View 1 RepliesI'm getting "Unable to validate data" in a webfarm scenario but not all the time. I'm getting it about on AVERAGE 1x or 2x per hour but fairly random. All of the causes of this error that I know of are list below:achinekey in the machine.config (or web.config) not set the same in a web farm scenario. Mine are set the same in the machine.config.A page is submitted after a server recycle and the machinekey is set to auto. I'm using a static key which should
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to php/curl scrape data from an .NET site (those with __VIEWSTATE, __EVENTVALIDATION). I monitor headers and post vars using Tamper Data so I'm pretty sure I haven't missed anything. My approach is to micmic the post back when the user click on one of the links and parse the response. But the response I'm getting is a page redirect to "Unable to validate data".

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to validate that a GridView logated in one of the steps of the Wizard Control is populated by the user before the Next button is clicked. What I mean is that I need to block Next (or Prev) button until the user populates a gridview, once the gridview has at least one element then enable the (Next/Prev) buttons. How can I enable/disable Next/Prev buttons within a specific step?.
View 1 RepliesOn my website, I only want to allow users that are registerd real estate agents to be able to create an account.Is there a way to have the user registration process something like:1. User puts their "License"on my website Registration page and have them click a "next" button2. There would be a way to have the license validated on the following site: http://www2.dre.ca.gov/publicasp/pplinfo.asp3. If it is a valid license, the user is presented with the next step in the CreateUserWizard form.
View 2 RepliesI am getting the error "Unable to validate Data" on my ASP.NET 3.5 website. Replication Steps:Open the Default.aspx web page (it just has a few asp.net controls) and leave it idle for approx 1hr.Click on a button (server side standard asp.net button) on the page and we get the error.After going through a couple of blogs, I've got the following suggestionsSome suggested the use of specifying the machine key. But is that really required considering that my website is hosted on a single application server (no web farm scenario). Not sure if I should be trying this.
View 2 RepliesI am simply create a form that accept some user details and insert some details into membership table and rest of other table.
Membership.CreateUser(username,password,email)
Roles.AddUserToRole(username,"user");
this will insert the details into the aspnet_users table and user is not assigned to any role and no membership record insert. Please give me some ideas how to do this.
I have created a user account local to my machine. I want to validate this user and his password using C#. I cannot use AD search as this user is local to my machine. I dont want to check his group.
In my environment, we use Active Directory as our password repository. I'm writing an app that uses the users windows session (windows auth) to authenticate the user. This is working well, but I need to provide a way for users to log in as a different user. I setup a web form to accept a username and password. My question is this, I need a secure way to validate the user's credentials against AD. I cant have the credentials passed as clear text. Ive come across the impersonate user functions, but i'm leary because you have to pass a clear text password into the password field. I know I could also use LDAP, but without a certificate, I know plain LDAP is relatively insecure. Can someone point me in the right direction of a more secure solution to query AD with the credentials?

Takes more time and high cpu usage to validate.
Is there any alternative way to validate credentials or any way to reduce the load and time?
I've done a registration form with username availability check.. (refer screenshot attached)..
the problem is when i click register it validates all d fields and doesn't check the username whether its available or not..
it simply inserts the value..
how can i make the username availability check a mandatory?
Writing a custom membership / role provider and have to validate user with extra parameter to Membership.Validate. So, instead of Membership.Validate(username, password) I need Membership.Validate(username, password, client).
Is this possible with the existing MembershipProvider? I would have liked to pass a new MembershipUser to the Validate method but didn't see anything that would work for that.
have a form based authentication login that access MySql to validate the credentials entered.I was wondering how you would encrypt the password??

View 6 RepliesI have a web site that is running under HTTPS on my web server, On my master page I have an image and no one can see the image accept for me if I access the web app from one of my two pc's.
What would cause the users not to be able to see the image on my default page? I have the site running under https and using the asp.net membership controls.
In my page I have the image like this <img src="../App_Themes/Images/CompLogo.gif"/> and no one can see it but me.
I am using Forms Authentication in my VS-2005 website.In case of wrong credentials or while explicitly requesting protected pages the website is able to redirect user to login page. However, when correct login credentials are provided the application is not able to redirect the user to the desired page.While debugging I found that 'Request.IsAuthenticated=False' just before I redirect the user to the desired page.While coding I thought that this property will be set to true automatically after I generate the Authentication ticket. So do I need to set it explicitly inside the submit button click on Login page after validation?BTW I have not used the 'GetAuthcookie', 'SetAuthCookie' or 'RedirectFromLoginPage' methods.
I am posting the code inside the submit button click on the Login page as well as the Authentication and Authorization tags in web.config.
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name=".ASPXFORMSDEMO" loginUrl="~/Login.aspx" cookieless="UseCookies" path="~/"/>
</authentication>
<authorization>
<deny users="?"/>
</authorization>

I have now been trying for many days to get Membership on my website working but cannot. My aspnet db is a web sqlserver 2008 db.
My issues are
1). The MembersPages are still accessible by unauthenicated users in the deployed site. Using the local development server hyperlinking to a MemberPage does infact re-direct the user to the login page and the return url shown is the correct MemberPage selected. But on the deployed site clicking the hyperlink simply takes the un-authenticated user straight to the MemberPage.
2). On both sites, deployed and local, on clicking a login status control, the user is taken to the login page and is correctly authenticated, but the login page return url is always the default page and that is where the authenticated user is returned to even though the destination url in the login control states a MemberPage within the MembersPages directory.
3). In trying to overcome these issues, I have on several occasions deleted the login control and re-introduced it. Although the login control shows while debugging and when the site is deployed, on the login page in the IDA, there is instead an error message stating "Error Creating Control - Login1. Duplicate Component name 'Login1'. Component names must be unique and case sensitive. I'm not sure how to get rid off the duplication.
