I have some data on it.
Lets say for example i fill a dropdownlist with the articles, and the selectedValue is the Articles.Id .
I want to get for example, the Title of an article, that has ID=2, for example and fill a textbox with that data.
How should i do ?

I am using a gridview as a dropdown extender for a textbox which works nice. I want to select a row in the gridview and fill in some textboxes with data from that row. I know how to do the Attributes.Add for cells in the RowDatabound event. But I have always passed the cell data to another page as parameters. How can I stay on the same page and fill in the textboxes?
Do I setup a javascript and pass the parameters to it and have it fill in the textboxes? I have other texboxes that the user has entered and need to keep that data there.
I have a modalpopup extender that is brought up if the user presses a button. This is fine and the user can enter the data. There are a number of textboxes and dropdownlists. However, I have a gridview which I want to bring up modalpopupextender so the user can edit an entery. How can I set the data to the controls? A dynamicpopulate extender will repopulate the modalpopupextender with all the data. It doesn't make sense for me. Is there anyway I can populate the data with c#? Also can I assign two buttons to call the modalpopupextender?

View 4 RepliesI have a repeater which is binded using a Collection of Entity Data Framework.
Once the repeater is binded using the datasource, the user can control the no of rows present in the repeater using a Dropdown list on the page. For ex: if datasource has 2 rows, user want to add 3 more rows, user selects 5 from dropdown, which adds 3 additional rows to the Repeater. I am able to do this.
The repeater has textbox controls in each row. Now once the user enter the values in this textbox of the newly generated rows, the user can save the values entered with the no of rows specified.
I have a button which is outside the repeater and on click of this i need to validate all the textbox values and save them into dB accordingly.

what i am doing is that, I First Filled A Dataset With Required Value Then I loped This Dataset Row For Value On Which I Have To Get Data From Another Database Again I Stored new data in another dataset and After Looping, I Merged It With Previous One.
I am using a Strored procedure which inserts data in to global temporary table and returns the result sets to Client. when i execute procedure from SQL Plus its working.where whene dataadapter.fill command is executed Invalid ROWID exception Is thrown.

The command is calling a SQL Server 2005 stored procedure that takes 20 parameters and returns 6 tables of about 5-50 rows each. The paramters are all NVARCHAR, INT, or BIT data types. Only one of the parameters is Input/Output. There is a total of about 100 rows returned. Normally this takes a fraction of a second, but for some queries, it times out after 30 seconds.
When I run the exact same query in the Management Studio query window it takes 1 second.
what I can do to get the same performance from .Net as I am getting from Management Studio?
Should i use dataset in code behind or SqlDataSource on the form designer to fill or bind a DropDownList in my asp.net page I am currently using SqlDatasource on the form and i bind the control to MySqlDatasource because i find it is very easy and to much faster but somebody told me to use dataset from code behind because of security and performance
