in a form i have a buttoin, when click both OnclientClick and postback should happen. on clicking the "Email" button a client side "mailto" tag should do the work and pull a new message window on the client's machine.
whereas, the email addresses should be invoked by the post back. so , when clicking the button the server side post should happen and on return the client side script should be invokded with the values read during post back, and populate all the email addresses.
i need know how to first do a server hit take the values and then execute the client script with those values without using AJAX

I have a custom server control for rendering the survey (SurveyRenderer) which contains custom server controls for rendering questions (QuestionRenderers). I dynamically add RequiredFieldValidators for questions if they are flagged as being required. I add these validators to the SurveyRenderer's control collection.
The gist of the code...

The client-side validation works fine -- if someone has omitted a required question, the validators catch it and the form doesn't validate. However if I turn off JavaScript and submit an invalid form, the validators do not seem to work.On the server-side I am calling Page.Validate() and checking Page.IsValid in the submit button click event handler. Despite submitting a form where required questions have been left blank - something that would be caught client-side - on the server-side Page.IsValid remains True.

Should I be adding the validators to the Page's Control collection, rather than the SurveyRenderer? How come it works on the client-side but not server-side?

If I set a breakpoint and step through, I can see that QuestionRenderer.IsValid is being fired OK. It is returning false when it should do. If I go fine-grained and call in btn_submitClick:

I have a button where I use an Animation Extender. When I click the button I have to set OnClientClick="return false;" otherwise the Animation Extender closes.

I want to be able to load a customized log in page depending on a couple of parameters passed into the querystring.Each customized login page needs to be able to dynamically display log in errors and possibly have other variables passed in.
Let's say the dynamic login page looks like this (over-simplification here):

1) asynchronously get data from server to client (working great) and able to display the data in the textboxes.
2) same click i want to bind the gridview.

PROBLEM:
if i have onClientClick="return LoadDataById(); then it executes ONLY ajax code and does not execute server side but if have onClientClick="LoadDataById(); then it executes client and server but textbox value wipeout. (the textbox value popuplate through ajax)
i have a <div> named 'mydiv' on a web page and have set it's runat property as <server> so it is visible within
my vb.net server side code.
i can see the mydiv within the server side code.
my question:
how do i adjust the height/style of the <div> withion the vb.net code so that whe the page is posted back the new height/style settings apply. how do i get to the style properties server side?
I was wondering if there is any way to always run some server side code when a user leaves a page in ASP.NET. The page Unload event is no good because that doesn't get called if someone clicks on a link. Ideally I'd also like the code to run even if the user closes the browser.
