I've got the problem with a simple e-mail form, it uses the simple.aspx and ASPEMAILLib.dll from the persits aspemail installation.The application is hosted on IIS 7, the application pool is a .NET 1.1. I have a website(connect to active directory and pull the required details) deployed on the production web server and it is working fine from last one year.
But from last two days users are getting the following error frequently and find the error details below:-

I ran into this error today and much googling didn't get me the answer. I have been for years now publishing this particular site by simply doing "Publish web site" and then supplying it a UNC path, then I go to the server delete the old bin and copy to the new bin folder to the live site, this has always worked except today I started getting the "cannot be requested" error for certian pages in certain directories. Everything else worked and after several attempts nothing else broke and only these same certain few pages where screwed up - there was nothing exciting about any of these pages, in fact they were part of the admin portion of the site and were very simple

I have a thread class which makes a web request. After 20-30 urls request, its throwing exception: System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out. My code is below where it is throwing exception:

httpReq.Timeout = this.HttpRequestTimeout;
httpRes = (HttpWebResponse)httpReq.GetResponse();
In last line : httpRes = (HttpWebResponse)httpReq.GetResponse(); it is throwing exception. "The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden."
This started as Could not load type 'Global' error. After I tried a few things and getting no where I deleted the Global.asax file and now the error is Could not load type '[namespace].???'Where ??? is the class name of every page I try to load.The web site (when executed within VS2008, local dev computer) works fine but once published (with no errors) and deployed to the server gives me Could not load type '[namespace].???' error
I did install elmah and I was able to get more details for this "generic" Could not load type '[namespace].???' error
elmah reports a HTTP error 500 :

UPDATE #1 I did deploy the site to a different DEV computer (configured IIS, virtual folder, etc.) and it works. When I use the same published code on the server, get the generic Could not load type '[namespace].???' error
UPDATE #2 I created a test web app. One form (Default.aspx) with a button. The click event does a Response.Write("Hello World"); I moved this app to the server and guess what, I get the Could not load type TestSite._Default
UPDATE #3 According to the fusion log viewer, these two websites are attempting to load CppCodeProvider and VJSharpCodeProvider, but I have no references to any of these. After a Google search, I found this post.I checked and I have no references to JAVA files.

I monitor headers and post vars using Tamper Data so I'm pretty sure I haven't missed anything. My approach is to micmic the post back when the user click on one of the links and parse the response. View 4 RepliesThe file system I'm publishing to is a not hosted by me, but by my university. IT here offers students their own web directory to host a website. My intention is to use it to host projects for classes and demo them for my professors. You can enter in a specific link in any browser to go to this website and view it as long as there is a file named 'index.html' in the directory with some presentable html code.
So here's the problem. I want my website to be written using ASP.NET and when I use VS2010 to publish my ASP.NET website to the 'File System,' I cannot simply open up my browser, type in the normal link, and have it display. It just shows up as a list of files in the directory and I can see all my source code for the web site
i have developed a web site first time when i build and publish web site i got precompiled pages..
but when i have made few changes on that n again try to publish it not giving pre compiled pages at destination folder.
I am struggling to publish a site built (and working locally) using VWD 2010 Express to a production server.I realise that this is because I don't understand enough about the relationship between the website and SQL server and I certainly don't know enough about the way SQL server works in general. I have built a web site using WIndows 7 64bit, C#, VS2010, Access 2010 DB. I am ready to continue testing... ASP.NET testing has gone well with no errors but now I am publishing a web.site to the localhost IIS 7 and I am having trouble publishing it. I am getting a permissions error. Do not know what is gong on when I am the only user, no network, just me myself and I.VS2010 tells me that I need to close VS and re-open as the Administrator to publish to the local machine... ? How do I do that when there is only 1 user (me) on this machine.

View 4 RepliesI have installed Windows 7 Professional and Visual Studio 2010 on a machine I was using VS2005 on with Windows XP. I am unable to publish to c:inetpubwwwroot. The files cannot be deleted in wwwroot or edited. I turned off read-only and am still unable to edit anything in the root even when opening something in notepad. When publishing a site every file in the directory throws the following in VS.
"Error deleting file 'what_is_a_puppymill.aspx'. Unable to delete default.aspx'. This function is not supported on this system."

I'm trying to validate that a GridView logated in one of the steps of the Wizard Control is populated by the user before the Next button is clicked. What I mean is that I need to block Next (or Prev) button until the user populates a gridview, once the gridview has at least one element then enable the (Next/Prev) buttons. How can I enable/disable Next/Prev buttons within a specific step?.
