I have a Web Application where I have one and only one master page and with 100's of diffrent content pages
So to speed up my Web app How can i CACHE the mater oage but not the content page??
Master page loads each time whenever content page is requested..
This thing is possible,I have seen it on many diffrent websites where the Website's Master Page Remains Intact and only the content page changes (best example would be Facebook)

I have a report parameter page which contains many pop up windows for the parameter selection. For example, for driver , there is a pop up window called driver.aspx which contains a listbox that contains list of driver's name.
Now, for each of these pop up windows, i am passing the values of these windows as a session value.
Now, when a user logs in the system, there are many parameter pages for different reports which commonly share the same pop up windows if the parameters are same for different reports.
The problem now is,a user selects 10 drivers for report 1 and runs it. When he goes to report 2 and runs the report, the report 2 takes only those 10 drivers as the driver parameter value.
It means, the error can arise on the system because he may forgot that he have selected 10 drivers for previous report 1. User will not have time to recheck each previous selected values of different paramaters.
What i want is, when a person moves from one report page to another, i want to clear all the session values and adjust it as default for the new report .

Whenever user sets some values to these control and clicks the button, i will navigating him from one content page to another based on the data he has entered. The problem is after the content page load, the values selected/given in the controls(radio button, text box) are getting cleared.
Is there some way to maintain the values ?
I am having a probem when logout from my website.When i copy the URL page which is the page after login,and paste it again in browser,i can direct it to the page even though i alr logout. I not using any buit in asp control,and the logout button link that i create is place at Master Page.
View 1 RepliesI am using a cms product that likes to cache every page so that you get quick response times. The downside of that is that pages can get stale. My question is: are there different caches per user? Does asp.net keep track of caches on a per user per site basis? That's what is seems like to me, but I can't seem to find it documented anywhere. With this cms, they have a load of hashtables keeping tabs on the modified pages. If you clear out the cache, log out, and log back in again as another user, you still have stale information. The only way to get the information to be current for all users is to recycle the app pool, which is something you don't want to do too often ( kinda like pulling the emergency brake on the train ).

I tried disabling the ViewState and ViewStateMode. But both of them failed. Also tried disabling the cacheability for the page. I know I can clear the textboxes on the page load event. But I am curious to know if there is another way to do this.

I have multiple sites with main and subdomain. all doing one same method for the login. login is done with the multi domain cookie but there is problem with the logout. I'm using cookie and session for that state.
When ever I logout form the any domain. I should logout form the all domain.

I am working on rewriting an application. The previous developers have declared some Private static hashtables within a class in a class library. The first time when the application runs, this hashtable gets populated by running the query. After that this hastable is refrenced elsewhere to get the employee information.Even if the employee is removed from the DB, he is still able access the application, Since the private static hashtable holds the employee information. I totally understand that the hashtable is referenced to prevent the DB calls everytime.
The problem is even after closing the browser and restarting the application the hashtable holds the employee information. How do i get clear this so that it calls the DB?

I have 4 webpages. In those pages, i am using session variables,viewstates,cookies. I am passing session variables,viewstates to different pages. Now the problem is sometimes i am getting the old cookie values or session values. I want to clear all these things when i close the browser or if i open a new tab of browser.

My example is I have a session storing the logged in user. This is checked for user access to each page.
If the user goes to another site (e.g. google) I want them to relog into the site.

View 4 RepliesI am caching a file in ttpContext.Current.Application object. Now when I change the values in file, it does not get reflected in the application (I am reading the values from the file for app version).
Even after restarting the app pool and the website in IIS, the changes does not reflect. I dont want to restart IIS.
I want to add a list to the cache and I would like it to stay there as long as posible.
Is there a way adding something to the cache permanently?

View 2 RepliesI have some weird problem. We're using Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 (8 Cores and
8 GB RAM) with IIS 7.5 and ASP.NET MVC 2.
I always cache (simple) stuff via the context cache and it seems like 9 out of 10 immediate page refreshs the Cache["MyKey"] is always null, even though there's no memory limit set on the pool and the server has lots of free memory.
I add expiring data via:

When just doing: Cache.Insert("MyKey", myObject); or Cache["MyKey"] = myObject; I get the same result (cache is almost always null for that key).
As you can see I added a callback, which writes the CacheItemRemovedReason to a text file, and the text file says CacheItemRemovedReason.Removed for MyKey. The doc for CacheItemRemovedReason.Removed says, that I call Remove/Insert on it, even though in my whole project there's no "Remove"-calls, just simple if(Cache["MyKey"] == null) {Cache["MyKey"] = ...} stuff.
I tried adding:
<caching><cache disableMemoryCollection = "true" disableExpiration = "true" privateBytesLimit="0" percentagePhysicalMemoryUsedLimit="90" privateBytesPollTime="00:02:00" /></caching>
to my web.config file in the System.Web-section but nothing changed :(
why Cache["MyKey"] is almost always null?
I have a treeview that shown groups and their sub groups in my usercontrol. I pass the parent GroupId to the usercpntrol from the page. I want to cache nodes of treeview for every Parent Group Id. My code is works good for first time and fill the cache object . after refresh the page, cache object fill the TreeNodeCollection succesfully and everything is ok. But after another refresh, cache object is not null but is empty and TreeNodeCollection.count is zero(0). What's my fault? Please help me to solve this problem.

I am looking for an elegant (i guess as elegant as it can be) solution to caching a users profile on login (whether it is session, cache, cookie, etc) and keeping it in sync when a users profile is changed. How do you guys handle this? Just simply call a Flush() method in your Save() method that invalidates the cache?
