Setting A Date Format In ASP.NET Web.config Globalization Tag
Mar 18, 2010
In our web.config I am using the following tag to determine the interface language of an ASP.NET website.
<globalization
enableClientBasedCulture="true"
culture="auto:en-GB"
uiCulture="auto:en"/>
This works as expected: Client wo request a specific localisation get it, everybody else is happily looking at the en-GB settings

I'm having the following issue with the CalendarExtender Format property when used with Globalization.The ASP.NET application default local is en-CA with a date format of yyyy/MM/dd (as specified by the business). The application also support the fr-CA local and I have included the ToolkitScriptManager with the EnableScriptGlobalization="true" EnableScriptLocalization="true".When using the control in the default en-CA context, everything works as expected. When using the control under the fr-CA context, the control renders properly in French but the returned date format is yyyy-MM-dd and not the specified yyyy/MM/dd. This
results in a validation and parsing failures.

I would like to generate an excel sheet aout of a table in asp. The exporting works fine using an in-house developed framework to export the table. The problem that I'm having is that dates are just written in columns as strings and not initialized with the proper cell format. Is there any way to format the date without any 3rd party software by just setting the value of a cell with a string??
sheet[i,j].Value = "{:DateTime}"+dateStringProperlyFormatted

In my ASP.NET application I set
<system.web><globalization culture="pl-PL" uiCulture="pl-PL" />
to have numbers and dates in this culture.
Surprisingly I noticed that methods invoked from job scheduler (Quartz library) use en-US? Why is that?

I am Using javascript calander to select date into textbox. I have Set the Date Format MM-DD-YYYY . Now when i convert this text string to DateTime then my Actual month of date is changed.
IFormatProvider theCultureInfo = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("en-GB", true);
DateTime date = DateTime.ParseExact(txtDate.Text, "mm-dd-yyyy", theCultureInfo);
For example If i Put in Text Box 2-12-2011 (12 Feb 2011) Then After Converting It will 12-01-2011 00:02:00 .

When I open my ASP.NET site in IIS and try to open the .NET Trust Levels, I get an error message:
.NET Trust Levels There was an error while performing this operation.
Details:
Filename: ?C:inetpubwwwrootmyappweb.config
Line number: 445
Error: This configuration section cannot be used at this path. This happens when the section is locked at a parent level. Locking is either by default (overrideModeDefault="Deny"),or set explicitly by a location tag with overrideMode="Deny" or the legacy allowOverride="false".
I've checked a few places, but I haven't found anything that seems like it would be locking that setting. Is there a systematic way of determining where that setting is locked?
I'm using IIS 7.5 and .NET 3.5 sp1.

I am running into a problem with a web.config in a child project that has the same connection string setting as a parent. We have this in several of our web apps but there is one case where we want a child not to use the parent web.config. Is there a setting or command in the child web.config to ignore the parent web.config?

2010-01-26 12:10:06.990

When i retrieve date from the datebase it appears as dd/MM/yy, that's fine. But i cannot insert a new date as same format?! It will only accept MM/dd/yy or yy/mm/dd.Right now i'm using this code to correct the error:

I'm registering a javascript in aspx.net
Dim script = "<script language = javascript>" & _
"window.setTimeout('ShowTime(true, [?????])', 1000);</script>"
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType, "iniciar", script)
I must write a dateTime parameter in string format, but I'm not achieving the goal. I've tryed various time formats (Eg. 2011/02/10 17:05:00), without success. Ps: I know... when I try with only the date, its ok. But I need the time too.

I'm in the process of converting a couple of sites up to .net 4.0 and I seem to have a problem with regionalisaion of dates.
This code:
Date.Today.AddDays((Date.Today.DayOfWeek - 1) * -1).ToString()
In .net 3.5 produces: '19/04/2010 00:00:00'but as soon as I change the app pool to 4.0 it produces: '4/19/2010 12:00:00 AM'Where can I change the setting that governs this?
