raelly want is, a user has only 10 views after that he is unauthorized to login.
i have 4 pages of website 2 pages are authorized to used by USER and 2 pages are restricted for useradmin can authorized to go all 4 pagesi need coding for Login window from which Admin/User Login
I gave an option to user to change password but the text boxes are taking - / @ (special characters). How to check at runtime that user may not enter these characters?
i m currently creating an article module, and i want if user wana comment on to the any particular artical, than he should login any of his mail id like gmail, yahoo hotmail etc and than post his or her comment and after than comment should go into the DB.
i was just wondering how much secure is the Login System integrated within ASP.NET ? This is rather vague but i just wanted to know if a website using the system is rather protected to attacks.
