C# - UpdatePanel's PostbackTrigger That Is Inside A Usercontrol Inside A Masterpage?
Feb 24, 2011
I have a masterpage and inside that masterage is a user control that has a toolbar with a save button. I then have an aspx page that inherits form t he master page. In that page I have and updatepanel. Is it possible to set the post back trigger to the Save button inside the usercontrol?
I've a ASP.Net page (Default.aspx) which will load UserControl (ucontrol.ascx) dynamically into an UpdatePanel. By using UpdatePanel, we believe we're able to prevent the entire page to be posted-back.
My problem is, within the UserControl, we have some form controls, such as inputs and buttons; after the UserControl is loaded, clicking on any button inside the UserControl will cause the UpdatePanel to be blanked. During the investigation, I found that, breakpoints within the Button1_Click() in the code-behind for the UserControl is never reached. Please reference to the code below, this references to [REFERENCE]1.
i am doing Fileupload using asp.net 3.5 with asp.net ajax.In that i am using Usercontrol MainPage.ascx Page:In this page i am using UpdatePanel inside Fileupload control. Demo.aspx:In this page also i am using Updatepanel. i am drag MainPage.ascx usercontrol inside this UpdatePanel which is in Demo.aspx. Question: When i drag the Mainpage.ascx Usercontrol on Demo.aspx. Here i am getting the Fileupload.HasFile is getting null .If anybody knows Plz.
I have a DateTime in my MasterPage.aspx that is outside of UpdatePanel1. There are two Hyperlink controls inside UpadatePanel1 to navigate or to move to the other pages. Full code of MasterPage.aspx is below.
[Code]....
If the user clicks Hyperlink to navigate or move to the other page, the DateTime will change. It means that my MasterPage.aspx render the whole page when the user clicks Hyperlink. I do not want this behavior. I want my MasterPage.aspx only render the ContentPage and the Hyperlink inside UpadtePanel1. Controls outside UpadtePanel1 like DateTime should not be rendered again. Please advise the code to achieve my example goal.
Using ASP.NET 3.5 / C#. Have a page with a UpdatePanel, and a UserControl inside the UpdatePanel. When calling ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this, typeof(UpdatePanel), Guid.NewGuid().ToString(), script, false); the script appears to fire (have tried it with a JS alert), but the resulting script also disappears immediately afterword. I am trying to create a JS function via the script, and it is not in the Page Source after the Page is rendered. i have tried many variationsRegisterClientScriptBlock with no luck.
i have one master page and the ContentPlaceHolder that are inside UpdatePanel. I have too, buttons in master page thad feed the ContentPlaceHolder e update the UpdatePanel. When i click on any master page button, it load one UserControl inside ContentPlaceHolder. But inside one of this UserControls have a Button, that when i click on, it dont fire the click event.
MasterPage code:
[Code]....
Code that load UserControl inside ContentPlaceHolder
[Code]....
Code that contains the button that dont fire:
[Code]....
Obs: I tried sign dynamically the button, but dont works. And when i click on button, the unload method of UserControl begin called.
i have a usercontrol inside an updatepanel. when i click some button this usercontrol will be loaded. and the usercontrol itself has anither button in it. the problem is that the usercontrol code behind is never executed and when the button is clicked the usercontrol disappears.
I have an UpdatePanel with a GridView. This GridView has a template column that is a DropDownList. The problem is that the SelectedIndexChanged event does not fire for the DropDownList. Here is the code:
I'm trying to add and edit an image which is located in a detailsview which is inside an UpdatePanel. After I read relevant topics in the forum I installed the Ajax Control Toolkit. Below is my source code. When I used it only for insert new image it worked great. The problem caused when I tried to implement it on the Edit mode, i.e. when I tried to edit the image and upload a different image. Unfortunately it didn't work as I hoped. Nothing happend and the image hasn't been changed. I also tried to change the IDs (AsyncFileUpload ID) to be the same in both places but it didn't work either.
I've got a textbox being used to enter a password inside a wizard control. I'm trying to get a password strength meter working with it.
Unfortunately, the password box isn't visible until step 4 and this means that I can't register the event handler onload() and putting some JS next to the PW box to register the event handler doesn't seem to fire. I'm guessing this is due to the contents of the wizard being loaded through an AJAX postback.
I have two update panels and one javascript control.
When the javascript button is clicked, it forces a partial postback on UpdatePanel2. UpdatePanel2 is populated with dynamically created buttons that have javascript effects (jquery) but when click can also induce a postback. My problem is that, when clicking on these dynamic buttons, the whole page does not do a partial post back but rather UpdatePanel2 itself does a partial postback and everything is gone.
However, what I want to do is be able to tie each of the dynamic buttons in UpdatePanel2 (After being dynamically created) and make them an asychnonous triggers to UpdatePanel1. So that when clicking on these dynamic buttons, ONLY UpdatePanel1 is doing a partial postback refresh. UpdatePanel2 stays put and remains the same.
„Use the PostBackTrigger control to enable controls inside an UpdatePanel to cause a postback instead of performing an asynchronous postback."
I made simple application and I do not see difference between using PostBackTrigger and standard postback.
I have three buttons: two inside update panel and one outside update panel. When I click btnUpdateAsync in event handler I set text property of lblUpdatePanel and lblNoUpdatePanel and only lbl that is inside update panel is chaned if web browswer - so this is ok.
Whant I click btnUpdateInUpdatePanelSync all page is refreshed and both lablels are changed in web browser.
When I click btnUpdateOutsideUpdatePanel I see the same behavior.
If I used button that is not associated with PostBackTrigger I would get the same behavior - so what is the purpose of PostBackTrigger?
Can you use the new Microsoft Chart Control for .NET Framework inside a usercontrol? Bacause when i take a working chart from my page and then copy it to a usercontrol the picture is blank very weird.
I use the tabpanel and place it in a usercontrol. but the text in the tab header are cut off when opened in IE6 and IE7. in mozilla this is working properly. i am loading this usercontrol in a webpart so i can add it in any page in my site.
there's a label control on my master page..if its value is "Value1" ,I want this CSS Sprite to display on my webform..if the Value is "Value2"..the CSS sprite should use some different image..just the image needs to be changed ..nothing else in that Sprite..
I found out that I can use "FindControl" method to find out what value that Label Control of Master Page's currently got..
Now how do I change that image on the banner ?? How do I go about it ? Also that CSS Sprite now is a user control named "myBanner.ascx"(earlier was an aspx file)..Now do I need to make 2 diff usercontrols or I can implement some logic in one usercontrol itself ?
Should I make 2 copies of this "myBanner.ascx" with JUST the "image name" changed in its CSS ???
Hope its not confusing..Actually I am lost :/
What I want is ONE banner which has been made using CSS Sprite ..Now if the "Label Control's "value in the master page is "Value1" then the image to be used on that banner is "IMAGE1" else if "Label Control's" value is "Value2" then "IMAGE2" should be used in that sprite..
I have a ListView showing just a list of concatenated strings obtained from different field of the objects of the datasource. A LinkButton (with CommandName="Edit") in each row Event handlers for OnItemDataBound and OnItemEditing A UserControl in EditTemplate.
Now the problem is, I don't know how to use Bind expression in the UserControl. I mean, how to populate this usercontrol when the linkbutton is clicked? (I tried capturing the control in the OnItemEditing handler. But FindControl returned null, as that handler is called before going to edit mode.)
I have copy and paste this Alert Class:[URL] It works except with a button inside an update panel but it shows no error. The asp code inside is executed but nothing shows up on client side.
i have 2 ascx user controls (both with VB code behind) placed in a contentplaceholder inside an updatepanel within a aspx page based on a masterpage... in the first user control i have a gridview and in the second i want to loop through the rows and get values from the first user control's gridview I would like to know how I can access the gridview of the first usercontrol from the second usercontrol please.
