I am using Calendar to display Date in Textbox. my Problem is that it works Ok in localhost but when I had uploaded the same, error come "Unable to convert String to datetime".

it works fine but when the user but the date like this 9/9/2010 it gives error because the format is set "dd/MM/yyyy" and given date format is "d/M/yyyy" or it could be "dd/M/yyyy" what could be the solution of this problem?
I have the following date in string format "2011-29-01 12:00 am" . Now I am trying to convert that to datetime format with the following code:
DateTime.TryParse(dateTime, out dt);
But I am alwayws getting dt as {1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM} , Can you tell me why ? and how can I convert that string to date.

I just saw everybody mentioned to use format argument. I will mention now that I can't use the format parameter as I have some setting to select the custom dateformat what user wants, and based on that user is able to get the date in textbox in that format automatically via jQuery datepicker.
There is a "singleline" Textbox in my page in which both date and time are fetch from database table column "DateTime".
I want Time to be come below Date in that "singleline" Textbox.
I can't take that Textbox as "multiline". How to split date and time in singleline Textbox?

I am having trouble formatting the date on a textbox I get the error above if I don't enter the date in MM/DD/YY format in the textbox. I am also using this in a FormView so I can't format it or don't know how to in the code behind so if there is a way to format it in design view that would be preferable. Does anyone have any ideas on how I would do any of this.

I have an application that uses a time date picker control to display a date from a sql (sql 2000) table. Casting from the table to the control works fine, but writing a selected date from the control back to the database does not, I was under the impression that a datatype 'date' in VB would be compatible with SQL datetime datatime, and obviously it is from sql to vb as the date is correctly displayed in the control reading from the table. How do I need to convert the value from the date time picker control to write into sql ?

I have written a code to insert emp details into database and i am also inserting local date(i,e system date) into to the table to know/have an idea at what date the employee inserted details. I have set date format add/MM/yyyy and its working well in my local system, but after uploading the site into server (the server is shared server) iam getting error and the error message is Failed to convert parameter value from a String to a DateTime.
Surprisingly, it is working well in server when i chaged the date format to MM/dd/yyyy, but now its not working in my local system and getting the same error.

dateString value may be in following format.
en-US -> "4/29/2010"
fr-FR -> "29/04/2010"
de-DE -> "29.04.2010"
it-IT -> "29/04/2010"
es-ES -> "29/04/2010"
zh-CN -> "2010/4/29"
ja-JP -> "2010/04/29"
sv-SE -> "2010-04-29"
And converting this to Date Object as follows,

though its giving me the wrong result like for fr-FR "29/04/2010" ==> "Fri May 4 00:00:00 UTC+0530 2012"
Which is completely irrelevant, How should I get the correct Date ?
