I have created a usercontrol to capture education details, it contains 5 textboxes and an functionto insert that values into my db. I have added the usercontrol 5 times to a page. I have a button on my aspx page which I want to be able to click and call the function to insert the values.

I have a ModalPopupExtender that needs to be hidden whenever the user clicks anywhere else on the page, window, or scrollbar. I have a function and it works if i set it to a div tag but what about when the user clicks the windows scrollbar?

I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function.

How do I conditionally trigger a full page postback from a link button inside of an update panel?
I have a custom control that contains its own updatepanel with a link button nested inside of it. When the link button is pressed I want its event handler to have the option of either letting the control update as normal or doing a full postback on the page.
Here is the control hierarchy:
Page
Custom Control
UpdatePanel
LinkButton
Event handler Pseudo code:
LinkButton Click Handler Begin
If is a partial post back AND a full postback is needed
Page.DoFullPostback
End If
End Handler
Note: I aways need the partial postback to happen. I was considering injecting a __DoPostback in the controls markup but this seems hacky to me.

I have 1 ModalPopupExtender inside a UserControl. Everything works great until I start adding the same usercontrol to the page. I am getting this error message in the javascript console::
Message: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two components with the same id 'MPE1' can't be added to the application. I understand the error, it obvious that the framework wants unique IDs. What I can't figure out is how to give them unique name.

View 1 RepliesI've a ASP.Net page (Default.aspx) which will load UserControl (ucontrol.ascx) dynamically into an UpdatePanel. By using UpdatePanel, we believe we're able to prevent the entire page to be posted-back.
My problem is, within the UserControl, we have some form controls, such as inputs and buttons; after the UserControl is loaded, clicking on any button inside the UserControl will cause the UpdatePanel to be blanked. During the investigation, I found that, breakpoints within the Button1_Click() in the code-behind for the UserControl is never reached. I have a page that dynamically inserts user controls into a placeholder depending on values in a database table. The user controls consist of a label and one control (dropdownlist, radiobuttonlist, or checkbox). The controls will also have the AutoPostBack property set programmitcally depending on values in the database. My update panel is on the main page, not in the user control. I have tried the ScriptManager.RegisterPostBackControl method to register the UserControl on page load, but the page still does a post back. I think I need to register the control that is inside the UserControl, but I have no idea how to access it from the main page_load event.
This thread is the closest to what I am trying to do, but since I am inserting the user controls programmatically, I need the triggers to be registered programmatically as well. Also, I need to register
them as PostBackTrigger instead of AsyncPostBackTrigger because I need to do a full page reload because the user controls are inserted dynamically.
