JQuery Trigger Mouseover Function When Page Loads With The Mouse Over The Element
May 25, 2010
I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function.
I have seen this discussed in number of topics, but so far nothing to address my specific issue. I want to display the page the client, and then trigger an updatepanel refresh that will populate with data that takes 3-4 seconds to load (the rest of the page loads very fast). At the same time I want to display "...Loading..." text using UpdateProgress control.
Everything is working below in the sample code. However, UpdateProgress will not display unless the button is actually clicked by the user. In real production scenario I would hide the button. To invoke the immediate UpdatePanel refresh I trigger the click via Javascript. I have also tried "__DoPostBack" without success.
<code> <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="TestUpdate.aspx.cs" Inherits="TestUpdate" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> [code]...
How can I trigger a jQuery function with the Gridview Select button?
I want that the select button trigger the jquery function that has the row details (it's already working with a asp:buttonfield ), and select the row so i can get the values and send it trough e-mail with another button. I don't know if this is possible.
Can I trigger the jQuery function from code behind with the select button Sub? How?
I have 2 asp:DropdownLists with an OnSelectedIndexChanged attribute. When that is triggered I would like to run a jquery funtion that would let the user know the data is being processed. How do I jump to my jquery function and is there a way I don't have to use the unique id?
I have a page that calculates some stuff and then displays it to the user. Because the calculation part takes a while I would prefer to have the entire page load with empty data and only after that call the calculation and the display data function.
I want to run the LoadArray() function initialy when the page loads. This function is calling a pagemethod given in aspx.vb code file..
Partial Class test3 Inherits System.Web.UI.Page <System.Web.Services.WebMethod()> Public Shared Function Load_Array() As String() Dim Model_Name_old As String()() Dim mod_code As String() Dim mod_name As String() Dim cod_upper As Integer //calling webservice that retunrs a jagged array Dim ins As New localhost_insert_model.dbModel Model_Name_old = ins.get_Model_Name("A") mod_code = Model_Name_old(0) mod_name = Model_Name_old(1) Return mod_name End Function End Class
So how can i load the javascrip LoadArray() function onPageLoad in this scenario?
I don't need to run the function every time the page loads!!
But, I would like to have the control when the function is to be called.
The only way I thought of is calling my function with OnLoad in the body tag and having a hidden field to be checked and then run the script accordingly.
e.g:
<body onload="ScrollToView();">
Is there a better way? For example, running the function from Page_InitComplete handler?
I am currently working in asp.net. I am showing list of employees where I want that when user takes the mouse on any employee's image it should show a small window just beside the pointer which shows some of the details of that employee.
I have a VS 2010 and have created some aspx content pages associated with a master page. I want to call a javascript function right when the page loads but am not able to find an onload client side event for these pages which are using asp:content as there only controls. I know that I can put content in them and I have but how do I call the client side onload event from the main content control?
I have a gridview with list of companies. I want to provide an option to user that, when user mouse over, the user has to see the delete(imagebuttion) option and clicking on that need confirm buttion. The below articles are very useful but the delete option is always visible to end user which I dont want in my application.
I use a ASP.NET Menu control with Orientation=Horizontal. It is kind of irritating that the popout menus appear on mouseover, which causes it to show by accident if you move the mouse over the menu when you want to click on something right below the menu. Then the menu popout hides the element you actually wanted to click on! Is it possible to change the functionality so that the popout requires a mouse click instead of mouseover?
I have created a usercontrol to capture education details, it contains 5 textboxes and an functionto insert that values into my db. I have added the usercontrol 5 times to a page. I have a button on my aspx page which I want to be able to click and call the function to insert the values.
I have a ModalPopupExtender that needs to be hidden whenever the user clicks anywhere else on the page, window, or scrollbar. I have a function and it works if i set it to a div tag but what about when the user clicks the windows scrollbar?
function HideList() {$find("<%=ModalPopupExtender1.BehaviorID%>").hide();
We supply micro-site content to a client. They supply us with a HTML wrapper and we inject our content into it. I'm trying to debug an issue where our style sheet appears to be interfering with the style in their wrapper.
Normally I'd use firebug or IE Developer Toolbar to select the element and I can see which styles are being applied, which are being overridden and where they are coming from. But this particular problem only exists when I hover the mouse over a link. Specifically, the link shrinks a little bit.
Is there anything that I can use to see what the browser is doing with the styles when I hover the mouse over the link?
i am developing an ASP.NET website with a master page,i want to get an element in masterpage from another page inheriting the master page i know how to do this in c#, but i want to make this from jquery.
I would like to select an element that is in the same TR as another element I found with a selector. The selector itself: $("input[name='sMessageValue']","#messageTable") Now I have this element and got its value I would like to find a checkbox located in the same TR, i tried this as starting point : $(this).(':parent').val(). But seems not the right thing to do.
I haven't been able to find it if there is. Note - my issue is with a background-color, not a background image. Anyway, after having spent most of an entire day trying to fix this problem & unsuccessfully sourcing help on the web I thought now that I've managed to resolve my issue I'd post my solution here to keep someone from suffering the same headache.
Basically in my asp.net solution I have a div which has a mouseover class toggle bound to it. Within that div I have several divs which contain HtmlAnchors & Images (<div><a><img /></a><div>). These divs also have a class toggle bound to them. So, herein lies the issue:
[Code]....
when skipping between the .Div2s, '.Div1' would suffer from a flicker which looked terrible. (This only happened in internet explorer!) The fix I finally came up with was to set a timeout on the class-toggle of .Div1

This works for me in ie6-8! Phew! Time to get away from my computer.

I'm trying to create a simple portfolio page. I have a list of thumbs and an image. When you click on a thumb, the image will change.
When a thumbnail is clicked, I'd like to have the image fade out, wait until the image is loaded, then fade back in. The problem I have right now is that some of the images are pretty big, so it fades out, then fades back in immediately, sometimes while the image is still loading.
I'd like to avoid using setTimeout, since sometimes an image will load faster or slower than the time I set.
i have been implementing your Autocomplete routine, However there does seem to be a problem in that it does not allow you to pick a value through a mouse click. The enter key is fine.
I am developing a website using ASP.NET MVC2. I have a page where i want to display search result. When user mouse over to any of the search result, a side pop should come up with additional details. I want similar to Bing Search results. If we do a search in Bing and mouse over to any search result, a small rectangle dialog comes up on the right side and when user mouse over to that small rectangle it shows the "Additional" information.
