Have been asked to research asp.net MS certification and about the only thing I can find is a couple of exams that go toward the Developer Certificate. Anyone know if locally we have a Certificate that is asp.net specific without all the other requirements? Vaguely thought their was something but can't seem to google it up. Maybe I should have stayed in bed today instead.
View 3 RepliesWhat I want to do is like the web browser. When you visit a https web site, the browser will download and install the X.509 Certification automatically.
I have a application which will be installed in PC, and the application will post to a https website. So if the certification is expired, the App should download a new one.
So, how can I get the certification? A stream is always good, I can make it to certification.
I am new to windows Phone 7 application. Here is my requirment that follows,
1/ I have web service created in php using http. (ex: http://abc.com/allservices/api.php?Task=getData&Email=ab1@abc.com&Password=1234)
2/ if i call that url i can get response in xml foramt.
3/ if I type this url in browser adddress bar with changes the http to https. the browser ask me to continue with this url. If i click this i can get the same response in xml format with certification error.
4/ once again i do the same step, this time the browser don't ask me to continue. I don't why.
5/ From my Windows Phone 7 application is working fine when I use http.
6/ If i change the url http to https I want to get the same xml.
7/ But i get only Server Not Found exception .
8/ Is there any posible way can I acess the web server using Https with Certification error..
If VS 2008 and VWD 2008 are both installed on the same machine, will they both use the same Projects folder to keep my projects in?If so, can I open the projects and run them interchangeably with VS2008 and VWD 2008? This is the folder that is located at " User>Documents>Visual Studio 2008>Projects
View 1 RepliesI have looked at all the posts I can find on this problem and tried everything I can think of, but still the problem persists. I am getting really sick of it.was working fine for the last year until an update to MS Office 2007 caused a lot of problems (automatic update). After checking posts here, I removed it completely. No change. I then tried all the things I could find on other posts, also no change. Today, I removed VS and the Web Authoring Component and re-installed. Still no go.
Does anyone have a fix for this problem. It seems that it has been around a long time, but is still giving problems. I even saw one suggestion to reformat the drive! You've got to be joking!
I'm creating a website and I'm testing resgistering and Log-in.
I followed a simple tutorial to create a Log-in in Visual Studio C# template which generated a SQL Server database.Locally the Log-in and registration page works perfectly. The problem is that when I upload my site to the hosting site the navigation works but the Log-in and Registration forms send an error when clicked "Register" or "Log-in". I contacted the site and they upload my database the way it should be because I was doing it wrong. I can see all my files including the data base.
They commented me that I had to do a connection string to the data base so the login and registration forms can work. I don't understand how to do that, I know the connection string has to be declared in the Web Config File, the thing is that I don't know how to write that code and link it to my data base in the hosting site, in fact I have sample code but I don't know just what do I need to put in it.
I been trying to attach a database in sql 2008 express created in VS 2008 Professional. I have been getting error message and codes which there is no support for once you click the link in the message whats up with that? to my most recent memory it had something to do with permissions... but I was logged in as adminstrator so that confuses me.

I recently bought a new computer, so I want to copy the projects into current system which has visual studio. I have a project developed in VWD 2008. I copied the folder into a flash drive and copied it back into the new system.
Knowing the location, how I do import the project into new system?
I have a project that I developed in VS2005 and that has been put into VSS. I am trying to "get" it on a new machine and convert it to VS2008 because that is what is installed on the new machine. I am having problems with it that I think originate in its working folder. So my basic question is, when you try to work with a solution that's in VSS should you maintain the same folder structure that it had when it was originally checked in? I'm not particularly happy with its original structure because it goes on and on seven levels deep, and I wanted to just cut it down to C:ProjectsResNew, but if that's what it takes to get it to work, I'll do it.
